I agree, I bought a condo right after my divorce in 2013. When I tell people how little my living costs actually are people can’t believe it. I’m paying $140.00 more per month than when I bought the place nearly 12 years ago and that was because of the taxes and the HOA fees. That’s an increase of about $12 per year. Here in Denver you can literally get a notice that your rent will double in a few months. I had a BMW M5. I paid it off and got rid of it. No car and cost of condo, internet, utilities and cell phone is about $1250. Can’t wait to pay the condo of and then I’ll be down to $250.00.

@jgood4010 I experienced a similar situation, buying just to buy. And I don't think taxes is a issue if they do like you said and stay within your means. Mine was under $1000. But how many people gone buy the $45,000 2bedroom in the hood?, most gone get a 30 yr mortgage. You gone need insurance ,rather its paid off or not. HVAC, roof, and tub payments can bee put on a payment plan but depending on what you want it can turn into a 7yr+ bill each. Not including that plumbing issue he mentioned. But the 1 BIG draw back I seen a family member go through with renting is that the owner not paying his bill can cause you to be homeless before your less is up. So I don't see none wrong with just renting from a good landlord until you find someone you want roots with🤷🏾♂️

If you have 17 cars and only two houses, then there is a issues with values. Why put your money in something that loses value instead of something that increases in value. Bills are cool, write them off. Ask Chamilionaire. Invest your cash, write off the toys,
Because he can have money elsewhere meaning property isn't the only asset that exists and everything you put your money into doesn't have to be a financial investment meaning you can have nice things even if they depreciate in value lol Btw, he's been known to own entire complexes. Dont agree with this advice. If you single and can afford a house BUY a house just dont over buy. Buy reasonable. Even better buy duplex or triplex or fourplex. Paying property taxes on a paid off home is not like paying rent lol. You have 100% equity you can sell at anytime.
That's for someone looking to be a landlord, he advise makes perfect sense for those who he suggested it to. The average person trying to do the family thing.

@jgood4010 I experienced a similar situation, buying just to buy. And I don't think taxes is a issue if they do like you said and stay within your means. Mine was under $1000. But how many people gone buy the $45,000 2bedroom in the hood?, most gone get a 30 yr mortgage.
You gone need insurance ,rather its paid off or not. HVAC, roof, and tub payments can bee put on a payment plan but depending on what you want it can turn into a 7yr+ bill each. Not including that plumbing issue he mentioned. But the 1 BIG draw back I seen a family member go through with renting is that the owner not paying his bill can cause you to be homeless before your less is up. So I don't see none wrong with just renting from a good landlord until you find someone you want roots with🤷🏾♂️

Me personally I would rather own and have a mortgage I can have equity from while others pay rent for the same amount of time and have none. Paying for your landlords property which he OWNS never made sense to me.

Good advice but please remember: if you rent from somebody, they are charging you for the taxes, repairs, and then they're getting profit off you. So you could do it yourself and save money by not paying somebody profit.
