Just to clarify, I was mistaken when saying you get a free month to try Magellan, you will get two weeks to explore all Magellan TV has to offer before the great deal of 30 percent off an annual membership starts! Thank you so much, and happy watching!
Even though it's 3 months later, is that offer still available? I was on RUclips & searched your name to see if there are any new videos & this was the first one, I haven't watched this video so I figured it is new but then I saw it said 3 months ago!!! I love your videos, I love your passion for the victims & to get other true crime that aren't necessarily "high profile" cases... ALL missing person/ m**der, etc. are important! Some of these victims are mother, fathers, brothers, sisters, daughters, sons, grandparents & friends so even though some cases don't get the exposure they deserve (if that makes sense) you speak about them! I promise you every single day I will get notifications that people have been shot and k*lled in Paterson N.J. but you never really hear about it on the news it's just a News application I downloaded so I get all different types of news from my area. I try to read them but they don have much, and then ☆ POOF☆ another day another m**der... have a great day😊
I do want to clarify some thing all I said is on your one of your videos I said how could you be the twin brother when she never mentioned a twin brother Anna everybody’s calling me a troll and I said people on here do that to get attention and they’re calling me a Trois and a troll and this and that and I just want to clarify if that doesn’t get if that continues I’m not longer going to follow anybody on here and I’ll just go back to kennel ray for little bit

I have never commented on a youtube video before, but I felt compelled to do so today after I had the misfortune of innocently googling the theme song played in Stephanie's Coffee & Crime Videos. While doing so, I stumbled across *many* hate-fueled reddit posts (and those on various other platforms) and read a surprising amount of negative, woefully misguided comments regarding her execution of the content she puts forth and complaints that her unique stylized "deep dives" are too long/detailed. Perhaps many people do not understand that etymology, sociological factors and (complex) trauma that occur in someone's early life (aka the "nurture" component) are *essential* to understanding motivation, the full breadth of a psychological diagnosis, and neuropsychology (e.g. trauma can dramatically affect the neurological pathways in a growing brain). I am guessing most true crime enthusiasts (including myself) ask, "how can someone *do* that?" or "what was their motive?" in response to a multitude of seemingly inexplicable, horrifying behaviors/actions discussed in these videos. What I love about Stephanie is that she knows that this is crucial to understanding the context and motivation of each perpetrator. I am a Licensed Clinical Psychotherapist in private practice who works with Axis II patients (aka serious and oftentimes dangerous Personality Disorders). All of the "ridiculously unnecessary details" (real quote) are actually what sets her apart from other True Crime RUclipsrs. Additionally....the complaints that she "unnecessarily plugs products for way too long" at the onset of each video are a bit ridiculous. This is how youtubers make money giving us weekly, compelling (free) content. She should be compensated for her extensive research on these videos that so often get de-monetized. OK I just realized this has turned into a dissertation that no one will likely read. That being said, Stephanie.....if you read this, thank you for all of your tirelessly researched content. Your videos have given me a glimmer of light during the shit show of COVID-19 (Therapists like myself have been working triple time over the past year). You'd be an excellent Forensic Psychologist, though selfishly I am glad you chose this path :-) Ok that's it (steps off soap box). Enjoyed this video.
I loved your comment and appreciate that you took the time to write it. I try to ignore people who feel they must share their negative views about someone’s work. I often see the same time of commentary about details and exposition in book groups. I am one who wants every scrap of detail. However, if I didn’t, I’d just move on and not read or follow that author or content provider. Thank you for sharing your thoughtful comment.
I love the Bonnie and Clyde series, but my soul lit up with the warmth of a fresh pot of coffee as soon as I heard the old intro. I love everything you upload, but I did miss this
Same. I’ve listened to all 3 Bonnie and Clyde videos twice now. Was really hoping this video would be a Bonnie and Clyde part 4, but I’m just happy to have a Stephanie video.
@@breelauren3748 Great you have answered my question,i thought i was going mad,i was wondering where Bonnie and Clyde part 4 was, can't understand why she has done this before that lol seems a little strange,or maybe it's me lol
I actually really enjoy the Bonnie and Clyde series. Didn’t think I would but the way you tell the stories is really entertaining. You really dig deep into these cases. Love it!
