I pray Anbernic doesn't give up on this form factor. 6-Button is the way to go, all this need is better hardware and an analogue stick. Hopefully before this year is up they can deliver a new version, so tired of these handhelds only having 4-buttons for those Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft systems. 6-Buttons can always be remapped to cater to them. SEGA fans would be happy
I've heard that they finally made it right and used a quality Micro SD card for the ARC, and none of those cheap, self-currupting ones. Can you confirm that? This was always one of the biggest issues with these emulation devices, bc you can't do anything when the card dies.
I’m trying to map the analog stick to the dpad on the arc s, and I’m not seeing how to do this controller profile switch here, has anyone figured out this out for the arc s?
How is the included Micro SD card? Any problems with it? I've heard it's finally a decent quality one, and not a cheap crappy self corrupting one - can you confirm it?
Function + B button in Retroarch to bring up the menu. Scroll down to controls. Port 1 controls. Find the analog stick x and y axis. Map the dpad. Test it by exiting the menu. If all good go back to the retroarch menu, controls, manage remap file. And you can save it for all dreamcast games (core remap) or per game basis.
@@paulyong1494maybe you already know it, but you can use an external controller (any USB controller works, but you need an USB-3 adaptor) for those games. And with an HDMI cable, you can use the ARC on your TV. (edit: ok, he mentioned it!)
Retro Arena runs many games poorly, particularly those on MAME and Final Burn Neo. Pop in the standard firmware and you get good performance in arcade games... use Retro Arena and performance drops through the floor. Even the Data Frog handles arcade games better!
Floating d-pads provide a nice feeling, but they aren't durable. If you accidently press a little harder (happens a lot when you play fighting games with all those fast double motion imputs f.e.), the fragile plastic part that triggers the rubber membranes beneath the d-pad could snap...
Sounds like I'm not buying this version but if they get a second or third that has better performance, you know that can run Saturn games as you'd think considering the form factor, I'll get it
I got the ark d last week , was disappointed to be honest , screen has a lot of light leek , speakers were poor . Think mYbe with the retro arena firm ware it might well be improved .

No analogue sticks, it will ruin the Sega aesthetic and ergonomics. Just do oled and upgrade chipset.
I'm happy so many people are enjoying this Handheld.

i have the d version of this and the software is lacking in both versions

Can you show how to map dpad as analog? Many dreamcast games unplayable because i can't find the setting

Retro Arena will come to the rescue.
it already has but thats not without its issues
hopefully other cfw will release... those developers hopefully change their minds

It can be much more pocketable if made in a form factor of RG405M while remaining those front facing speakers and no sticks

Can you try to run Dragon Force and Dragon Force 2 on it? I'd like to know how well they run on it. I appreciate it!

games load only in retroarch not in emulators :(

Dual Boot to play Streets of Rage 4 and Shredders revenge..thats worth it ..
Honestly, the Steam Deck gives me far better that massive Sega Game Gear feel (including that sucky battery life when you play D4 on it)...
If you can buy the steam deck why buy this retro gaming consoles?
