I was stationed in Jacksonville in 05, ran into Slim by himself at Regency Mall during Superbowl Week. Told him I was from Texas and was a big fan. He showed loved and signed some stuff for me.
One thing he says in the video that should resonate is, these guys should continue to make music period. As the audience gets older, the music we listened to is what we want. I personally dont care for most of the newer artist. Just not my sound. So I revert back to the guys I grew up listening to. And with that I would like to hear new music from them.
🫡 to Slim Thugga for making smart business moves and motivating others to do the same. You don’t hear him, Chamillionaire, Paul Wall, Trae, and the rest of them complaining about bad deals. They all still eating good and it’s mainly off their Texas following. I see why they love where they’re from.
I no,him and master P I tried my best too follow there blueprint but north carolina doesn't understand the independent grind, becuz there was nothing that came before me that Laid that foundation down, pretty much like he describing the new york scene, now that I think about it
Getting your music in Midnight Club 3 was an underrated decision. That’s where I first heard of Slim Thug as a kid. Became a household name in our home. All the way in Chicago.
Slim Thug is an OG. So good to see him still reppeing Texas and helping put others up on game. Passing that knowledge and wisdom on and helping to get the next gen going.
Always see Slim and Paul Wall around the city they are both super down to earth and humble they’re always in the mix with the ppl 😂 that’s why they’ve lasted so long in the game
That real estate he is talking about is "opportunity zones". It's an opportunity to reduce tax expense and contribute to low-income areas. Nipsey was on this prior to his passing.
Man. I'm a daytrader ex jazz musician who watched this bc I fucking love "Chuuch". Glad I did. Easily one of the most impactful interviews/impressions I've seen. Thanks for posting this. So much of this resonates with my spirit as a trader and musician. Hope everyone realizes the wisdom he's imparting. This is Ivy League Big Brain heavy shit.
Slim been getting it independently for a long time dude drop when I was middle school and still droppin music today just amazing 100,000 units at 10 dollars a pop that's a million bucks free game for you lil boys
Spoken like a True Texan!! From Tejano, Norteno, Mariachi, Country, Rap, to the Foodie Game, in Big Tejas, the Hu$TLe is TRILL🤘🏾🤠 🌵🌴🌲 Texas Monthly can vouch for that too!!!
I'm tell yall something he got money 💰, and yall know who else Chamillionaire got paper to. Them dudes just smart with they money how they use it, how they spend it, and invest it. Much love thug been rocking with you since mid 90's !! Love and appreciation how you holding the state down..
As long as I lived in Houston, Slim been straight before his real estate move. Been having a nice home, condos, and cars. Key word is connected! He is connected and loved by his city. Always great energy when you see him out
I remember buying his tapes from him personally in school. And now i see him sometimes out in the city. Awesome to seea fellow Texan still out here getting it!
Aint no one fking with Houston flow period. We just humble ASF with it. Tbh everything else be so weak, that we dont even have to pop our shit. We already independent, lets not add salt to they injuries.
I'm originally from The Bronx, NYC now I live here in Midland, TX. It's definately different. Texas is definately different. I"ve been to Dallas, San Antonio, Austin, El Paso, Lubbock, and of course Odessa (17 miles away from Midland). These folks need some East Cost lovin' especially when it comes to the food, culture and Fashion. These folks needs lots of love. But I'm not mad at it. I'm raising my son out here, and so far so good. It's jus that the public schools aren't the best either. Just like other cities, Midland has its issues too.
I remember in Dallas, Texas, maybe in 2002. Slim was the last to perform. He told us, "I'm tired, I got some 🐈 waiting at the room, so here is some of y'all money back." Threw cash at us, and it wasn't only 1's.
I was at that show, big moe and a few other houston artist were was there too. I was like 17 at the time. Our club scene was lit back then, no shooting, just fights between neighborhoods that had beef
There is a reason for it , them folks don’t want the OGs in the game letting the youngsters know what not to do and what not to give up . If they keep the youth naive.
Respect to Slim real talk fuck record labels all they do is use the artist as an employee. Slim stay the Boss and gain 100 percent of the fruits of his labor facts!
I think we underestimated slim thug as real business man…I respect the fact he didn’t just blow his money…he truly understands business & the value of a dollar…respect boss 🫡🥂💯
slim thug remind me sooo much of the big hommie!...here in cincinnati ohio i love listing to slim and im much older then he is...im drying to create my own and to hear him spit game i love it cuz he being honest
Facts. I quit sippin too. It was fun. Most don't know its history. Shout out to UGK, 3 6 Mafia! Slim Thug is doing it still. Wise investor. Thanks for the interview 😅
A lot of other states don't realize Texas artists don't have to leave Texas to get a 💰 you can go gold alone just in Texas look at these New York cats coming to soak up that southern game not only that Texas been on having ownership not just in music but other hustles like property and business they try to call us country bumpkins but we living good in Texas
Exactly they don't try to Bragg about it cuz they don't wanna be under the radar and piss the wrong person off. Lol Shit young Dolph denied a 22 mil deal and stayed independent, while that same year drake signed for 20Ms. Either way Guess what they both got their game from Houston and paid their respects. Long live real Niggaz, there ain't too many left...
"Building wealth is like climbing a mountain; investing is the steady ascent, retirement is the summit."
Great analogy! Climbing toward retirement takes effort, but the financial freedom at the top is worth it.
Great insight! I'd love to meet a financial adviser who can help me climb the financial ladder effectively.
Great point, With my adviser’s help, I’ve climbed the financial ladder, making informed decisions that support my retirement goals.
My CFA NICOLE ANASTASIA PLUMLEE a renowned figure in her line of work. I recommend researching her credentials further.
Thank you for this amazing tip. I just looked the name up and wrote her.
I never knew Slim would last this long, but he did. Texas always going to support their artists.
His flow untouchable, who can compare!? This new music just ain't it,. They don't make em like him no more. So he can't be forgotten
🤘🏿
Headed to the kappa and boss hogg are listenable to this day
@@Blu3_777 The production on his music puts the icing on the cake. The samples are always soulful
aunthenticity prevails. that’s what so many miss out on, not staying true to self

Master P🤔🤔😩😩let us just stick to Slim Thug👀🏆🏆🏆🏆
Houston probably has the best independent hip hop scene in the US. Most of these rappers are millionaires without major labels.
👍💯🎼🤠
Love that SlimThug stand on business independently, not to sell himself out and he built his own Legacy 🕊️ ✨💫
Getting your music in Midnight Club 3 was an underrated decision. That’s where I first heard of Slim Thug as a kid. Became a household name in our home. All the way in Chicago.
