Father MOMOTARO ♂(2000/7/3)
He is hesitant in new situations and is a loner.
His father died before he was born, and he had never spent time with a silverback.
He had already turned into a silverback by the time he was 10 years old.

MOMOTARO's father is BIJU.
MOMOTARO's mother is MOMOKO.
Mother GENKI ♀ (1986/6/24)
She is 14 years older than Momotaro and has a role to support the whole family mentally.
She has had a tumultuous and eventful life.
She has returned to her birthplace, Kyoto City Zoo.
She had never been blessed with a baby but after meeting Momotaro,
she had two sons.
She is a very maternal female gorilla.
GENKI's father is MAC.
GENKI's mother is HIROMI.
First son GENTARO, male (2011/12/21)
He was separated from his mother Genki soon after he was born.
Genki's milk production was not very good.
He was raised by his keeper for his first10 months.
Because of this, he is very fond of humans.
His face is so expressive, and everyone enjoys watching him.
Second son KINTARO ♂ (2018/12/19)
He is just very strong-willed and independent.
He has big eyes and long eyebrows.

Yes, Kintaro is growing up. Lucky for us, though, he's still very much a playful child. So we get to keep watching his antics. Always love watching Kintaro protect his mother Genki. Sometimes I think the little gorilla doesn't know he's small. But then he saw the door opening, and knew he had to run to be second behind Momotaro.

I'm constantly seeing videos about this family where the title claims that Gentaro hurts Genki. Then I watch it, and he literally taps her on the shoulder as he runs by or something like that.

I could watch this Precious Family ALL DAY! I have fallen in Love with All of them! Gentaro is my favorite, and honestly they care about each other deeply! Genki is the Sweetest Mama EVER!! She's also HILARIOUS!!!! ESPECIALLY when she wants to mate with her Beloved Husband MOMOTARO!! Her facial expressions show her frustration with her husband!!❤ Annie is a Beautiful Girl...she reminds me of Genki too! Gentaro and Annie are destined for each other. Both raised by Humans at the beginning of their lives! What BEAUTIFUL Babies they will make!! 💜💙

I hope not Gentaro is a terror and Annie's deserves the best. Gentaro needs to be taken to a facility where he's closely examined for mental defects like his lump on a log Father. Both of them seems deranged and Gentaro will taint Annie's gene pool when producing offsprings.

Besides any of that, what good does using a computer is ro a Silverback leading his troop? How would he implement that into his daily routine? Evil is a person like you people who regard animals lives more than humans. You are so upset that I spoke about a wild creature that you deemed him with more intelligence than me. But I am waiting for your response to confirm my suspensions. I do not like Gentaro and that is my right. I can speak ill of him if I choose, as well.

Great video. Although Kintaro did well to help his mom, that is actually the silverback Momotaro’s job. He always looks on “confused”. Gentaro has been allowed to terrorize Genki for at least a year. More viscously than any footage I can find of another gorilla mother/son relationship. There’s a video circulating of the most violent gorilla attacks caught on film, Gentaro’s on it…twice. Whatever the cause of these rages are, only Momotaro is physically strong enough to stop, but he’s mentally too weak.
He should be moved. He is already grown. And he mounted Kintaro the other day. He needs to lead his own family. He is too jealous in this one.

@@karencave4197 They don’t have any bachelor groups. They are also not plugged in to the worldwide gorilla preservation network to send their young adults. I’m told the Japanese zoo’s are working on creating a more animal centered environment than the “for profit” centered structure they use now. Gentaro is probably a huge draw for visitors. Hopefully, they’ll do what’s best for him soon.

@@catman688 primates are similar to humans but not exactly alike. Most primate mothers concentrate all their attention on the new baby’s survival. The previous child is usually fully weaned, trained on foraging and taught social behavior before the next birth. After that the relationship with the mother changes drastically. The older child is allowed to watch at a distance to learn parenting skills. Not much interactions with mom after a new child is born. The occasional quick grooming maybe.
