The thing you pointed out about that "even with the best lighting your renders can look bad if you have bad shaders" it is also the same way around. If you have the best quality shaders it still can look bad if your lighting isn't realistic or optimised for the scene
Hey this is a really great video. I can see myself coming back here just to refresh myself on some of the points you make. Also, I suuuper struggle on making shaders. That's something I'm going to have to force myself to do until I can get at least a little comfortable with them. Thanks, Mr. Viper!
1:22 typical workflow for product visualization, but crucial thing to point out though. As we are used to see hyperrealistic products and people due to Photoshop and CGI in general a "simple" HDRI does not suffice to make products look pleasing anymore.
@@TheDizzyViper thank you for your tutorials and assets :P I am also still learning product visualization and found photography tutorials very helpfull as they sometimes compose their shots by combining photos with lights put in different positions.
@@TheDizzyViper Oh also you should totally make a tutorial on how to handle scatters and large displacement textures in octane! Its been a huge issue for me and friends who just started learning haha. My machine is pretty high end and it just bogs so much! cheers mate

Shaders seem very intimidating at first but once you get across the first hurdle its incredible :D Best of luck with your learning path :)
you are amazing thanks man! keep it up
1 quick tip: at some point tilting camera to few degrees sideways will give a spice to a render, its not 100% guaranteed but yk