I actually haven't watched it yet because I'm so tired of Bonnie and Clyde. I am aware that Stephanie will tell the story so I become interested even if I wasn't, but I just didn't watch yet.
I have to say as a former addict, you handled the topic so respectfully (as always) and this is why I love it here! You create such a good environment. I am probably the most understanding person out there about erratic behavior as a former hero*n addict... however, I still think Aaron did it. Not that anyone’s asking, but I speculate that the mom knows and does not want to lose another child. It for sure wouldn’t be the first case of that.
I lived in Oakland for many years and know all these locations well. Every time I have driven up Park Blvd. past the ravine, I wonder how many bodies have been tossed into it over the years. I lived down south temporarily when Mandy Stokes went missing, and so just learned about this case yesterday. I have since also watched the Investigation Discovery episode on Mandy's disappearance. I think Aaron did it. Why oh why did the OPD wait so long to examine Mandy's apartment??
As an opioid addict I don't think he had done anything really "suspicion" in the context of murdering his sister. It's very common, that addicts steal from their family members and like Stephani said, if he knew that Mandy just left the appartment in fully well state, he wouldn't see letting police in as anything helpful for her - obviously he was afraid he would be arrested for having drugs. And I can relate with all not-cooperativeness thing - drug addicts, as far I know, may feel a deep hatred towards the police at general, the hand of an opressing (from our point of view - I know, that nobody else really care) law under wchich recreative using/possesion of small amount of substances can easily put you in prison. Why do you think he did this? I can only see drug addict's habits there. Now I'm on recovery, clean from any illegal drugs (just taking methadone) and try my best to rebuilt my life and my love ones trust, but I have done some terrible things which I will probably regret my whole life. I never was physically violent to anyone though and I can't imagine hurting someone close to me in order to get money. We can act like compelete asholes, but it doesn't mean that we don't live in constant guilt about that and pose a threat to the life and health of others.
So hi!! Love this channel!! Attorney here! When it comes to the police searching a dwelling it does not necessarily come down to the person being the one on the lease or not. You would think so, but the key is what is called “reasonable expectation of privacy.” Being that he was a roommate/ authorized person that was dwelling in that apartment is enough for him to refuse the police when they asked him to consent to a search.
As an addict in recovery and someone who professionally works with addicts. I really appreciate how you explained her brother’s behaviors without judgement. And explained an addicts logic incredibly well, and not a way that perpetually stigmatizes addiction. Love your videos! Thanks for existing!
@@randomtology2173 she didn't go super in depth but that's okay because when she was explaining it it wasn't based off of stigma and judgement and portrayed in a negative light like we see often in media. I understand what you're saying though.
Just a theory: she goes to the bank (1st atm stop), sees how low her balance is and that’s what caused the first fight with her brother. Later, she leaves in her car, notices her gas is low, goes to get her bank card and saw it wasn’t there. Then she goes back(which accounts for her circling her apartment) confronts the brother and he kills her, then he goes and drains her bank account(2nd atm stop). I really think the mom is in denial about her son and that’s why her account always skews in his favor.
Good call. Sounds completely a normal way of how things went. She could of also called her boyfriend from outside when she was going in her place and call ended when he grabbed her. Mom definitely doesn’t want to lose both son and daughter.. denial.
Yeah, Whitney, I totally agree with you. I feel really bad for their mother... and as a mother myself... I can totally understand where her heart is and where she is coming from. However, I truly believe her son knows exactly what happened to his sister. Sad situation all the way around... My heart hurts for all of them and I pray they each find their own peace.
It has happened yes but that doesn't mean all drug addicts are killers. I feel like this story is way too strange to say one way or the other what happened but i don't personally believe with the evidence available that it was the brother. if more evidence comes to light though i'm open to changing that opinion.
I love the fact that Stephanie really takes her time and looks into the crimes, spends hours doing this. Its not a 5 min job, takes ages to gather the information. Great lady.
There was some possibility for me that Aaron didn't do it, until the fact that he drained her bank account completely. It sounds like he was stealing smaller amounts before. But to take basically all the money out? That sounds like someone who knows his sister isn't around anymore to care.
