Mr Stewart, I loved the movie Cadence and really was sad that you couldn't find this song anywhere but in the movie. Years ago, I worked with teens in our church's youth group. I introduced them to this song because it really spoke to me about trying to get right with God before your time on Earth has ended. We watched Cadence and this song moved them to tears because it touched their hearts. There has only been a couple of other songs to have this effect and one was Michael W Smith's song Secret Ambition and telling them how Jesus' only ambition in life was to give His life that we may live!! Thank you so much!!! I love this song dearly! Musician friends played it at my brother's funeral 18 years ago. I had heard a guy in the state park, sitting by himself, sing and play it. So I asked about it and he told me it was from Cadence, which I had never watched. And, that he performed it at his brother's funeral. Listened to it over and over again. Then when my brother died, I recorded it on a cassette from the movie and took it to my friends to learn. Have looked and looked for a video of it and wondered if Harry was still around. I'm so thrilled to have discovered this.
I remember watching Cadence for the first time at around 17y/o. I enjoyed everything about the movie but when I heard Harry (Sweetbread) start belting out this song... it hit me right in my soul!!! I rewound the movie dozens of times to listen to this song over and over and over, I couldn’t get enough! I tried looking for it anywhere and everywhere I could, but to no avail. So I went back once again and rewound the movie over and over again until I wrote down all the words so that I could sing it on my own whenever I wanted. Thank GOD for technology... I remember watching this movie when it would play on HBO back in 91 or 92. I was 11 years old and it really made an impact. Every time it was on, my brothers and I would always wait patiently for the scene in the Church because the song and vocals were so amazing. Even now, it's not the cool cadence march that I think of first when I think of this movie, it's the inspiring song and beutiful vocals of Harry Stewart.

I watched Cadence every time it came on. Not because it was a great movie, but to just hear this song! I was so incredibly moved by Mr. Stewart’s amazing song.
When this song was in the movie Cadence, I was a 16 y/o white kid with my black friends all in one apartment. I had no idea what the words meant, but having grown up and become a man, loss of life, war, figthing, saving life, losing life, I am weary, but this man made me believe. I was a kid when the movie cadence came out. Charlie sheen was the man back then. after the movie platoon came out... and the trail of the movie Cadence was just sooooo good I had to watch it. a good movie! it was about brotherhood, love, and understanding each other. 3 things in this movie that stands out the most are: the Cadence part at at the end the tossing the zippo lighter back to Charlie Sheen part and out of nowhere this beautiful song, giving me the goose bump, wanting me to go back to the lord sound. like an angel calling me to come back. I'm trying to get back to my Fatih at the moment. I'm hurting bad (by my standard I'm sure there are so many others are hurting more than me) somehow I feel a bit more comfort by listening to this wonderful singer and the song. Brother Harry, I pray thee ord find you well, healthy and as always, in his will. Like so many, I heard your beautiful voice in 1991 shortly after the movie came out. I was not saved at the time but I could appreciate the gift our father gave you. More than 20 years later and after giving my life to our Jesus the song obviously has SO much more impact on me. I was born in Boston in 1973 with MANY physical issues, not expected to live and the doctors said if I did live I would never make it to 30. I am now 46, have lived an amazing life, been blessed with an amazing wife, 4 children and 7 Grandchildren. I tell you these things because as you know, our Lord has THE plans for our lives, regardless of the plans of man. Thank you so very much for this beautiful song. I truly can't listen to you sing it without those dang tears! You get me EVERY time and trust me, I have listened to you sing it MANY times. I’m a nurse that worked across the country thru the pandemic. Then I went to Ukraine to train their soldiers for 3 months. Pain and suffering have been my companions for too long. But at the same time I have witnessed indomitable courage, compassion and even beauty. I have this RUclips video that I lean on to give me strength for one more day, one more mission, one more person who needs to be cared for. I will return to Ukraine in January to continue the work there. This video is more important than my body armor.

