Global Shutter is the perfect wedding camera for me. Being silent and shooting silent are the best 2 combos that makes me sneaky. Even my shutter focus sound is off. Then using a Global Shutter to eliminate flickering, jello effects, and distorting are HUGE for me. I always shoot in Continuous Drive mode at Mid-C which captures about 3 images per second. I don't think I'll ever use 120 fps but for sure 60 or 30 fps for important moments like the kissing, the walking, and the introduction. Being able to sync flash at any shutter speed means I don't have to ever use M-shutter ever again. I just need the GS to sync at 1/6,000 at the most and family portraits will be great to capture. Even if I don't get an A9iii for it, for sure i'll be wait on Sony's next wave of futures cameras that will likely have Global Shutter Sensors in them. I'm looking forward to seeing this and making my photography skills even better than ever before.
Thanks for the Review Taylor!
ditto. Most people talk bring up sports photography but I think it is equally appealing to wedding and portrait photographers.
@@vandalton4948 Oh yea, its great overall for any type of photography. But there are those photographers that wants the best dynamic range so they will always want to be at base iso 100. Don't get me wrong! I too love iso 100 for my fine arts portraits and flash photography portraits to bring out the best images and colors. But with any event gigs, my iso will never be below 400 since i shoot in natural light. To eliminate jello, flickering and distortion are huge pluses for events. I think photographers who never encounter or use their cameras enough to notice these 3 things are the ones that complains about Global Shutter not being so great. I will rent out an a9iii to play with for sure!
Camera can shoot 120 fps.
Tayler shoots in single frame mode. Love your consistency
I’d shoot 45,000 images on a wedding day if I even had it set to 20fps. It’s almost impossible to take a single frame haha
For the in the moment shoot, the pre capture is life saver.
The new subtle body design of this A9III is very nice..has some curves now and the new angle on the shutter release and grip much improved!..Im sure this will be the new body form factor going forward..A1II, A75, etc.. Fps is certainly overkill for weddings..haha but if people miss the "first kiss" with the A9III...just quit being a wedding photographer..haha
It’s a really nice design. It’s for sure one of my favourite feeling cameras on the market now. Hope it goes forward as well.
Do some comparison between a7iv and a9 iii please❤
The wedding industry is changing and flash photography is becoming a lot more popular again. I own lots of the RF fast glass primes but it would be great to have a faster sync speed then just 1/200 So we can shoot 1.2 to 2.0 and not have to rely on HSS It was rumored that the Canon R1 would be 1/1250 sync That would be amazing to have. Sony now with the Global shutter with no limits on shutter speed. We''ve maxed out the FPS of 120 or even more. Be nice to max out our sync speeds and up the DR in all cameras. For fun I tried out the new Hasselblad Xd2 WOW nice camera best colour DR IQ and so much fun to photograph with. Also so easy to shoot with. Took me 15 minutes to feel very comfortable to work with. Sync speeds were 2000 or 4000 which is amazing. Or at least add a ND filter into the cameras. Any thoughts from other photographers on this
Great review. Thank your for your perspective.
Thanks for stopping by!
I am considering buying this camera for weddings. What I would love to know is if you can notice that the camera nails focus faster and that there are less shutter lag than on other sony cameras?
theoretically, you can get shutter un-lag! There are pre-shoot length options that are very small, and would mean you get pictures from even before you've pressed the shutter. Worth a thought
1:39 I’m still on the bus.
Still on the bus later too
Can't able to decide between Sony a7iii & Nikon Z6 ii for wedding photography 😪
I agree that Sony should add an option for users to add sound. I suggest the "pew, pew" sound 🤣🤣🤣
Ok the dog bark has real potential. LOL can you Imagine. LOLL
Fantastic Review 😊
Thanks David!
A9 barkiii coming up on next firmware update. 🐶
Please I need it
at some point cameras will be video cameras... and one frame will be chosen.
You can already do that now if you want. Backend logistics are just a nightmare
how are you shooting the behind the scenes? go pro?
I find Elora Mill has that pwm led lighting that even my A1 is very picky with in terms of catching the phase and needing to dial in a specific fine shutter speed (1/199.9); Did the A9III have any struggles at all with flicker detection or did it consistently catch the light phase?
Aside from this camera and the ZV E1 which other Sony camera you use has dynamic stabilization?
I guess just those two. I use Active on the others
When are the 2024 presets out?
They should already be in the Complete Collection if you have it
@TaylorJacksonPhoto I downloaded them and the only 2024 ones are the Film and Trash Panda.
@timgimbert3073 oh the TJ M should be in 2024. Are any others from the video missing? I update them every year if they’re still working fine with new cameras
@TaylorJacksonPhoto I just checked and the only 2024 are the ones I already mentioned.
The M should be in the film pack. gold from this video is in there too
Its gotta be less satisfying without the shutter click, i know it would miss it immediately.
You can dial in shutter sounds in the menu.
A7RV is better for wedding, u don't need much more than 6fps
I shoot this camera on single shot hah
Hii I wanna do sports and wedding photography/portraits. Would you recommend? Sony a7r 5 or the Sony a9 iii 🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨
I have the a7rv its great but the resolution is way too high and shooting in medium raw does not give you the same raw file that you get with uncompressed or even compressed.
@@edreidphotos have you done sports photography with you camera?
No, I got the a9iii yesterday so excited to see what it can do for my weddings.

Wild how Sony went from getting memed for their flip screens (among other things) to having the best screen ever
Haha it’s so nice now. I hope this flip ends up on all of their pro products
6 grand fuck that lmao
I could buy a red komodo x referbished if not brand new for that price...
I dont know if that works for me as a photographer