Something that struck me as odd (I'm only 22 minutes in) was how Aaron said he was in the shower when Mandy yelled to him that she was going out. He said he yelled back to her "love ya" before she left. So if he's in the shower, how can he be so specific about exactly what pants Mandy was wearing when she left the apartment and exaxtly what items she was holding in her hands? (keys, wallet, cellphone). 🤔 Also, how can he be so sure that she got into her vehicle and drove away? He was in the washroom taking a shower when he said she left.
I don’t believe she even told him she was going out. They had just had an awful argument about him stealing her money. First of all, they would still be fighting, he would not say “love you” like everything was all good and dandy. The cops found some biological evidence so maybe they got into some physical violence. She fled the apartment to decide what to do and he was probably just sitting there. She leaves and calls her boyfriend, still bleeding. If they found this biological evidence, why doesn’t the boyfriend in NY mention her being hurt. There is no way she would get cut and not include that in her pleas to fly back to him.
I think this falls under a "technically true" answer. Many people who impulsively murder for "reasons" tell a truth that just skirts around the actual truth. He did take a shower. He did see her with those belongings at some point. He did tell her he loved her. Just not in that order, on that day. Nothing he did say was untrue, it was just probably not the answer to the question of what happened, that day, the last time he saw her. We see that with many other cases, where a family member recites the last day but then later is found to be involved, ie: Chris Watts, Tee Stauchs, etc. JMO. I'd have to see him speak about it to judge any further.
I thought exactly this when listening and checked the comments to see if anyone else agreed. And having watched statement analysts on youtube, the "Love ya" comment itself reminds me of when statement analysts point out that a person has a need to persuade the listener of something, in this case that everything was ok between them, which suggests it wasn't.
"Gotta dust this off it's been awhile" gave me so much excitement bc I knew we were about to hear the song! It's amazing that someone with so many subscribers still somehow makes me feel like I'm with a close group of friends 👍
She liked my comment and I feel like I won money on a scratch ticket or something. Super stoked about it--thats never happened to me before and obviously a big fan!💜😍☕
Coming from a recovering heroin addict (clean for over 4 years now) thank you so much for speaking so respectfully of active addicts and addiction. ❤️ It’s refreshing to hear understanding and kindness surrounding the subject. Kindness does more to help someone want to recover rather than shame or hatefulness.
I was an addict for 20 years and now I'm 5 years sober. I totally understand the feeling of people who talk bad about it. It's a disease that is so hard to recover from. Props to those who appreciate the struggle and strength it takes. Congratulations on your sobriety ❤
As someone who’s struggles with heroin addiction in the past myself here’s my two cents - if you do opiates for long enough you break the threshold of chill and the high can hop you up and keep you up for days. I would stay up for like 4 days in a row and lose my mind just smoking oxy and shooting tar when I was younger. Even when you’re not in a state of withdrawal I’d say those drugs and what they do to you easily can warp your mind into someone you don’t recognizes who would do despicable things. I wouldn’t put it past her brother honestly.
Michelle Hernandez: I agree with you. My husband is a drug addict. It started innocently with pain pills from a back injury. When the pain pill prescription wasn't enough, he moved on to smoking heroin because it was cheaper than buying pain pills, and a once lovely, easy-going, hard-working man changed into somebody I didn't recognize after 32 years of being together. Of course at first I didn't know he was using more than his prescribed pain pills, much less buying drugs off the street. I had noticed a change in personality and actions, but whenever I asked if something was wrong, he said no, of course not, that work was stressful. Then he got fired. I thought he was having a stress breakdown or was going through a depression. He didn't even attempt to go back to work, so we had to sell our nice home we had owned for over 10 years because I couldn't afford it on my wages alone, and we moved our four-person family into my parents' house. The whole time I was thinking he'd get himself right, go back to work, and that being at my parents' house would just be temporary. Then I started finding squares of tinfoil with thick black lines burned onto them, and I started doing research and started really watching him, and one day I caught him with his tinfoil, smoking black tar heroin. He tried to tell me it was marijuana wax, which I knew it wasn't. I tried getting him help. He never returned to work, and I continued working and struggling to keep our heads above water. My parents both died, so we had to move. As time progressed and our savings ran out, he'd stay gone for 12, 24, even 36 hours at a time. About once a week he'd sleep for a full day, but other than that it was sleeping