TBH, Brahmastra is neither good nor bad. VFX is top notch no doubt but if you are gonna find Story in this Part of the movie then it's all about love and more than a bit of action sequences. Cameo roles of legendary actors like srk and Nagarujna Sir is 'sone pe suhaga' and Mouni Roy as a villain is on another level though we have seen her as herioine not as villain but she did absolutely fantastic job and Ranbir and Alia's acting is superb.
Except Cameo and VFX whole movie was torture.. This movie is for Nibba Nibbi with 10th class k laundo k bakchodi wale dialogues..

Mouni Roy is the only reason why you should watch the movie she along with nagarjuna was the only character who were fully devoted into their character... Even Shahrukh khan was very good but Ranbir and alia weren't even average compared to them... Whole focus was on vfx And they are good... But still love story thing make it big default... I agree with you the storyline could be better

According to me VFX of the film is brilliant but it was sold on the basis of hindu mythology but it didn't give much of it, the story was about brahmastra but when they say love is above all the astras then what is the use of astras? The movie revolved mostly around the love story and didn't give the background about the astras.. it was like astras are just a cameo in the love story... The dialogues were also cringeworthy.. l feel that if the movie was not sold on the name of our mythology and sages so it cud have been good but since it neglected the concept so it was a disappointment for me..

Alia was ilaachi in biryaani. The dialogs were cringe...( obviously bahubali se compare karri thi mai to) , story line was pathetic... in the image of Parvat and Kaali Maa... audience was fooled.. People are just going theaters to watch it for its VFX . Even there is no chemistry between Ranbir Alia.. or it was unnecessary... but it didn't connect... like it was very irritating. Isse to VFX gaming zone chale jaao.
Even if part 1 was bit underwhelming, I'm still excited for part 2 and hopeful that it will turn out to be better.

BRAHMASTRA is good but not so much as the hype it had. Mouni roy performance was really amazing and loved her work . They could have done so much with the cast and story but still it was good to see something different in bollywood
I have seen this movie in theatre in IMAX and trust me my experience was amazing. Story was little bit slow but the vfx is just on another level and mouni damn she literally stole the whole limelight. She played her character with full determination. Her acting is just lit and what can I say about Shah Rukh, his 15 min cameo was outstanding. Plus I'm very excited for Deepika padukone's role in part 2. Amitabh bachaan and nagarjuna sir were great.

Story bakwas, concept acha hai par uska presentation bakwas, Dilouges bakwas, shiva aur isha matlab lord shiva aur devi parvati unki story bhi dikhate toh bhi acha starting hota likin woh bhi nhi. Astras ko achi explain kiya jaa sakta tha ki kis tarah ye sab ancient India se judde hain woh bhi nhi kiya. Ayan Mukerji ne kahan tha ki ye Indian spirituality aur culture ke baare mein zyada focused hoga woh kahan tha film me?
Sirf VFX dikhane se film chalti hai kya?
I think it's a decent start. Given, this is the first time bollywood is doing something like this. I hope the next movie will be even better. They'll know what the audiences want. They'll probably work on the dialogues and hopefully there will be no unnecessary songs and cringy love stories.

When I saw this movie in theater it meant movie story was a bit confusing and VFX is just amazing..If you watch it in theatre, you might like it. The movie was average but when I saw the trailer then I thought something different would happen but it's okay..But I would like to say Mouni Roy stole the show 🔥👏

I watched the film in theater and loved it. Yes, i felt the love story is a bit dragged but it's worth a try. It's definitely NOT a flop film. I have been seeing so many negative reviews even before the film is released. I am guessing these are from the people who don't like Karan Johar or trying to earn some pennies by using negative light that Karan/Ranbir has.
To be honest, i somehow felt the same about Bahubali part 1. The track between Tamanna and Prabhas was dragged but when i saw part 2, i loved it. So, this might be the case for this movie also.
People are unnecessarily spreading too much hate to this film and trying all ways to make this a flop film.
But audience who actually went to the theaters to watch... are liking it and are not claiming it as a bad film!!!

