I get perfume FOMO when I see a perfume priced for an incredible deal and I know that's usually because it's been discontinued and will be hard to find soon. That strategy has actually paid off very well. I jumped on Guerlain for instance when the prices came down to crazy affordable levels a few years back. I was able to get Mitsouko, L'Heure Bleu, Idyll, L'Instant, Champs Elysees, Black Perfecto in their original bottles for maybe $30 bucks each. Now I couldn't afford my own collection!
Idylle for 30 bucks??!! What a steal!! It's my favourite Guerlain perfume, just on top of l'instant Magic, and I considered myself lucky when 2 years ago I ordered it for 75€ for 75ml on the Julia (Spain) or Notino sites! I stopped shopping my perfumes on Sephora a long time (150€ today for Idylle 😲) ago bc even when they do 25% sale, the greed is too much!! Right before Covid perfumes prices started rising and since then they have rocketed to insane levels!! They don't match the quality that should be attached to such price tags (which used to be for niche perfumes!!) , sometimes their longevity is poor and often the originality isn't there, not much variety. At least with the historical houses I'm not disappointed. But to be honest I won't be purchasing a Guerlain perfume for a while, although my Idylle bottle is nearing the end... But I've got plenty of perfumes so that's fine 😁 It's a Spanish brand that does amazing "inspired" (dupes 😁) perfumes for 30€ (often discounted) and it's great to find some discontinued perfumes (like Love from Chloë, the one with the fine gold chain, I adore it and it smells exactly like it!) Their great quality bottles all look the same though, only the number changes. But I don't mind bc I can now afford perfumes I could not anymore, the positive feeling once I smell it is exactly the same than when I smell thee original ones, it makes feel good and the longevity is really nice! Salaries haven't risen at the same greedy rates than perfumes, too bad. I don't mind paying for quality and great ingredients but I certainly don't want to pay expensive prices for mostly expensive marketing!
I definitely got FOMO when I learned Elizabeth & James was closing. I scurried to stock up. Another time I rushed to get a back up bottle of Cologne of the Missions Le Couvent Maison de Parfum. No regrets.
I miss Atelier Cologne! You can still find them on discounters, but they haven't been available in the US for a while now, pretty much since they got bought by L'Oreal. Cafe Tuberosa, Blanche Immortelle, and Pomelo Paradis are my favorites, but I love a lot of their fragrances. They were my first experience with niche too! I'm in the FOMO stage right now with L'Artisan. They discontinued a lot of their classics, and it's really hard to find them now for decent prices. I try not to get sucked into looking for rare fragrances, but it's hard! Thanks for talking about this, it's made me realize that a lot of other people feel this way too.
The Body Shop U.S. website has gone dark (not sure about the stores). It says that they are "due to be back online soon." According to CBC, they are closing 33 stores in Canada and ending online sales.
Body Shop was sold off and yes company who purchased has placed the UK stores into Administration. In Ireland, company has been put into liquidation, all stores have been closed and staff were told over zoom, they would not be paid for the last 3 weeks they have worked.
Hi! Just a friendly note to share that if you love orange 🍊 scented perfumes, you might really enjoy one called “magnetic candy” by fine’ry To my nose it was a strong very sweetly scented orange 🍊 perfume. Almost like a candied orange!
Love the Atelier Orange Sanguine Absolu, it's one of the first perfumes i got when i started collecting fragrances as well.. It fits so perfectly where i'm from - which is the Philippines. You can almost taste the freshly squeezed orange just by smelling it.😊
I wore a signature scent from when it was released in 1981 until November 2023...and I have a small stash still. It has long been discontinued. My daughter encouraged me to expand my fragrance horizons, which I have done. I now have almost 90 fragrances in my collection, not counting BBW. I DO enjoy AA Mandarine Basilic, and you might enjoy Chloé Rose Tangerine. I have not tried any of the Atelier line...but I very diligently and successfully tracked down Miss Dior 2017 EDP...because of its blood orange top note. I don't only enjoy citric fragrances...just so you know. My recent "holy grail" acquisition has been a bottle of YSL's Babycat. I also have a bottle of Paris Corner's Rifaaqat, which is a dupe...and I thought I would have to use that instead...but the stars aligned and I found the Babycat!!! I also found some Bottega Veneta and Si Fiore. I do not want to be in the position again if I can help it of missing out on a discontinued fragrance. Soooo...because of my first experience...I do have a bit of FOMO.
@@stellarose5887 Somewhat the same, but Rifaaqat isn't as long-lasting. I put Rifaaqat on one wrist and Babycat on the other. Rifaaqat had run out of steam after a couple of hours, while Babycat was still giving at 6 hours.
I definitely had FOMO when Atelier Cologne was pulled from Sephora. Clémentine California has become an easy favourite. Luckily, I live near one of the Canadian L'Oréal warehouses and was able to go to the public sales. I now have a lot of the Atelier Cologne line. I had to stop myself from buying them all because I really don't need that many.
I get FOMO when a perfume is heavily discounted cause that usually means it's on its way out. I noticed Jimmy Choo I Want Choo has been discounted very heavily recently and I think it will be gone relatively soon. What a shame. It's such a nice fragrance.
My biggest FOMO was getting a bottle of Donna Born in Roma Pink PP. It was limited edition and it was getting scarce. I did get it, but the purchase caused a lot of anxiety!
I absolutely LOVE Atelier Cologne! I'm sad it is so hard to find them. (I'm in the US.) Orange Sanguine is my 2nd favorite. I can still find it here and there. Vanille Insensee, my favorite, I can't find anywhere except for Mercari gougers trying to capitalize. 😠
Atelier Cologne is sold here in Japan. 1AC's price(30ml) is equal to 3 Demeter bottles(30ml). I don't know when they have decided to change their targeted market but unfortunately we Japanese are poor compare to people in western countries. AC should be popular here in Japan if the price gets lowered. So after all, I buy Zara fragrance😄 when they have sale.
@@joannathesinger770 I'v heard that the median of Japanese income is half of America's now. We are not doing well. I imagine...There are opulent class and young women that are willing to decorate themselves purchase expensive bags.