for very short periods of time and then being up, wanting money, being gone. He lied, lied, lied constantly about everything, stole from our home, me, family members, stores, friends, everybody. If I didn't give him money when he asked (demanded) because I could barely pay our monthly bills and had none to give him that day, he would take it forcefully from me in the form of literally yanking me around till he pried my purse out of my grip, or pushing me down to get to my purse. He would get SO ANGRY that he'd push me, throw dishes around, throw full soda cans at me, yank doors off hinges, and then say, "Look what you made me do. This isn't me. I'm not this type of person," and I would answer him back with, "Yes, you are this type of person now." He blamed everything and everybody else, and never took responsibility for ANYTHING, not the red light tickets, or the smashed rear windshield of his car, or the missing items from home, or even his foot nearly rotting off and his toe being amputated because he had undiagnosed diabetes and got a puncture wound on the bottom of his foot that didn't heal properly and went septic, all the while refusing to go to the doctor because it would interfere with his getting his drugs that day. I had told him over and over and over to go to the doctor, go to the doctor, go to the doctor and even made appointments for him, but he wouldn't go until it was almost too late to save his foot. He was lucky to only lose a toe. My point is, yes, when an addict needs a fix, they have a VERY ERRATIC TEMPER and a VERY SHORT FUSE, and they WILL act out and do things they never would do sober, and sometimes don't even remember they've done. I've seen it with my own two eyes, with a man I thought I knew like the back of my hand.
I just feel that someone in the middle of their addiction would not be such a perfect criminal, like Aaron would sloppy af and I doubt that he was so good at hiding the body etc.
Even if you call the “wrong” police department, they will either give you the direct number to the correct district or immediately transfer you over. So that’s a total load of bull he is spit tin’.
Could have just been one number off, so it didn't connect to anyone, or just a random person or business. Still why wouldn't you just try again, although that is logical thought, a drug addict might not consider.
Could be.. but he specifically stated the “wrong police department”... so That’s what automatically made me think that; but you are right too.. either way you’d think he would try more than once lol
actually, thats not true i called the police department closest to me, and they said that i was jsut over the line, so they had no jurisdiction (this was for an assault that i witnessed, which was happening when i called the department.) then they hung up.
In CA you don't have to be on the lease, if you live in a house and can prove it's your main dwelling (like getting mail there) it's considered your residence and you can deny police entry as much as the legal lessee
I was just going to comment something like this. It's the same for IN. As long as they can prove contractual interest or prove that they've been living there for a specified amount of time according to that city, they have established residency and do not need to be on the lease to be considered a legal resident.
Aaron will forever have to live with the fact when he comes out of his coma he was more interested in getting high than immediately putting out a police report to find his sister.
Or he did it because when you're in withdrawal the consequences for stealing don't matter at that moment, you tell yourself you'll deal with it later, you'll fix it later. It's a lot more likely that he just kept going because no one was stopping him, he was stressed out about everything, and he didn't know what else to do to get well. Most heroin addicts aren't violent, especially to the point of murder. Not saying he definitely didn't do anything to her, but the bank account draining isn't proof of murder, it's proof he wanted his fix and had an easy way to get money for it.
When I was addicted to heroin all my emotions were 100 times more intense. So if I was happy, sad, or angry, those emotions would be so much stronger when I was high. I remember fighting with my ex while we were both high and I’m not sure how one of us didn’t end up killing the other or seriously injuring each other. When we weren’t fighting, I remember feeling so much more in love with him then I was when I was sober. I definitely wouldn’t be surprised if she was killed by her brother. They say in AA that when you use drugs after some time sober you wake up the demon. The demon is cunning, baffling and powerful.
All of this! Thank you for sharing your story. Addiction is an unpredictable beast... combined with other potential mental issues, could seriously spin out of control.
Congrats on your sobriety! My sis has been an H addict for 20 ish yrs and she can be an absolute monster, has gone to jail for trying to kill my dad (because she couldn't get drugs, he literally did nothing.) It's brutal. I am always happy to see someone who made it out and has a better life.
As much as I hate to say it, for the family’s sake, I think it was the brother. I have a sibling that is a recovering addict so I don’t say that in judgment. What’s sad is the mother will probably end up losing both children.
