  • You don't have to sit through the 3 hour Live Video!
This is the Live Video I took of the Lunar Eclipse on November the 8th. I sped up the entire video to just under a minute and 30 Seconds. It moves around quite a bit because I had a Sigma 600mm Lens attached to a Canon DLSR on the Skywatcher 2i. It is way too Heavy for that mount. Also it is difficult to keep in focus in video mode and has much less control than taking images. The images are not nearly as sharp as the could be. I'm hopeful that Trever Jones over ‪@AstroBackyard‬ will make a video in the future about capturing the moon with a CCD camera. (Most of what I know about Astrophotography I learned from him and Nico Carver over ‪@NebulaPhotos‬ I am sure that this would have come out much better on the telescope but doing it on a live would've had its own challenges as well. I could've probably went live and done a Screen Share of the ASIAir app running. I used the EOS Webcam utility to initially record this and then downloaded my own live video which resulted in further noise and focus problems.