I respect your opinion.....but as a new generation boy I didn't like it much....the story line is so boring.... screen play was very very poor....the action scenes of ranbir are not that good....VFX were quite good.....but without VFX this is nothing but a disaster...

Let's all accept that the first installment sets of Marvel movies didn't do well. For example Thor, and Hulk.
These movies only with sequels and gradual story developments make it a worthy package.

Though i don't compare Brahmastra to these western superheo main based movies but the point you are saying is accurate.. each things get better by time.. i really like brahmastra's 1st part as well and it also had created hype which will make audience wait for it's other parts.. and i ssrly never liked any superhero's like mc or dc.. never ever, neither their startup nor other parts.. only one movie i liked somewhat which was like a particular somewhat from fairytale character was Malificent.. others superhero based hollywood films are cringe as hell.. they have no great story only some creatures from different planet to destroy and only vfx, fighting whereas brahmastra even set up for some years back then.. till now the story is good overall compared to these overhyped mcs or dcs

I watched this film today, and i absolutely loved it.. idk why people are viewing it as a disappointment..
Though i felt that Alia and Ranbir's relationship required a bit more time to develop fully especially in the beginning.. but except for that I absolutely loved this film
I was very exited...after watching movie..it had all sort of stupid romance and honestly Alia was not even required still she took 40% of screen time..please do not waste your money like I did.

I’ve got 5 solid reasons for not liking the movie :
1. Ranbir’s and Alia’s dialogue delivery was not good
2. The dialogues spoken in the movie doesn’t match the class of the movie. Feels like some 3rd Grade movie
3. The over romantic scenes were just ugh!
4. Ranbir and Alia both looked very confused and didn’t give the right expressions
5. See If you are making a movie from so long then please get in the character and give your best which Ranbir and Alia completely ignored
Otherwise the movie has strong storyline and Shahrukh, Mouni, Amitabh and Nagarjun were fabulous and only they carried the whole movie
PS : just a personal opinion.
For me 5 reasons to watch it.
1) the vfx is fabulous watch in 3D and you will get the feeling
2) hindu mythology representing how the astra and hindu gods are so powerful and beautiful,the festival etc.
3) the acting of Mouni was fabulous, and srks Cameo is just like a cherry on cake.
4) might be shown over love story but comeon every movie has their drawbacks and the movie is absolutely worth for me
5) by supporting they will make 2 nd part and surely will do changes on the story line 2 nd part would be the best

@@sinchan2819 beta Mythology won't exists it's Indian History. Bheje me ghusa lo. Astras are ancient weapons used during battles of Mahabharata aur ussey bhi pehle. Aur jaha tak baat rahi movie ki to uska kuch relation nahi hai Indian History se.
Movie is good but too slow. And how ranbir alia became soulmates after 1st meeting is cringe.
i also liked the movie and the story was also fine for me bcoz i didn't expected much some of the scenes did give u goosebumps but one thing is true if they had build up the story more around astras it would have done a wonder.... the dialogues were not well written but than also mouni roy and amitabh bachan's work was awesome
I can point out for the story being written for audience prior 2015 who loved jokes on anything and love stories were their nemesis. I hope you also understand the VFX might be of this time but the story was not. Hope they enter to the preference of this decade with the other parts of the trilogy
I don’t get it, why do people this that people before 2015 loved love stories, we loved Delhi belly over average stories, remember wake up Sid ? It wasn’t even about love, that was just an added ingredient.
I understand the movies i mentioned weren’t massy movies, but they became important stories to be told, they became rewatch material. Sadly people didn’t understand audience at that time too. We were so excited to watch Kai po che, it was not about live story again. Chak de was biggest hit too.
As an individual perspective Marvel ticket cost Rs 250 also Brahmastra ticket cost Rs 250 therefore as a cinema goer why shouldn't I compare these movies. This over sympathizing attitude has weaken the bollywood which is why they are struggling for better stories and going for remakes.
is it the case with literally everyone ..we expected it to be more of astra verse and less of love but what we got was vice versa ... yet i would say it was a good movie ✨I want it to do well so that we can get part 2 3... and so on and expect Ayan to explore more of Indian anciant mythology more in comming parts

I’m just happy that someone from bollywood or Indian decided to make a film like this & it is the first time a film like this has been made in India so mistakes will be there✨ but if see overall it’s a good movie. Looks like PR team of Brahmastra has found this video. Most love this movie in comment section even though in reality it was hugely disappointing . People had given such scathing reviews. Most theatres are also 90% free as most people didn't even go.

