See What Happens When They Request I Play Queen Bohemian Rhapsody | Cole Lam 15 Years Old

- It's been quite a while since I played @Queen out at in public on the pianos, so it really was time to do it at the Elton John Yamaha piano in London St Pancras International Train Station. It's the location that really has been like a second home for me musically and it's where I played Bohemian Rhapsody almost 3 years ago, and that video has gone over a ridiculous 100 Million views. That's crazy right?
So I started with Don't Stop Me Now, which is one of my favourite to play as it's just relentless energy and you can just lose yourself in the adrenalin of the song. I thought on this one that I would jump up for the big bit and keep forgetting that I am taller than I think I am! Then my dad asks the two ladies what is their favourite Queen song, and of course it has to be Bohemian Rhapsody! I mean, is there any other answer to that question? Well, there is, and whatever it is would be wrong!
Listening to it and comparing it to the earlier versions that I have played, it's evolved to be a little bit more delicate in places, and in other areas there is a slight more burst of energy. It's always that little bit different - which is why I love Freddie Mercury's masterpiece - Bohemian Rhapsody, there is so much to explore and learn from it.

Awesome 👌
Absolutely amazing 👌❤️
It was good but I’m really a fan of how u used to perform this
Freddie said “I don’t care what they do with my music just don’t make it boring”. Cole u have surpassed that and Freddie would have given u a standing ovation. Brilliant.
I saw Freddie play, back in the 70's. What a fantastic showman. Cole, you are doing a great job. I love your interpretation, wonderful.
I don’t think that’s the exact quote but whatever.
See alipbata play it song
@@abbymarievlogs it is actually
Well put
instruments should be public everywhere around the world, Its amazing to see people playing in public like this.
Not here in Philippines or it will be gone after one night for the piano and 3 seconds for the Go Pro/ cam lol
Public flute mid covid
when it's here in the philippines, the instruments will disappear immediately
When I went to Liverpool there were public pianos everywhere
True story💯
You’re 15?! FIFTEEN!!!! Save some talent for the rest of us, kid. Good lord! You’re incredible
Half the 7 year old kids in china can do this
Save some of your talent for when you are older.
@@stickyblanket ok but can YOU do it
@@professionaldictastor9258 technically yes, i'm classically trained and teach piano at the RCM in Toronto.
Yeah, but theyre like robots. Cole puts so much heart and soul into his music.
He played it all from memory too. Awesome performance. Was anyone else reciting the lyrics in their head as I was?
Fully called out!
i dont think there was a script inn the first place.
Freddie was there singing every word in my head
Yes I love this song
Whoever donated that piano to Saint Pancras deserves to be given a standing ovation along with this young man ….such is the Power of the human Spirit of generosity 👌🏼♥️♥️♥️♥️🌹🫶🏼
Elton John
Lol it was Elton John and yes he does deserve that
Bravo to Elton John ! 🥳🎉🎊🎉🎈🎈🎈♥️🌹
New subscribe man. Nice play 🙂
there is a video of Elton signing the piano and playing the day he donated it. look it up
It's sad that a lot of people walk by without even a glance. Sure most of them have things to do places to be. But glance once at least! This is pure skill! You can tell he has been playing piano for a long long time. I can play the piano but not by ear and definitely not without a music sheet in front of me. Absolutely wonderful to listen to.
They Heard it at least... maybe they're busy...
@@Sachide same bruh
Some people can’t stay and listen to a bunch of songs
They’re npc’s
Well, it is a train station........trains to catch and all.....
Bohemian Rhapsody without a music sheet... I used to play this in an orchestra and even the double bass parts I couldn’t memorize 😂 Really really impressive.
Cole writes his own music sheets and piano arrangements (in his head most of the time) since he's 12. This gifted kid has perfect pitch! That's amazing...
Greetings from an old lady (im 60),across the pond (U.S.A.). I have loved Freddie and Queen for about 47yrs., so hearing his ( and their) music is always a treat. You and your playing are incredible. Freddie would be proud of you. You have a God given talent. Never stop playing. I look forward to seeing & hearing more from you on here. Would love to hear "Love of My Life" and "Who Wants To Live Forever". The last one was my husbands (whom i lost just a short 10 months ago ) favorite Queen song
Sorry for your loss I have done both. If you look up the song name and Cole Lam, you will find them. I also did one where I played about 15 queen songs on a grand piano. You can find that on my channel too
So sorry for your loss.😢😢
He's playing without a music sheet at 15 years old - thesis incredible.
He writes his own piano arrangements since 11 y.o. I think... 😎
Yep 😊 well I don't alelways write them down. Sometimes they are just in my head and only write them down if enough people ask