There's a story here in Canada where the brother made up a story about some people ambushing his house and he escapes but his sister gets shot in the head. I actually think he was planning on killing all of them and getting life insurance money but his plan didn't work out. His poor parents still visit his evil ass in jail.
Definitely so so sad what the opioid epidemic is doing to our, I was gonna say young people but people of all ages are losing their lives. I’m 61 & have been in recovery for 31 years but I’m scared to death of relapse being I live with chronic pain. I refuse to take any opioids because I know where it will take me. I really hope it wasn’t her brother & I 🙏🏻 that he makes it to treatment. Or as you said the mom will eventually loose him too. 🥺
As an ex addict who knows addicts I can say it's not too far fetched My ex bf beat me while I was pregnant trying to keep his mom debit card away from him.
@@mariearchambeault145 the issue isn't that they're addicts. the issue is that they were already bad people. i never stole never physically hurt anyone. i know many addicts that were the same. if you do shitty things like that on drugs you'd do it sober
It's sad that you literally did the Bonnie and Clyde videos to celebrate your birthday and do something just for you and yet people still wanted to complain about not getting what they want. Every time I see one of those comments, it practically gets my blood boiling. I love the Bonnie and Clyde series because I can tell it's something you're really excited about!
Stephanie you are the absolute best storyteller! @PeRFeCT IMPeRFeCTiON that drink is tasty but without a few extra shots a bit too sweet for me! Which is crazy bc I used to be the “want some coffee with that creamer?” Person lol
My sister was standing in a dark corner calling me over to help her, I fortunately have taken many self defense and kickboxing classes for years so I kicked her ass, but I found her holding a brick planning to hit me and take my purse. So yes, withdrawal is something evil.
So, if Aaron was in the shower and just yelled to Mandy that he loved her before she left, how does he know what she was wearing so specifically? He didn't just describe her outfit she was wearing for that day, he was pretty specific with the description of her when she had left.
The only thing I can think of (other than lying obviously) is that's what he saw before he got in the shower and he assumed it was all still the same when she left.
Stephanie when you said “I missed you” to the coffee at the beginning….I felt that in my soul. 😭😭 Also, you did a great job covering this case as usual. You are such an amazing voice for these victims. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I understand almost the entire comment section believes the brother Aaron did it & has a theory how it went down....but they checked the ravine for her body. So if he DID do it.... what would he have done with the body? Interested to see peoples theories on that half of it.
It's a bit misleading to call it a ravine. Diamond park in the Oakland Hills (rich white folk) is more of a trailhead and corridor linking up to other parks with pretty accessible hiding places. The place her car was found is close to a bridge that definitely is used by drug users as a place to go that is out of the way-hidden but close to the center of town. Where her car was found is also reasonably close to both the bay and the Piedmont Cemetery, easily could have been dumped and not found. Just my 2 cents with knowledge of the area
As a recovering heroin addict that used for ten years, I don’t necessarily agree with the whole “you throw their drugs away and they will snap” thing. We’re all still people, although our lives are dictated by a drug, I would be LIVID but I would never get violent with anyone, especially one of my family members. If he did this, which I’m strongly leaning towards, he’s just a psychopath/sociopath that happens to also have a heroin addiction. If you’re able to murder your own blood over drugs... you’re just a monster who happens to use. Just my opinion..(not saying that’s your outlook on it or anything, just wanted to throw that out there anyhow)
I agree. Also heroin addict and I couldn't even steal from people which is a common practice among addicts. Let alone murder. If you're gonna murder someone, youre just a murderer and a monster with or without drugs.
I agree totally with what you said I'm also a recovering heroin addict. I have had my drugs thrown away and of course I was extremely angry but I never considered to get violent because I knew if I did I would go to jail and couldn't get more drugs so that doesn't pan out. Just like she was saying us drug addicts will do anything and everything to avoid not being able to get our drugs and that means going to jail. But I totally agree with your statement.
Lol, thats exactly what I asked. I also found it strange that he said she left and got into her vehicle and drove away. Again, he said he was in the shower. How can he be so sure she got in the car and left? 🤔 I think its pretty obvious that her brother knows a lot more than he's admitting. I think she confronted him about the money he was stealing from her account and told him she was moving and he had to go find new living arrangements. I think he killed her.