It was good not bad as people said. Mouni mam had given her best performance on it. If anyone wanna look it then saw it if no that's doesn't mean anyone judged the movie.
I went to the theater with open mind. I'm a fan of Ranbir and Ayan. I was expecting to get sucked into a world of mystery but all I got was a light show. They went too far with the vfx. I know it's just the first part and two more are to come, but you should engage audience for the upcoming movie. I'm gonna pass part 2.
I think the film should have explored the internal struggles of Shiva and how is able to use the astras instead of the poorly written love story comparing this movie to raone i think raone is a lot better raone isn't that great of a movie but it definitely didn't focus on a love story and tried introducing new concepts
I felt that it was a excellent movie , i didn't like the love story part because of the dialogues because it sound clingy and it felt that lines has the same vibe as the movies of 2012-2013
I agree on this point that if this story was released in the last few years without hype then people would have loved it and audience will go watch it but this type of storyline is outdated(romantic one)

I think we should give it a chance i know it has some flaws but everyone in my theatre enjoyed and were chanting only love story part is bit dragged otherwise nice start of a universe in india even attempting something like this need guts🔥💯(and one more thing people compared hindi advance of rrr with brahmashtra hindi not total all languages do some proper research before making video 🤦🏻♂️)

There is a difference between cancel and boycott. Cancel means we are stopping you from making movies and boycott means we are not interested in watching movies. People are trying to boycott bollywood movies. Noone is saying for cancelling it. Bollywood can make movie whatever it wants but people will decide whether to watch or not.
Actually I think love story was also not that good... It doesn't feel like connection... From the starting they fall in love.. We don't get along that journey of love story so i personally felt like ki the love story is forced in a story which could have done wonders if we could have got astras...
The truth is the acting of Ranbir & Alia after the interval becomes cringeworthy to watch!! The dialogue delivery was such a pain to the ears..The VFX is no doubt top notch, never seen in any indian movie! But the climax should have been an epic fight between Ranbir & Mouni roy.. It was surely foolish to make SRK & Nagarjuna die in the first part of this film. Instead the Director should have worked on a scene where both Vanarastra & Nandi astra make an appearance again in the climax helping Ranbir who could be in distress after a huge fight with the evil! This would have created more thrills in the cinema halls!
It's not outstanding film but not boring or trash either. Definitely worth one time watch. 2nd part is definitely exciting for me the way they have ended it. I would say this movie is still better than most of the stuff that is being produced in the industry right now.

Yes it was about love cause the motive was to showcase love as the strongest weapon! It wanted to prove that love and positivity could overcome even the strongest Astra! So it explains why there was a love story!

The movie had a new storyline, outstanding vfx and decent screenplay. The dialogues and the romance were cringey and weird. The overall attempt should be applauded as it is niche genre and very new to the indian audience, especially those who are not acquainted with marvel etc. People kept comparing it with the MCU which I believe is a bit unfair and biased as even MCU struggled in its initial days. I hope part 2 does better and learns from its mistakes

It was a good movie we watched it yesterday, I liked it!
I know the movie wasn't perfect but i think what ayan's idea is that just introducing us to the astra wolrd in the first part jaise jaise shiva learns the truth about himself and the main juicy stuff is in the second part like the history behind everything. And i think it actually makes sense

I had in my mind that there'll be a love story and like how can people totally ignore that there can't not be one when clearly in the trailer there were some very cringy dialogues. Ofc the film was a masterpiece interms of vfx, all kuddos to the team, but i wish the love story part was a well written and realistic one cuz being a girl i won't ever ask my stalker "kaun ho tum" to his "kya ho tum", lol.
And regarding the 10 year wala drama, i feel that there are a lot of ways by which people interpret other's work, so maybe some people did sympathized w Ayan's 10 yr project. It's their perception so idts that it's a good place to say that the peoples are being "melodramatic" in this case.
I watched the movie on 9th September and let me tell you yes the movie was definitely entertaining. I loved it. Although to my opinion the love story part was not even necessary in this movie still it was pushed into it. That was the only thing i think is overdone. Rest movie is really good. VFX was great level also. I think you should definitely watch it once for sure.