Your signature song is still a great crowd puller.. You may get fed up playing it so often but please believe we never tire of hearing it Cole it just keeps better than ever..Brilliant..Thank you ❤
What song?
@@jfducusin7186 Bohemian Rhaosody of course
Well, I think this is exactly what Freddie meant while singing "The Show must go on!"
My big Respect for this amazing performance! I wish Brian May, Roger Taylor or John Deacon will find this video and can enjoy it too.
Wow! You are such an impressive talent. Thank you for sharing it with the world.
I've heard this played by many people in train and bus stations. They played the music, the notes, the form, but you played the essence of this piece of genius. Thank you. Well done.
Yes he puts everything into this and everything else he plays
I don’t get how so many people walk by and don’t remotely acknowledge this mastery.
That’s because they’re deaf
Couldn’t agree more!! 😊
They got a flight to get to
It’s a station they have trains to catch.
@@haydennigro795 Agree- people need to get to their flights. Also, many people have no interest in music.
Your interpretation of this Queen "symphonic" classic is always going to be a big hit among young and old alike. Beautifully expressed and played.
Amazing!??.Wonderful!!😍😍
I love it and I'm 80.....
I am still crying whenever I' m listening to you!
You are very gifted, a young man who puts a spell on us, all around the world!❤🎉😊
I am the only one hearing Freddie's "anywhere the wind blows" at the very end ? That's so great
I can see Freddie mercury standing there singing along with you, he would be proud and 100 m viewers is not ridiculous you are a genius, keep playing !
Bohemian Rhapsody, one of my ALL MY TIME GREATS.
Thank you for so much for playing the request from the ladies.
More than worth it
As a child I was in the Boyscouts and there was an orphan in the troop names Darius who was adopted from Germany. His only possession from his previous life was an old 10 inch harmonica. If you turned on a radio, any random station or music type and played a song he could repeat the song note for note after only hearing it once. We always had a great time when camping with him around to entertain us 50 years ago.
Cole, this is the first time I’m hearing you and your interpretation of the Queen repertoire and it is just inspired and so genius. You somehow bring another level to the music I haven’t heard before even by professional orchestras who cover Queen sometimes. Your technique reminds me somewhat of Liberace in the sense that you add a baroque element to these popular tunes with the elaborate and luscious trills and falls and crescendos. It’s such a luscious and glossy reimagining and reinterpretation. I could listen to you for hours. Thank you all the way ‘down under’ from Sydney, Australia. 🙏
Wow thank you for your comment - if you have not already, do habe a look at this when I played 6 in a row (and a surprise one at the end) when I was 12 ruclips.net/video/Xyly33IQIrE/видео.html. It is a bit more raw, but actually I really like it too! Also, if you have an hour, and want to hear all my Queen that I had created at the time, here's one (when I was 13) where I play on a nice piano! ruclips.net/video/OJPN4_l3UCE/видео.html
@@ColeLam i was going to say you made a typo but i decided not to bother you, checking back to the video (because i put it on loop while i play random games) i see you have edited the comment and fixed it, i really did not expect that
A year or two ago I suggested to Cole that he should learn a little bit about Liberace's music. At the time, I think I was trying to make the connection between Liberace being the most pecuniously successful musician for one or two decades many years ago. But I could not express myself in such elegant terms, as you did, regarding the connection between Cole's playing and his classical background versus that of Liberace. When tv was emerging in the US in the late 40's, Liberace was one of first popular musicians. As a kid, I could hardly believe what we were seeing and hearing.
Besides all the talent and soul acclaims - i believe this young man is incredibly smart
That girl requested the hardest one to play and she probably thought he couldn't play it and said " oh man he can play it"...oh yes he can from the heart even without the music sheet ❤️ good job Cole 👍👏👌
I just finished watching Cole play these same songs from 3 years ago and he was amazing then. It is so nice to see he is still playing his Queen music. My favorite no doubt is Bohemian Rhapsody. Keep it up and lets get to the 100 Million views for the updated version.
You are a genius, so accurate, so Queen!🎉❤
I have to say first you just blew me away with “Dont stop me now” and then “Bohemian Rhapsody” that was just another level for me i really enjoyed it i think you have great talent continue showing it to the world !!
Practiced 40 hours a day for 20 years to get to this point by age 15. Well done.
40 hours a day?
@@xxxx-sc6bu it’s a joke from a RUclips channel called “TwoSet violin”
just like lingling… i’m so proud
How about 41 hours?