So I'm trying hard to sing this song that I've loved forever. I'm learning it because I want to sing it at my cousins funeral in a week. She died from covid and my heart is do shattered. She fought for 2 months in the hospital with tubes. She survived cancer when she was very young, like in her early teens and she had just recently retired from over 30 yrs at Penny's. She was barely 56.. Sylvia was literally the kindest soul anyone could ever know and I'm not saying that because she's my family SHE REALLY WAS. I think her being sick and nearly dying so young made her understand that only love and kindness mattered..i honestly think she's right because that's all I've remembered her for. So please pray for me as I humbly try my heart out to give her this gift. I can't sing worth a dime but somehow that just doesn't matter to me.. Thank you for this song.. This movie came out in early 1991 when I was 8 going on 9. Not sure exactly when I saw it but it definitely was the first movie that made me cry when Sweetbread died. My 77-year old Mom just passed away 3 weeks ago. My Dad and I were with her at her last moments. When we knew that the end was near late last year, I arranged for a local vocal musician to sing this incredible song at her funeral service (once before the reading of the Gospel and once as a postlude as we were leaving). Everyone was in tears. My Dad, my brother, and I were hooked on this song since watching you sing it in Cadence all those years ago. Thank you so much. You were a blessing to us during this difficult time.

I just watched leap of faith. First time in a long while. I was searching for the Change in My life song again as I was hoping the movie version would have popped up somewhere. Long story short, i remembered looking for End of My Journey and I found this from 2019. Harry, I am so glad to see and hear you sing this song. But as the credits went by, I sat at the foot of my bed and kept rewinding the VCR tape over and over, with tears in my eyes, until I had the song memorized. That was a very dark time in my life, and that song stayed with me until GOD finally took over my life 9 years later, 10/09/1996. I watched Cadence probably over 100 times since it came out, and partly because my children would keep the VHS on repeat. Yesterday my son sent my the link to the clip of the end of the movie and said "brings back memories huh?" As I look back...there were times where they would fall into 'cadence' and do the chain gang or bust into a chorus of 'End of my Journey'. Mr Stewart, I loved the movie Cadence and really was sad that you couldn't find this song anywhere but in the movie. Years ago, I worked with teens in our church's youth group. I introduced them to this song because it really spoke to me about trying to get right with God before your time on Earth has ended. We watched Cadence and this song moved them to tears because it touched their hearts. There has only been a couple of other songs to have this effect and one was Michael W Smith's song Secret Ambition and telling them how Jesus' only ambition in life was to give His life that we may live!! Thank you for sharing your gift and I look forward to more great music!!!
Thank you so much!!! I love this song dearly! Musician friends played it at my brother's funeral 18 years ago. I had heard a guy in the state park, sitting by himself, sing and play it. So I asked about it and he told me it was from Cadence, which I had never watched. And, that he performed it at his brother's funeral. Listened to it over and over again. Then when my brother died, I recorded it on a cassette from the movie and took it to my friends to learn. Have looked and looked for a video of it and wondered if Harry was still around. I'm so thrilled to have discovered this.
I remember watching Cadence for the first time at around 17y/o. I enjoyed everything about the movie but when I heard Harry (Sweetbread) start belting out this song... it hit me right in my soul!!! I rewound the movie dozens of times to listen to this song over and over and over, I couldn’t get enough! I tried looking for it anywhere and everywhere I could, but to no avail. So I went back once again and rewound the movie over and over again until I wrote down all the words so that I could sing it on my own whenever I wanted. Thank GOD for technology... I’ve been able to find it once again and listen to Harry and this soul touching song!!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼

I remember watching this movie when it would play on HBO back in 91 or 92. I was 11 years old and it really made an impact. Every time it was on, my brothers and I would always wait patiently for the scene in the Church because the song and vocals were so amazing.
Even now, it's not the cool cadence march that I think of first when I think of this movie, it's the inspiring song and beutiful vocals of Harry Stewart.

I was a kid when the movie cadence came out. Charlie sheen was the man back then. after the movie platoon came out... and the trail of the movie Cadence was just sooooo good I had to watch it. a good movie! it was about brotherhood, love, and understanding each other. 3 things in this movie that stands out the most are:
the Cadence part at at the end
the tossing the zippo lighter back to Charlie Sheen part
and out of nowhere this beautiful song, giving me the goose bump, wanting me to go back to the lord sound. like an angel calling me to come back.