Maybe he was in the shower but she knocked on the door and went into the bathroom. He may have poked his head out from the shower curtain and spoke with her before she left.
She probably came in and kissed him bye? And turned off the hot water 🤣🤣 i do that shit to my husband every time he takes a shower. While hes washing his face i sneak in and turn the hot water valve off and then haul ass 🤣🤣🤣 he secretly loves it... he wont admit it but hed miss me doing it if i died 😆 Edit: wait thats her brother hahaha i thought it was her bf for some stupid reason... ok x the kiss could bye but she might have knocked on door and he stuck his head out or he saw her before he got in shower
Usually if you call the wrong number of a police station or dispatch area, they can transfer you to the correct one or at least give you the right number. They’re not just going to hang up the phone with you without giving you some direction.
It was probably Aaron. Their mom dorsnt want to lose another child. But She deserves to rest in peace. They made their choices....she deserves to at least have her soul rest and go in peace. Same for him. You can get away from human justice but he’ll have bigger problems when his time comes..

@@VegemiteQueen1 it was indeed! Puppy girl (as my son calls her) is potty trained but does have an occasional tinkle when one of us comes home and she's too excited about it 🤣
Hey, that could be the theme of your own channel! I’d listen. I’m packing for a trip and listening. Unfortunately far too disorganised to talk coherently about anything. Need to remember to pack pants. And coffee.
Legally, if he is a resident of the apartment, he has a reasonable expectation of privacy in the apartment. So, even though his name isn't on the lease, he can still decline consent to search. That's why the police didn't just come in - they didn't have consent and at that point in the investigation, it appears that there were no other circumstances that would allow for a warrantless search. Edited to add: Of course, this isn't intended to serve as legal advice and should not be taken as such. Just a bit of education from someone licensed to practice law in 2 states. 😊
@@MrTaxiRob I would argue that with only his consent, they could search common spaces and his space, but nothing he didn't have regular access to/use of, like her bedroom.
@@JennyNichole07 yes. girl. 👏🏻 i like had to pause the video bc this part bothered me so much saying the police did not do their due diligence. appreciate your comment 🙏🏻
My question is why , if the Mom is on the phone with him when they arrive, she didnt find it strange or say anything when he refused their entrance. I would have been livid!
Recovered heroin addict here, the scene outside the apartment kinda sounds like she was playing keep away with his dope. People often make the mistake that thinking getting rid of someone's drugs will help, when in actuality it only makes the situation worse in the short term and does nothing in the long term (most of the time, if this isn't your experience that's perfectly valid, I don't need you to come for me). On the one hand, I can see him getting angry, possibly a little violent, and definitely stealing her money, opiates don't typically make otherwise non violent people become muderously violent, or completely divorced from reality like speed or hallucinogens. On the other hand, it being him seems like the most obvious answer, which is often the right one.
Tbh I think it's super common for people to use both opiates and amphetamines. When they get too low they look for an upper, which could easily overlap withdrawl. So you could get a person desperate for a fix and violently out of reality at the same time. My ex was a tweaker but died from an opiate overdose 🤷♀️
First of all, I love when a person can be open about their struggles etc so I def respect that and admire you for that, second I totally can see your point....
That "I missed you" to the coffee was so cute. 😂 I love both the series and the coffee and crime time! The level of work you put in to ever case is amazing and I learn so much watching your videos.
I’ve been binging all your older videos during this heat wave in Italy and enjoying every minute. You are probably my most favorite True Crime channel because you are so genuine and it’s obvious the work you put into each and every case. I think the brother did it and probably his dealer helped with the disposal of her body and they got lucky that it was never found. It something he has to live with. She went back to the apartment after visiting the ATM maybe just to charge her phone. She was disappointed in the NY boyfriend and Mandy probably told her brother to get out and he snapped. My 2 cents.
Ok, anyone else think it’s weird that Aaron “yelled ‘love you!’ from the shower” yet knew she was wearing jogging pants and that she was carrying her wallet, cell phone and iPod? Very specific details he was able to just see from the shower I reckon.....
yes, I thought about that, unless if it was just conjecture from him seeing her walking around maybe before he got in the shower, but unless he was talking to her at the time, it is kind of a weird thing to yell, or even know she was walking out the door at that moment, unless she was yelling she was leaving?