Man, i freaking love this piano Version!🤘🏻
What I love the most about this is how you get the dynamics just right. The reason you get asked to play it so often is probably because its arguably the best song ever written.
It blow’s my mind how people just casually keep walking by this young man randomly ROCKING OUT on the piano SO MASTERFULLY! 🤯🤯🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼❤️💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽
St Pancras is a noisy place where travelers rush about very quickly and the piano is not amplified.
Others are just not into music
They literally have a train to catch
Man, I was jamming to this and felt so frustrated when nobody else in the crowd would even clap. The worst crowd ever. You literally hit every harmony of this song hard. That is all
Even without the words I feel Queen coming thru this interpretation of Bohemian Rhapsody from this so talented young man. Awesome Cole. You have real performance energy.
RIP Freddie. You young man are incredible. You have brought Freddie back to us even if it was only for a short time. Thank you. You have an incredible talent for only being 15. You have a gift. And so did Freddie. He could do it all. Keep playing and being awesome for spreading the love of music to us all. ❤
When he stands up to play you can feel the music is played with soul. Amazing performance.
I am amazed that more people don't stop to hear this magnificent player!
cole you rock. loved your skill and passion for the piano. nice work.
Freddie Mercury would be proud! That was beautiful!
honestly this was amazing. as a drummer having you in a band/orchestra must be awesome, props to you! 🙌🏿
I guess the people that are walking by are all deaf!😂
It amazes me how people walk by so much talent without stopping to enjoy it. You are so amazing and I'd never pass by without telling you that 💯❤️❤️❤️
This cover of BR is amazing. Usually, when I hear it you can make out what it is but it's not the same. This is so intricate and played to perfection
Outstanding! You really put huge effort into this performance and it was highly appreciated. :D What a wonderful time we live now, having an opportunity watching musicians as you are, growing to probably a musicians who will someday play at big concert halls.
Beautiful Freddie would be proud and thrilled that Queen’s music lives on. So talented! I’d love to hear In The Lap of The Gods and You Take My Breath Away ❤
Why isn’t this man at BGT or Worlds Got Talent and winning it? This is a real talent! Respect SiR! ❤️❤️❤️
I have been thinking the same he would win hands down
because these shows never treasures real talent
If Freddie seen this man I swear he would be singing right next to you 🙏🏼🙏🏼🔥🔥
Whenever I’m in st Pancras (not often) I always have a little piano sesh if I have the time. You killed it mate, could listen to you all day! The fact you’re 15 is insane, already 50x better than I was at your age, and when I was 15 I played much better than I do now lol. You’re fantastic, don’t ever change!
Genial viendo este vídeo antes de que se haga viral, increíble talento amigo eres increíble con el piano
The Group of QUEEN is really great, Congrats to this kid who played their music...Freddie mercury will always be remembered.
No matter how many times you play these songs, it's always a pleasure to listen to you.

Meraviglioso!!!! Emozioni senza fine.....tutta la band sarebbe orgogliosa di te con Freddie ad applaudire!!!!!! Grazie ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Never seen such a good piano player... AMAZING!!!
REmarkable young man. Absolutely beautiful rendition.
Fantastics, while there are countless renditions of this song by proper artists, I wonder how many truly feel that the original is really deeply emotional and painfully heart breaking. RIP Freddie.
So true....he did "throw it all away."..a reminder that life really is so short. I can't imagine how much more genius would have come from Freddy if he lived longer.
those 2 ladies has rich tastes in music ♥
You are so amazing with your piano, Cole Lam. Thank you for your beautiful music. You are humbled and handsome young man. Your parents must be really proud of you. You remind me of my son who is 23 years old. He also plays the piano too.
God bless you and your future.
This Young boy Just made me CRY! Thank you!
Wow Mr. Music. I am glad to see people slow down stop and listen and watch such great talent and music. Very well done.!!!!!!

Absolutely fantastic! Love how much emotion you have while playing such a difficult piece!
Only about 20 persons stopped to listen him. The rest are like they are deaf!! So sad 😢 That's the way this world is going, everyone in a hurry with no time to stop and appreciate this. His talent is awesome. Very, very good job.
You’re hard work and practice is apparent. I’m convinced Freddie would love and respect your interpretation of Queen’s most iconic song. Well done, young man. Well fucking done.
The world at your feet, and deservedly so, that was phenomenal Cole. Take a bow son!
I am sure Mr Brian May hasn‘t seen this video yet - if he had had, you would habe been on tour with them as the „warm up“ before Queen starts!
Incredible and wonderful. You are blessed with a lot of talent, Cole Lam!
Yes, you piano genius. It may have been the "umpteenth time" and I have listened to each....and for the umpteenth time you got a thundering applause and uproar from an audience that swelled while you played. Play it another umpteen and umpteen after that because Freddy Mercury is listening.
Haha. Don't worry gonna play it a lot more 😊
Excellent...🥰BRAVO!!! I love Freddie...🥰You definitely give justice to his very famous song...🥰Thank you for sharing your talent with us....🥰🥰🥰👏👏👏👏👏👏
The power of music to reach deep inside the human soul is second to none. To listen is so deep, to be able to do this and be in that magical moment where nothing else exists must be profound!!! More power to you young man, your gift has no boundaries.
I think Freddie would be pleased that so many still enjoys his music and also that people learn to play it. Great job Cole, you are very talented!
