This feels to me like one of those projects that would become featured on Bright Sun Films' Abandoned series if there was even a slight economic downturn. Let's hope it actually finishes and opens and thrives.
Appreciate the update man! The steel workers assembling the coaster told me that the building at 1:27 is another hotel. They'll be comstructing that one once they finish the steel work on the administrative/corporate building across 95th avenue at 6:35! We've been on a massive road trip and were hoping more work would happen to do an update ourselves, but the lack of progress, even on barbie beach houses's foundation work has been very sad to see. Dont see any of it opening until closer to next summer now.
From what I undertake from doing the underground here, they keep re doing plans and they need to be approved by the city of Glendale, but hey that means more work for me🤷♂️
When is this thing opening? Is 2024 still a I’ll possibility? Fall 2024 is the opening right? Or did they already announce a delay and push it into 2025?
It's so massive, get a feeling financing has become a bit of an issue with this developer. It hasn't exactly been full speed ahead, except for the amusement park side of things.
Running out of money, conflicts happening (Crystal Lagoons involvement was a sign). With a 28yr old CEO at the helm (appointed via his family $$$ legacy), should be the first "Red Flag". Much of the capitol provided by a massive $ penalty when the contracted work on updating the Border wall was cancelled. IMO it's 3-4x too big, should have been built in phases rather than a "BUILD IT AND THEY WILL COME" mentality. It's an appeasement to every possible user but without noting the conflicts that will occur. Think a large business convention will seek this locale (from more traditional Desert Ridge Resort/similar options), with nightclub guests, ambient concert noise and collateral factors going on? It's not Las Vegas....
Oh man. Much of what was crops and empty fields are now hundreds of multi family homes and commercial buildings. And out by the 303 is building up like crazy now
It definitely has slowed down. The concrete pouring team is behind schedule and that's caused delays to the other teams. The iron assembly team is currently building the administrative/ corporate building across the street. Then they'll start building the other hotel at 1:27
Remember when this was supposed to be done by the Super Bowl.... And here we are still ..

Yeah it seems to be way behind schedule from the feedback in the comments.
@@hackfreehvac yeah, the steel assembly crew has seen my updates so they gave me the whole run down last time I was out there filming 😂😂

This is no where near being completed. They will be lucky to open by late 2025, probably more likely in early 2026.
They better have TONS of security at this place. Lots of riff raff. Bad location to put this resort. Rough area.

Great update. Keep em coming!

awesome video!
Man... I haven't been up there in a few years. I'd not be recognizing a lot of stuff!!

Thanks for the update. It looks like work has slowed down some. Maybe it’s just my imagination.
It does to look that way but maybe the work just isn't as noticeable?

THEY ARE OUT OF MONEY!!!!! This project is in serious jeopardy of being completed. Construction has slowed down substantially. Not a good sign.
Oh man that would suck.
Seems like they moved ahead on another building. But the roller coaster part has looked the same for months now.
