Been meaning to start working in embergen, excellent first tutorial to get started, especially since I've been obsessing over space lately. Appreciate ya!
Why not use the "new" particle system that comes with C4D? I am doing that now and it is looking pretty good. I just wanted to see what others have done and are doing. Your images are great!
Ive always used embergen, the new particle system is great for sure, its only been there for not too long tho, so while the particles system wasnt as great back then i started learning embergen. Now the particle system is phenomenal, i have yet to really dive into it
Hi! happy to hear, have fun. Im not sure multi year licenses exist with octane, but you surely can contact support and maybe they will set one up for you, their support is great
Why are you manouvering around a mayor issue here? Embergen in itself is great, but sadly it loses A LOT of Detail, once you export it to VDB. So You'll get pretty underwelming results in Other applications. (like Octane) I Guess, that's why you use the Pixel lab Assets in the end, right? But, why don't you simply adress this? Its not your fault in any way, but it is an important Issue that Embergen Users should be aware of, in my oppinion.
Great point you are making here. I did not not adress this on purpose, i just forgot to mention the "why" i show both, or well, that the embergen export itself is the issue, not embergen as software. And yes, thats why I use pixellab for some things, since they are much more detailed. You can get similar results with embergen, but the resolution would have to be very very high. if you like the embergen resolution of 1x lets say, then to get the same result in octane youd have to export like 3-4x