I actually own Orange Sanguine and California Clementine.. my 2 favorite fragrances in the world. I have been using sparingly when I found out Sephora was no longer selling them . I went on Maxamora today and found them for 69.00 each. Needless to say I ordered both. I am so excited ❤
Yea I def get perfume fomo… 😢I don’t even, well can’t even really afford Guerlain which sucks because I love them! Ha and or I’m afraid I’ll love something and it will be discontinued. And then when prices are too crazy and I have to hunt for pre loved ugh the struggle to smell good is real!!!😂
I recognize that Notino packaging lol Have you ever received a fake from them? I usually only buy skincare and hair stuff from them, but their perfume prices are so good.
I shop quite often from Notino. Never received a fake. They often have “quick” sales like if package is damaged they offer 20-30% or even more. I purchase like this many fragrances. And also candles! They also offer free shipping from 20€ or 25€.
I LOVE California Clementine from Atelier Cologne and I've stocked up! Something weird is going on though as the only physical store left in Europe is in Paris (that's it). I tried to do a store locator thing on their website and only one store pops up. It makes me sad though as I like a lot of their fragrances.

I am loving citrus lately as well, and The Body Shop's Satsuma is one of the best orange's I have, and it performs well too. I'm sorry to hear that they are struggling. I have several good fragrances from them. I was interested to hear about Atelier focusing on the Asian market. I recently heard of another house doing the same - gads I can't remember which one it was now! Anyway, I wonder why they are doing this and how it's different??
I’m not a big fan of Atelier colognes, but I have a couple of sample sets from Sephora. They discontinued the brand before I was able to test all of them! Anyway, I just got my full bottles in Aruba since they don’t sell it in stores in the US. Have you tried the Oolong one?

that sounds highly illegal 😮
Seems to be a loophole that's gets them around paying off staff. As it's liquidation, the "state" (government) pays the redundancy to staff.