Well this movie was supposed to be about knowledge about our sanatan culture and about different astra if they hadn't focused on stupid Love story and had portrayed more of bhramastra knowledge it would have been decent but bollywood will still remain the same I am totally disappointed why can't they make a single movie without a bloody love story
I think the movie was okay okay. I think first of all the main mistake was how they made the image of movie. In trailer it felt this film is about Shiva and his powers and all but this story focused more on love love love. I was honestly liking the ending until they inserted that this all happened because of love too. A person goes too see the movie by thinking that it will be more better than trailer. But showing all good VFX scenes in trailer and then in the movie it's just about love story then obviously will be disappointed. Secondly they shouldn't have promoted it as "something new" "first Astraverse film" and all coz the movie barely told anything about Astraverse and just linked everything to love ki power. And i think they should be careful coz what they are making is actually fictional the power and Astras they mentioned didn't ever existed in reality. Coz like they showed that the Astras can be taken easily from someone but in reality the Astras were part of a person it disappeared with the person after their death and can't be taken from that person. Thirdly if this movie is not liked by people then they will be reluctant to go to see the second part dev. As it is also giving romantic vibes. Do premi par kartavya aur junoon ke kaaran ladne ke maidaan ek srishti ko bachane ke liye ek srishti ko barbad krne ke liye. Exact plot of typical romantic movie. But i hope they take lesson from this movie reviews and lessen the love factor from upcoming parts. And i am actually excited to see the Dev part coz they portrayed him as someone evil and power hungry. And a person like him as main character will make the movie interesting that too if they show him evil and not insert typical Bollywood rule that Hero is always right and mahaan

Wasn't it marketed as portraying love as the strongest? Yes the ending explained how love was Shiva trigger point it's actually very possible cause we always do things because of motives same with Shiva he became an astra to protect his love whts wrong in it?
SPOILERS:
VFX was amazing, background score also played a major role. I believe Ranbir and Alia's acting lacked the depth, maybe because it was shot 10 years ago and both of them had grown as an actor. I personally didn't connected with the love story either as it felt too rushed. She told a guy the next day she met him that she is his Parvati and went on an adventure trip with him, and he fell in love with her within 3 days. Alia's role was limited to a mere typical bollywood heroine just supporting the hero. And lastly the dialogues were too cringy, I specifically don't like this hinglish language use in a movie like this. Comparing Bhramastra to pizza, really😭. Too many plotholes in the story. It failed in creating an astraverse. Lastly, Mouni roy and Nagarjuna were the only two gems whose screen presence didn't made me laugh, they were perfect in their part. Shahrukh too even though his "bandar genda" thing again made me cringe but that's the fault of writing.
Unpopular opinion: I feel Ayaan Mukherjee is overrated. He directed only two movies before Bharamastra , out of which I liked "Wake up Sid" but for me YJHD wasn't that great. So I won't lay my full trust in his 2 movies old career when we have much experienced and better directors like Rajamouli, Bhansaali and Rakesh Om Prakash Mehra. He is just Karan Johar's overpromoted result.

