I love these cream shadows for the summer…they are so quick and easy. I found that if I powder my eyelids with my Pat McGRATH under eye setting powder, the sticks go on beautifully and stay crease free all day. 😀
@@heatherpuckett4615 I just powdered over my lid then applied the cream shadow stick, no primer. I have also tapped the tiniest bit of translucent powder on my eyelid OVER the shadow stick to set it well. I normally only have to do that step when it’s hot and/or humid outside. Hope this helps.
Perfect timing for me for this video! I just received 3 of Bobbi Brown long-wear cream shadow sticks: truffle, dusty mauve, and shore. What a quick and beautiful everyday makeup look!
I had trouble with these cream shadows at first, looked great when first applied, but after a few hours looked patchy, dry, creased. After some experimenting, I think they work best on me on clean dry lids with nothing underneath, you don’t need a primer. I have also found that even some of the matte shades, like Stone, for example, have some shimmer in them, which is nice. Love Golden Bronze too!
Gorgeous! And I love that its a cooler toned eye look! Those are so hard to find in cream products that are also good for more "mature" makeup wearers. 💜

Lisa I’m so glad you did a video featuring Bobbi Brown! It’s one of my favorite cosmetic lines too. I have been using the extra tint lip balm for years now and it is my holy grail, it gives your lips a hint of color and is super moisturizing as well, a definite must if you haven’t tried it! I also love their bronzer and blushes. I think I’m going to have to have that face palette too, I use the shade medium in the bronzer so may have to go that route. And I am for sure getting that beautiful bronze color in the cream shadow stick. You looked absolutely beautiful! Thank you for the tutorial and I hope you keep featuring different brands more often.

I have been using Bobbie Brown eyeshadow sticks for years! They are my favorite makeup product. I think you would also like golden pink and pink sparkle. The eye opening mascara is really nice too. These definitely blend nicely in the crease but if you like to do a transition shade, an eye shadow would probably break and give a little more definition than doing a light cream stick on lid, then a darker in crease. I would probably do lid with cream stick then a shadow in crease.

Lisa I finally have all of the BK eye brushes. I have both foundation brushes and the 103 now. With each sale I've been getting a brush. Trying to decide which one to purchase next.
Elf cream eyeshadow sticks. Very nice and creamy, easy to apply and blend. You have some time to blend before it sets, and once it does, it's not moving or fading away. The other big plus is the price tag, $5 per stick. I bought six of them for the price of one Bobbi Brown!!!

Thanks again for another great review... could you please advise me when I use cream shadow sticks I have some from Sigma they crease very quickly ... do I use an eye primer first and then apply the cream sticks? Should I set the eye primer with powder as well? I’ve tried using the stick as a primer it didn’t do a good job and then just on its own as an eyeshadow and it creased so quickly 😏... I have slightly oily eye lids... thank you for these awesome videos and tutorials! Love from Australia
What did you use underneath? I've been experimenting with these the past few days and every primer I use underneath gets pushed around under the cream shadows and then it looks patchy and messy and ... just not very good. lol Help?
I so much enjoyed this video. I don’t know why the eye shadow sticks don’t work for me. Every time I bought the sticks they come so dry. So I stopped using eye shadows and just use mascara. My makeup is mostly by Bobbi Brown. And yesterday I received your foundation and blush brushes. I have yet to open the box. So excited. Thanks for this tutorial. You explain it so well.
Love 💘 this. My eyes are too hooded for smokey eyes. I find the hooded part always blends with the lash line area ruining the crease separation if you get what I mean. So I'm usually stuck with one color and eyeliner only when going out for a couple hours. I wish you could show me a way for really hooded eyes 👀 to give me a different look. Happy Sunday 😊!! Such a great question! The Charlotte Tilbury I would compare to more of a big eyeliner. You can smudge them some but not as creamy or spreadable as these. I love the CT for a thicker liner.
I really want to love these but 8 hours is not enough wear time for me. I work 10 hour shifts sometimes 11-12 as well as have oily lids. I need something fast easy and hold up for really long work days and still look put together. Any suggestions?
I love the look too! Everything turned out beautifully. I just received the Bobbi Brown cream shadow stick in Bark 2 days ago. I used it yesterday for the first time and loved it. Now you have me wanting Sand Dune (out of stock at Sephora), Shell and Golden Bronze (out of stock at Sephora). Watching you putting on the shadow made me miss my eyelids even more! They used to look like yours but now, at 71, my eyes are hooded and I just hate that. So sad. I do what I can to make my eyes look big again and to camouflage my droopy lids. So happy to hear you say that more mature eyes can still use the shimmery shades. I've shied away from shimmer for many years because I was afraid my eyelids would look even older. These Bobbi Brown shimmers look much more subtle which is good.

I am wondering if you think this look using golden bronze, a shimmer, would work for some one in their sixties? I do not have hooded eyes, but I don’t usually use shimmers as the lids aren’t as firm as they used to be!
Hi Kristina….I am 64 and use these eyeshadow sticks. Love them!! I have also tried Laura Mercier’s sticks; however, the Bobbi Brown sticks are creamier and last longer on the eye. Truly a great product! Generally do not use primer….someone suggested using a very light dusting powder on top…have not tried that but might (just to see if I can get more than 8 hours without having to touch up). Highly recommend!
I have used all those that Lisa suggested and a few others. The Laura Mercier Moonlight was not good for “mature” eyes…I have not found one in BB that was an issue. Play with them, blend them, go lightly at first to get a feel for what they do, and then you can build from there! Have fun!

I really like the malted pink shade you bought. What shadow stick colours do you recommend using with that?
I use malted pink as a primer. Evens out my textured lid. The best!

I really want to love these but 8 hours is not enough wear time for me. I work 10 hour shifts sometimes 11-12 as well as have oily lids. I need something fast easy and hold up for really long work days and still look put together. Any suggestions?

I love the look too! Everything turned out beautifully. I just received the Bobbi Brown cream shadow stick in Bark 2 days ago. I used it yesterday for the first time and loved it. Now you have me wanting Sand Dune (out of stock at Sephora), Shell and Golden Bronze (out of stock at Sephora). Watching you putting on the shadow made me miss my eyelids even more! They used to look like yours but now, at 71, my eyes are hooded and I just hate that. So sad. I do what I can to make my eyes look big again and to camouflage my droopy lids. So happy to hear you say that more mature eyes can still use the shimmery shades. I've shied away from shimmer for many years because I was afraid my eyelids would look even older. These Bobbi Brown shimmers look much more subtle which is good.

I am wondering if you think this look using golden bronze, a shimmer, would work for some one in their sixties? I do not have hooded eyes, but I don’t usually use shimmers as the lids aren’t as firm as they used to be!
Hi Kristina….I am 64 and use these eyeshadow sticks. Love them!! I have also tried Laura Mercier’s sticks; however, the Bobbi Brown sticks are creamier and last longer on the eye. Truly a great product! Generally do not use primer….someone suggested using a very light dusting powder on top…have not tried that but might (just to see if I can get more than 8 hours without having to touch up). Highly recommend!

I have used all those that Lisa suggested and a few others. The Laura Mercier Moonlight was not good for “mature” eyes…I have not found one in BB that was an issue. Play with them, blend them, go lightly at first to get a feel for what they do, and then you can build from there! Have fun!

Hi! Yes, I think so :) If you notice breakouts then I would toss but I use foundations past their exp date typically :)
