this song isn’t that bad actually. a lot of this album i sadly feel guilty for not enjoying the new sound because i’m so accustomed to loving every of mice and men song to ever come out. they don’t feel like they’re the same band. doesn’t mean it’s bad. but it won’t ever be what it used to be.
But what i don't get is they changed albums ago to this sound even with Austin bro. They went softer cause he couldn't scream. He slowly became backing vocals every other song. This is how they sounded fpr that last album

I really like Aaron Pauley. He wrote They Said a Storm Was Coming, which is one of my favorite albums of all time. So while I somewhat agree with Tanner, I still think Aaron's the best guy they could have connected with.Also, these songs take time to sink in, at least for me.

Everyone needs to quit comparing them to the old Of Mice & Men and move on. Think of them as a new band if that helps you. As much as I love the old Of Mice & Men they aren't coming back. And Austin will be missed but he wasn't the only reason Of Mice & Men has been such a great band over the years. The rest of the band are amazing musicians and Aaron is a great vocalist. Imo this albumn is a huge improvement over both cold war and restoring force sound wise. I agree in some songs lyrically it could be better but other than that I think it's a great albumn. If you don't like it don't listen to it. But don't bash people for Ydg'ing.
To be honest, aside from the new singer, I never really heard much change. It's like me and Bring me the Horizon, people complained about them changing yet all they did was a few experimental songs here and there. Long story short, I'm with ya man, I don't see much (or anything) to complain about and each band has the right to make any songs they want.

People need to realise cold world was differant becuase of austins condition at the time it was still a good album i think and restoring force was great as were the rest of omam albums were but this one is awesome

he did, the lyrics don't point at anything being negative, but it's probably a song talking about Austin wanting to sing, but he can't because he has his health (picking sides)

Guys, the old metalcore sound is dead. and it has been. it kicked ass about a decade ago, but the whole drop-c# orange distortion peddal screamy breakdown age is dead, the whole buisness was saturated with that shit for years. everyone did it, omam, aa, other aa, aas, iss, adtr, je, miw, i can literally go on for fucking hours. If of mice really stayed with that sound, theyd become irrelivant quick, just like the bands whove tried to recreate it. they cant rise above for a reason. They made the smart move, they wanted their old sound but didnt want it to be fucking childish, so they created metalcore with their new sound. and it fucking worked, as far as i can tell. Of mice and mens music always used to be generally upbeat and happy, but after restoring force they went dark fast. The closest thing to a fast breakdown we got on cold world was the end of The Lie, and that album was awesome for what it was, but man. did they come back. Its upbeat, its exciting, its fucking raw and its a big fuck you to everyone who thought austin leaving would block their path

This song sounds TOO Of Mice & Men yaknow? The structure of this song sounds like it was written while Carlile was still in the band or something... Just goes to show that OM&M definitely has their own sound, that has surprisingly maintained its status throughout ALL the changes. Like, say they sound like whoever you want, but when OM&M comes on, you know immediately who they are... But thats just me, I'm also really baked rn.
