Yes, it's sad. But many of us have lived this life. Bruce is such a poet!

@@africareact Bruce shows are all the best. But as fans, like me, who saw him throughout from early (1970s) got older -- and as Bruce quit the E Street Band for a while -- when they reunited for these shows, us boomers didn't take those next moments for granted. So, yes, it was definitely a best experience. :-)

My favorite Springsteen performance. My heart still bleeds for the "Big Man". You are a special reactor, ARP. Thanks for this.

Best harmonica player in my opinion. Plus I kinda lived this song when I was young in the late 70s and early 80s.

A lot of emotions emerge from this song. I really appreciated that the accordion, saxophone and harmonica could express themselves fully. Of course I am aware that in fact it is the musicians who express themselves through them.

Song about his sister and her husband. And by far the most beautiful rendition of the song. My eyes still water seeing Danny and the Big Man.

Greetings again eh!! Yes, this one is devastating in it's emotional reach. Bruce's songwriting skills, his ability to make you feel a part of the song, to feel what the characters are feeling, to understand their feelings make his songs that much more powerful!! As mentioned, Bruce admits he loosely based this song on his sister and her husband. Great seeing the late great Danny Federici on the accordian and of course the late great Big Man himself on the sax. Two valueable members of the E Street Band who left us way way way too soon. There's a video of Danny's last appearance with the E Street Band, he basically came from his hospital bed and performed "Fourth of July in Ashbury Park" on accordian with Bruce. It's a stunning version and it'll break your heart, knowing he would pass on a few weeks later.
