Clive's horror is genius because it reaches deep into the unconscious and reveals the fears that live there, and consciously shows you fantastical wonders that you'd only ever see in a dream. It's emotional, psychological, and even sexual at times. It's hitting all the chakras, from the Root to the Crown, like a kundalini serpent. I've never written a novel (although I've wanted to and have ideas for a few), but I do write a lot of poetry. Clive has been a huge influence. I really hope he finishes the third Book of the Art before he moves onto another plane.

"We will see a generation of quoters."
Good prediction. Alot of movie makers now can't see out of the box. Even critically acclaimed directors seem like knockoffs of other famous directors of the past.

Not for nothing but Clive isn’t as wholly original as you might think. Books of blood is just a riff on the illustrated man, Jacqueline ess is a riff on carrie, rawhead Rex is jaws on land.
There are plenty of original voices and films and art out there you simply have too look.
That’s not a knock to Clive because I love his work but you must remember his a professional so anything new at that time he probably saw as a threat

Tarantino. I'm a fan, but where does homage end and plagiarism begin? Obviously he's not the only culprit, but he's the easiest example. When you copy a scene shot-for-shot in the name of "homage", you forfeit originality.
Take more inspiration from the world as opposed to film.
