    He was exhausted phisycally and emotionally, but he still played so magically....... Very touching.....

      ykrahs666 after his sons death he was devastated and only gave a few more recitals until completely disappearing from the concert stage.

      no Cziffra is not the poet of piano j think about Alfred Cortot Samson Francois and in Listz France Clidat more lyrical than Cziffra j don't agree with the word poet , Cziffra is viril in Listz j agree

      He was a tremendously gifted improviser as well, for some time in his life when he was forced to make a living somehow, he worked in a bar and played jazz for the lucky ones, who were there..

    The notes shimmer like star dust. This recital must have been towards the end of his life as he looks much older than I remember him. Beautiful nontheless.

    Thanks so much for putting this up, it's really moving. Is he wiping away a tear at the end? When was this concert? Anyway thanks again, I saw this a long time ago and have wanted to see it again ever since.

    I really want to know what it takes to learn to play with such heartfelt honesty in front of other people.

      It requires the opposite of psychosis, truly psychotic people are so terrified of what others think about them that they will rarely show a genuine emotion

    Cziffra don't like this Listz-piece he seems to play because it's a Listz-piece not a mastetpiece . Listz wrote 258 solos-pieces piano and 58 are played to day

      @@alainspiteri502 Really? I would suggest you listen to Cziffra playing Ravel, but that would be a waste of time since your bias is so acute. This Liszt work is a revolutionary and influential MASTERPIECE.