Contradiction........if it was no big deal that she would just up and leave with no notice, then why would Aaron call the mom when she didn't come home after just one night? If this was not unusual behavior then it would probably take a few days of her not coming back for him to mention it or think it was unusual.
The tone of his voice when he called his mom is clinch in this case, the mother knows when his kid is lying or not. That’s where the investigation should focus and begin.
It wasn't specified whether he called his mom or if she called him, if she called him because she couldn't get ahold of Mandy and asked if she was there and he informed her that she hadn't come home yet, the mom could have been the one who was worried since no one could get ahold of her. I still think it's a good chance that he was involved but depending on the details, that may or may not be a contradiction. I'm curious as to know what his explanation is for how he obtained her debit card, if she used it that day but according to Aaron, never came back after leaving that morning, how is it possible for him to be in possession of her debit card. I wish we had more specifics.
@@robertklimeck1918 i think its just as possibly aaron is involved as the boyfriend. i think a lot of people want to blame him because hes an addict. if he wasn't an addict people would be talking about how the boyfriend is shifting ALL the focus on the brother and immediately suggested she killed herself.
I don't drink coffee but now I'm tempted, especially when I see the way Stephanie puts it altogether w/Hershey's chocolate syrup and some kind of cream! Looks delish!💗☕🍫🥛
I love the way Stephanie calls the most heinous people "douchebags" with a venom that makes it sound like the most disgusting insult you could be called and this look like she will absolutely fight all of them and win.
Stephanie I seriously DO NOT understand why you have not got 1 million subscribers or more! I love the way you tell these stories that need to be told. ❤️🙏
Missing person cases are scary...there's no closure. Every missing case I encounter haunts me for the victim and the family equally, even the communities affected. You voice is so soothing. I just love you Stephanie your my close in my head I swear lol. Your content is amazing. I trust your reporting more than TV bc you go in to details.
I mean her brother sounds suspicious , but my question is , if he killed her what did he do with the body ? I dont see him finding a way to hide what he did , and disposing of her body with almost no evidence left behind. If he was experiencing withdrawal or was high on heroin would he have had the clarity and skill needed to hide or dispose of her body ? I saw the theory in the comments that he might have trafficked her, and that sounds more propable to me than him executing the whole thing by himself.
i honestly dont think he could have killed her or hid her. to traffick her idk. we'd have to know what kind of drug dealers he had. not all dealers know how to traffick people. like in fact its a hella small percentage of them that would even consider doing that. i honestly don't like that theory it makes drug addicts sound way more dangerous than they really are ya know?
@@cheycheyfriend247 yeah I agree with you , when I was listening that the police had him as the main suspect I imagined them being like"well he is an addict so he did it".I really dont believe in the trafficking theory its just sounds more propable than him basically executing the perfect murder. Maybe the police has more evidence than we know but still..Also the guy with the memory loss , how weird..
@@eris5200 yeah like on this amount of evidence i can't say for sure whether he did it or not. seeing how deep he is into his addiction i have absolutely NO idea how he could have pulled this off on his own. and i hear ya it is more probable.
Just wanted to let you know that I have listened to other crime time channels and yours is by far the best. I appreciate that you dig deep for information and you analyze these cases. Thank you!
I love your videos because of how clear you tell these and give us nothing but the facts and you also tell it in a way that everyone can understand. And I love how respectful you are to these family’s.
My fiancé while you were talking about not having caffeine in a while “oh yeah I feel her. I hate when I feel like I’ve been drinking too much caffeine....CHAI!??! That sounds great.....do we have some?” 😂😂😂 obsessed with your videos as always! Hope you’re doing well❤️
No one covers a case like you, Stephanie! I look forward to your videos. I feel like any of the scenarios are possible. It’s a tough one. I hope one day there is closure, my heart goes out to Mandy’s family.
I think that it’s so amazing that even though your in the middle of a big series that you take the time to film this. I think it’s great that you listen to your community even if some people are being pushy. I personally watch any and every video you post and just feel grateful that In the middle of a series we get a bonus video. For anyone who is upset about the Bonney and Clyde series. Give it a CHANCE you know Stephanie only brings us the best content and she worked very hard to bring us that series - show love and support ♥️♥️
Wait, he supposedly was in the shower when she left but knew what she was carrying? Also the last words he said to her was "love you"? After they had just a fight that seemed to last a longtime? Just my opinion but his story doesn't add up
Exactly. I came here to say this exact thing. If he was in the shower how in the world would he know what she was wearing or what she was carrying? He did it 100%.