Brother Harry, I pray thee ord find you well, healthy and as always, in his will. Like so many, I heard your beautiful voice in 1991 shortly after the movie came out. I was not saved at the time but I could appreciate the gift our father gave you. More than 20 years later and after giving my life to our Jesus the song obviously has SO much more impact on me. I was born in Boston in 1973 with MANY physical issues, not expected to live and the doctors said if I did live I would never make it to 30. I am now 46, have lived an amazing life, been blessed with an amazing wife, 4 children and 7 Grandchildren. I tell you these things because as you know, our Lord has THE plans for our lives, regardless of the plans of man. Thank you so very much for this beautiful song. I truly can't listen to you sing it without those dang tears! You get me EVERY time and trust me, I have listened to you sing it MANY times. Know that some man you have never met who now lives in San Antonio, TX is praying for you and thankful that the Lord put this amazing song in your heart to share with all of us. I’m a nurse that worked across the country thru the pandemic. Then I went to Ukraine to train their soldiers for 3 months. Pain and suffering have been my companions for too long. But at the same time I have witnessed indomitable courage, compassion and even beauty. I have this RUclips video that I lean on to give me strength for one more day, one more mission, one more person who needs to be cared for. So I'm trying hard to sing this song that I've loved forever. I'm learning it because I want to sing it at my cousins funeral in a week. She died from covid and my heart is do shattered. She fought for 2 months in the hospital with tubes. She survived cancer when she was very young, like in her early teens and she had just recently retired from over 30 yrs at Penny's. She was barely 56.. Sylvia was literally the kindest soul anyone could ever know and I'm not saying that because she's my family SHE REALLY WAS. I think her being sick and nearly dying so young made her understand that only love and kindness mattered..i honestly think she's right because that's all I've remembered her for. So please pray for me as I humbly try my heart out to give her this gift. I can't sing worth a dime but somehow that just doesn't matter to me..

My 77-year old Mom just passed away 3 weeks ago. My Dad and I were with her at her last moments. When we knew that the end was near late last year, I arranged for a local vocal musician to sing this incredible song at her funeral service (once before the reading of the Gospel and once as a postlude as we were leaving). Everyone was in tears. My Dad, my brother, and I were hooked on this song since watching you sing it in Cadence all those years ago. Thank you so much. All I can really say is, THANK YOU.
When I saw the movie Cadence, I loved the short bit of the song we heard in it.
But as the credits went by, I sat at the foot of my bed and kept rewinding the VCR tape over and over, with tears in my eyes, until I had the song memorized.
That was a very dark time in my life, and that song stayed with me until GOD finally took over my life 9 years later, 10/09/1996.
I will forever remember Harry Stewart and his beautiful voice and this song. It touched me like no other song. This is a virtual handshake of thanks 🤝

One of my favorite songs of all time. Wonderful voice and emotion. I heard it on Cadence so many years ago and played that scene over and over just to hear the song again. I still sing it to myself while driving so no one can hear me singing off key. Thank you for creating this song.

I remember when I 1st heard him sing this song. I was a kid, while watching the movie "Cadence". I remember always rewinding just that 1 part. It's a beautiful song, & he still sounds better than ever singing it. 👍🏾👌🏾👏🏾 This song has always stuck with me for some reason, & today @ work I thought to look it up. 🙌🏾

I learned about your singing voice from the father of a resident where I use to work. He had me searching the internet for the movie Cadence because he wanted to hear you sing.
Harry please continue to either remake songs, or even make some of your own.

I just bought the film Cadence from Ebay. This is a great film. I'm not sure how it ranked during its release but it's now one of my favs. Thanku 4 ur performance & the tender kindness that shines from ur spirit.

I watched Cadence probably over 100 times since it came out, and partly because my children would keep the VHS on repeat. Yesterday my son sent my the link to the clip of the end of the movie and said "brings back memories huh?" As I look back...there were times where they would fall into 'cadence' and do the chain gang or bust into a chorus of 'End of my Journey'. Thank you for being a staple in our lives for the past 30 years ❤
