As a Grandma that plays golf with a mid 20 handicap I agree. 1 shot per hole is adequate and fair. Especially in a 3 vs 1 scramble.

A scramble team of 3 should play of 1/6 of their combined handicap, so maybe around 12 or 13 for this gang.
You do realise when you play twos as a scramble it's roughly 50% of the handicap so if both 25 would be 12.5 why you're giving a team of 3 two shots a hole 🤦♂️🤣
Hope this doesn't come off patronising- but its so refreshing to see lads getting into the game and having a laugh on the course

They're mid 20s (apparently!) but as they get 3 goes each I don't think they needed 2 shots per hole....
Match play, 2 shots a hole with a 3 ball scramble is asking for a whooping, even Tiger would struggle with that! 😜🤣 I played Match Play against a high handicap 2 ball scramble and gave them 1 shot per hole and took it down to the 18th and lost on the last hole.
Cant give 3 guys 2 shots a hole and expect to win. Should have been a straight up scramble
Guess 2 shots/hole was a bit generous, normally in a scramble would be like 0.25,0.2 and 0.15 from lowest to highest hcp or similar. Peter could hardly have played any better… there was no contest! But great entertainment! Well done!

Dang! Some of the best golf you've played, in ridiculously wet conditions, but with a stacked opponent. Two shots in a scramble was VERY generous. Good sport anyway.

Pete, buddy, I don't think you thought this match all the way through XD You had to beat them by 3 STROKES to win any hole, and against a 3-man scramble, that would just be crazy tough to pull off, even if they're mid-20s!

It’s funny, after a winter of watching nothing but PGA Tour and yourself and Rick, I’m used to a certain standard of golf and convinced myself it relatively easy. Watching these guys reminds me where my game *actually* is 😂

Would've been nice to see a more competitive game even if it is for fun. Can't be giving 20 handicappers the equivalent of a 36 handicap advantage AND scramble. Prime Tiger wouldn't be beating that.
Very strange decision to give them 2 shots and scramble. Even a tour pro would struggle playing against 3 man scramble with 2 shots...
I am not sure why you bothered to challenge the guys. At two strokes per hole, they sould beat you as individuals, but playing as a scramble, you didn't stand a chance. You clearly don't understand why 20 handicappers have high handicaps. My friends and I all have handicaps in the low 20's, but we regularly score between 2 and 6 pars per round. It's the 3's and 5's off the tee, leading to triple and quadrupple boggeys that are the issue.
Even if you gave those three 1 shot a hole, I think you may have struggled a bit.

Why are they getting 2 strokes a hole if they're 25 handicappers? Wouldn't ONE player have to be a 32 handicap to get 2 stroke against a scratch? That's not even taking into account the 3 man scramble lol
Giving 2 shots a hole might have been acceptable if you were playing a single player but a scramble against 3 players? Ridiculous.

There's a great online Texas Scramble which works out shots based on numbers of players and handicaps. If Pete had used this he would have realised they got no more than a shot a hole, if that.
Good video but it soon became a one horse race which spoilt it. To give 3 guys 2 shots on every hole in a scramble does not make sense. There's every chance they will make par on a Par 3, which means you need a hole in one each time. Tiger Woods would struggle!

Basically in team scramble you need to half someone’s handicap… 9 shots would’ve been an actual match!
The lads should have had around 10 shots over 18 holes basis scramble handicapping and Pete of scratchish, Pete had no chance.

A 20 something handicapper is only going to get 2 shots on a few of the hardest holes if they are playing on their own and 1 shot on the others. Ridiculous idea to give a 3 man scramble 2 shots a hole otherwise it probably would have been a good game