I liked the concept. I liked the action scenes. Editing was amazing. Songs were also good. But there was no story. It was a nibba nibbi love story. Both the characters were shown so immature. Do din ka pyaar itna strong ho jata hai ki she becomes the "button" of his power. 😑. I had better expectations. 😔

The problem is not that the love concept got outdated. This whole thing has been deliberately done to humiliate our Vedic knowledge.Ayaan had started working on a movie called Dragon which was based on Rumi’s philosophy. He had to change it to cater to the rising nationalism in the country but what he did was he kept the Rumi’s philosophy which teaches that love is the most powerful thing in the universe. So he kept Rumi’s philosophy in the movie so subtly that no one noticed and made love more powerful than the astras. Astras are a sources of power which you have to achieve through tough penance and making sacrifices in life. Hinduism does talk about love transcending time and material world but it has no relation to astras because astras are the sources of great power in the material world. If 1% I consider that may be the movie is not made to propagate Rumi’s philosophy over our Vedas then why does Bollywood have to keep making movies about Hindu history when they clearly don’t understand any of it?

If Hrithik Roshan or Ranveer Singh played Shiva, and the romance reduced, and someone else like Katrina Kaif or Deepika played Isha, then the movie might have been on a different level. Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhat are the most overrated actors in the film industry. And their chemistry is so awkward on screen.
Please do not say Katrina Kaif.. If the storyline was not good what could alia do.. And Katrina Kaif was casted as Isha people would have more criticized it.. Because Katrina still can't speak hindi properly.. And Deepika will play the role of Amrita(Ranbir Kapoor's mother) in the second part
Ranbir is a good actor.. Storyline and dialogues were not that good, that's the reason why you felt like that.. Other than dialogue delivery he did a pretty good job according to me

I liked the film overall. But there were times where the expressions were quite low and dull which did not match with the vfxs and the energy. One scene particularly i want to mention where ranbir plays with fire like making fire balls with hands but his eyes and expressions were like enacting a blind person. Clearly it felt like the fireballs are out of his vision.

I agree with all points mentioned by you. Also, dialogue writing is extremely bad. Intro of the characters could have been much better. And cameos are veryyyy nice(except Deepika portraying Ranbeer’s mom 😅😅). I guess the villain Dev might be Ranveer Singh!!! What do u think??? I just don't understand people not liking the movie not only the vfx but the actors acting and the way love story was the connection between astra of Shiva yes obviously it will be a bit outdated cause the script was written 10 years back but still it is a lot more beautiful than the love stories in the movies from now I honestly loved it ♥️ can't wait for 2nd part

For me, the VFX was bad, action scenes were choppy and the script was cringe at times. At some point, it felt like a mixture of Avatar: the last airbender, Harry Potter, Star Wars and Twilight. But, I did like the suspense which they built for Dev and Amrita and the knowledge of Astra.
Well i saw the movie. It didnt meet the expectation i had.
There are many flaws and faults in movies.
Mouni roy did great performance than alia and ranbeer.
Forceful love story, no connections between frames.
Sequel are made in all the languages , if you see many movies managed to create the love for 2nd part but here it felt like skipped many things
I agree the story is outdated I felt the same..if this was released in 2014 or 2015 it would be a super hit but now because of Avenger movies and more web series people started liking concept movies rather than love story movies
We should appreciate movies like these although the story is average but you can't deny that makers tried their level best to create something new to Indian audiance and it's doing quite well in cinemas.

Yeh jawani h jawani is a masterpiece ! Its not only about love story.. Its about friendship, love, life, aim of life.. And all actors did amazing acting. Like shy naina to gorgeous naina.. Her friends aditi gang.. How a introvert girl naina wanted to go on a solo trip and gained so many good friends and life experiences.... And also the music album of that movie was blockbuster.. Badtameez dil, ghaghra, kabira, balam pichkaari
One thing i want to say that Ayaan is a very smart person he knowingly made a movie which is worth of watching mainly because of its super VFX and not for its story as people are already complaining about movie not having any specific story , the makers definitely knew that in the present time the movies gets leaked online very easily so it would be waste to make a movie having just a good story cause once it gets leaked online then no one gonna watch there movie in theatre which will affect the movie buisness but now the movie is leaked online but hardly any one is interested in watching that leaked version because the experience you get watching this movie in 3D at theatres is one of its kind and that is the biggest plus point for this movie , this movie is only made to be watched in 3D only , the VFX are really good , i would say it was definitely a smart move by the makers of the movie. 👍
