      Pvs 31 and Gpnvg would be cool to do too. The thing is it's really hard to do these things without step by step constant ongoing and restarting course.

    This digital/analog tube setup seems really interesting. I like that it doesn't look to restrict you to one or the other so it can be built on a lower budget and upgraded further down the road. I'd definitely like to see how well the digital works side by side with an analog tube.

  • @uncleyoda1834
    @uncleyoda1834 Год назад +2

    you know what would be an interesting idea? take the Gen 4 PVS-69 image intensifier tubes, place them into a PVS-5 housing (from a pair that don't work obviously, gutting them would be a pain though) and using PVS-31 replica bridge to make a PVS-105 (or PVS-5-69, not good at naming things lol), essentially a combination of all three. The only major difference being that instead of contacts, you have wires come directly out of the tubes, similar to the originals. not sure how that'd work tho.

    It wouldn't be terribly difficult to swap the IR drone camera with a thermal sensor. With a little bit of work, you could even overlay the thermal image onto the image from an IR camera feed and have a set of hybrid NODs.

    • @vonscherfarms925
      @vonscherfarms925  Год назад +2

      i actually do plan to pop a thermal core in one im sure it would fit. overlay is a totally different beast and not really supported with the video signal we are using.

    • @BuckFoeJiden
      @BuckFoeJiden Год назад

      @@vonscherfarms925 you can do it via ghosting, but it's not exactly a pretty solution.
      You basically run both inputs into the same monitor, with a sliding resistance switch (like a dimmer switch on lights) on each. Gives you control over which signal is dominant, and even the ability to run one or the other.

    • @vonscherfarms925
      @vonscherfarms925  Год назад

      @@BuckFoeJiden are you sure that works with CVBS? all the information i found says that combining them just makes static

    • @BuckFoeJiden
      @BuckFoeJiden Год назад

      @@vonscherfarms925 I'm not 100%, but I see no reason why it wouldn't as long as the signal isn't overpowering the inputs ability to read the signal.
      From everything I've done in AV, signal strength is the biggest factor. That's why the dimmer switches are important.
      Try it with two regular camera inputs and see if you can get them to ghost, assuming you have the sliding resistance switches to wire it up.

    • @BuckFoeJiden
      @BuckFoeJiden Год назад

      @@vonscherfarms925 the only foreseeable problem I can come up with would be figuring out exactly how to splice the inputs into the monitor.
      I'd imagine if you're using something like a raspberry pi to feed the stream into your monocular, you'd need to run two boards. One for your digital camera, and another for the thermal sensor, then a sliding resistance switch behind each board, and from the switches, they'd be spliced together into the monitor.
      I'm sure there's info out there on how to ghost video signals that's more up to date or accurate, though.

I've used 14s in the military bit I'm curious how the depth perception is? I'm guessing it's like anything else, just practice with them. Also do they auto adjust for cqb to open fields on its own?

    • @TruthPrevails24
      @TruthPrevails24 11 месяцев назад

      i’m pretty sure walking with him is really easy I just one dude who posted like a minute and a half video of him just walking out in the woods and I mean with no IR only like 25% noon he could see just fine and he could walk with him the field of view is pretty good. It seems like I’m not sure cause you can’t really tell through camera. But you can definitely see where you’re going and that’s definitely a plus for being around 500 bucks to build yourself 400 if you get really lucky.

      It's more a web site for a very small niche of people who know already 90% of the NVG etc.

    So are you going to be selling built tubes or just parts kits? It would be worth it to me to pay you to build mine instead of trying to build it knowing way less than you do… and then maybe build a set after I get one up and running

      Yes. The lens guy I’ve been working with has now packaged the lens for the DIIT in the same format as a PVS-14 lens so with those two things you could convert a PVS-14 or other units
