As you already mentioned, a Pride Flag might as well be a PvP flag in game. It all depends on if the devs would intentionally tank the game and the company because they value ideology over money. Seems to be standard practice for most entertainment industries these days.

Some quick examples: The beta had an option in the dialogue to attack the vampire twink after he attacks you, but they removed it in the release version to force you to sit through all his dialogue trying to make you like him. The demon who offers to remove the vile disgusting parasite from your brain will outright refuse to do it if you agree, because they don't care about meaningful choices, just the appearance of them. It's not possible to even try and make the tieflings leave the druid's grove peacefully. The tiefling leader just immediately attacks you when you tell him the druid lady says they need to leave. There's no option to even *attempt* diplomacy. And all this, and much more, is still only the first chapter.

And some things, like instantly ending the game in act one via a demon, are cut for plot. what gets me the most about this is that we all know GW does not give a F about female representation. I've been a Custodes/SOS fan for years. GW has never give an opportunity to the SOS to shine. The only book I can think of where the SOS are the protagonist, and not just a background character is the series "Watchers of the Throne: The Emperor's Legion" , and that has only two books. They much rather get woke points than to actually give strong women and opportunity.

Something that’s bothered me to no end, yet I’ve never been able to find the words to describe it until now, is how there is a bunch of people that get annoyed with politics in everything… or being shoehorned into everything. Now don’t get me wrong, ideally I’d love to keep real world politics out of some stuff, but realistically it is impossible. I have now found the best way to describe what I mean, I realize that it is the exact same with libertarianism. You can be a pacifist, you can be libertarian, you can choose to try and avoid politics in games… However, there will ALWAYS be people that want the exact opposite, and they don’t care how much of a pacifist or libertarian or anti-politics you are. They will not hesitate to walk all over you. They don’t care that you don’t want politics, to them it means less competition so they can shove their politics and ideology in. Even if you choose to not vote, and are a live and let live kind of person saying “as long as they let me do me”…. Any tyrant will see that as a prime opportunity to walk all over you which is why inherently libertarianism is a fallacy as well as pacifism. Take the German invasion of Poland for example. Sure you could point to Switzerland…. Yes Switzerland had declared their neutrality, they did not choose to be a pacifist. They understood that any tyrant could just walk all over them if they did. So they conscripted all of their citizens, put explosives in all of their bridges, put artillery bunkers in all of their hillsides. They chose to stand for what they believe in and would quite literally die on that hill while taking as many invaders with them as they could. In the end, the point I am trying to get at is that being anti-politics, and even libertarian and pacifist (not necessarily all at once) is inherently flawed because it is based on the merit that everyone else thinks the exact same way.
Really hoping the Helldivers devs stay away from it all. Time will tell but that's sadly always a metric we have to watch. This CM is definitely a red flag.

As you already mentioned, a Pride Flag might as well be a PvP flag in game. People will see pride flags and deliberately target those people, which will further divide the community and just kill the game true and proper. They will either remove the capes, and the people who want them will leave. Or they will ban people for teamkilling, which will lead to mass waves of false reports and everyone will quit. For Helldivers its a Lose-Lose situation if they do add it. And I really highly doubt anyone at Arrowhead does not know this
It all depends on if the devs would intentionally tank the game and the company because they value ideology over money. Seems to be standard practice for most entertainment industries these days.

The beta had an option in the dialogue to attack the vampire twink after he attacks you, but they removed it in the release version to force you to sit through all his dialogue trying to make you like him.
The demon who offers to remove the vile disgusting parasite from your brain will outright refuse to do it if you agree, because they don't care about meaningful choices, just the appearance of them.
It's not possible to even try and make the tieflings leave the druid's grove peacefully. The tiefling leader just immediately attacks you when you tell him the druid lady says they need to leave. There's no option to even *attempt* diplomacy.
And all this, and much more, is still only the first chapter.

Something that’s bothered me to no end, yet I’ve never been able to find the words to describe it until now, is how there is a bunch of people that get annoyed with politics in everything… or being shoehorned into everything. Now don’t get me wrong, ideally I’d love to keep real world politics out of some stuff, but realistically it is impossible. I have now found the best way to describe what I mean, I realize that it is the exact same with libertarianism.
You can be a pacifist, you can be libertarian, you can choose to try and avoid politics in games… However, there will ALWAYS be people that want the exact opposite, and they don’t care how much of a pacifist or libertarian or anti-politics you are. They will not hesitate to walk all over you. They don’t care that you don’t want politics, to them it means less competition so they can shove their politics and ideology in. Even if you choose to not vote, and are a live and let live kind of person saying “as long as they let me do me”…. Any tyrant will see that as a prime opportunity to walk all over you which is why inherently libertarianism is a fallacy as well as pacifism.
Take the German invasion of Poland for example. Sure you could point to Switzerland…. Yes Switzerland had declared their neutrality, they did not choose to be a pacifist. They understood that any tyrant could just walk all over them if they did. So they conscripted all of their citizens, put explosives in all of their bridges, put artillery bunkers in all of their hillsides. They chose to stand for what they believe in and would quite literally die on that hill while taking as many invaders with them as they could.
In the end, the point I am trying to get at is that being anti-politics, and even libertarian and pacifist (not necessarily all at once) is inherently flawed because it is based on the merit that everyone else thinks the exact same way.