I mean i would say I love you to my boyfriend eventhough when we're fighting, just because we fight, doesnt mean I dont love him anymore. But all the other things you said are sus
@@Jillberto true. Everyones different. Tbh i am a little biased since I have a close relative who is a drug addict and when hes aggressive or angry he isn't going to tell me he loves me. He usually saves that for when he's trying to get me to give him $$🙄.
one thing I'm really hung up on is how did Aaron know what Mandy was wearing when she left? According to him, he was in the shower and stayed in the shower. This case is strange and fishy
He could have peaked out from the shower door and seen her but I think he was probably describing what he last saw her in meaning she might not have actually been in those clothes.
I agree that her brother's behavior isn't really that bizarre when you factor in his addiction. That doesn't mean he didn't do anything, but it *does* mean it confuses the situation.

It's so weird seeing people call 'coffee and crime time' the old Stephanie 🥺 I still remember when you started making coffee and crime time videos. For me 'old Stephanie' is mystery Monday and make up lol
Yep I remember when her channel name had something to do with beauty. Can’t remember exactly what it was but when I first started watching her I was so confused by her channel name!
Bailey Sarian is shoveling millions of subs by basically jacking Stephanie's original concept at the moment. I watch her too, but it pisses me off a little that Stephanie does way more work, and I feel doesn't get nearly the same amount of recognition.
@@malatruba5996 agreed. Like I said I appreciate Bailey but I'm a little taken aback at all the comments within the last year on her channel praising her to the skies. Her concept is a ripped off one. Before she did Murder Mystery Makeup Monday, she had less than 300k subs and had vids with less than 20k views. She kind of had to, ahem, *steal someones idea to be successful.* I'm sorry but 🤷♀️
50:05 I'm glad you mentioned it. Anything could have happened to this poor girl :-( I lived in SF 4 years and used to take the BART through Oakland for work.
Yay! Starting my Sunday with stephanie harlowe is a great start to the end of the weekend! Love all the research and dedication you put into these videos! You are the Queen of true crime
I love the way you create atmosphere with all the small but important details! I can actually become sooooo absorbed I forget where I am lol. You're very appreciated. 🙏😁
This case makes me sad. I’m an Oakland resident and native, and I vaguely remember hearing about this because I think I saw it on the news. I can relate to Mandy on pretty much everything that she struggled with.
I agree. This case got short shrift here. No public follow up. I don’t think the brother so whacked out on heroine could have so meticulously covered his tracks (no pun intended) and disposed of her body to never be found to this day. Seems like someone abducted her from her car; may have stumbled upon her and convenient. A lot of shady dark markets around here and dangerous gangs. She could have been at the wrong place, at the wrong time.
Depending on the neighborhood, some people just keep to themselves and don't get involved unfortunately. Especially if arguments are a regular thing. My ex lived in a apartment complex where if someone wasn't outside arguing, it was a strange day or night. When we would call it in, it would be hours before the police would arrive to do a check on it because it was so common.
In my neighborhood, someone reported that my husband was screaming at me in the garage when in reality, he was listening to the radio and building shelves. I wasn't even home. So...
Coffee and crime times are what I watch when I have a free hour to relax but know i dont have longer than that before i have to get back to studying or school. Your deep dives are what i watch on a day when I have no overdue work or have allocated a rest day because I like to watch them all as close together as possible so I dont forget or miss details because I'm preoccupied. I always find something to watch on this channel and I love them both - I'll be watching the bonnie and clyde deep dive this friday coming ❤
Also, I’m in recovery from a heroin addiction that lasted for years and I definitely agree with everything that your source said. I can totally see how that may have happened.
If it was a stranger, how did the biological evidence get in the home and car? I think this is why the police think Aaron did it. Like you, I wish we knew what that evidence was and who it belonged to
Thing is, we don't know what it was. Other cases have been prosecuted with no body but with biological evidence plus circumstantial evidence - look at the Gannon Staunch case - Leticia was arrested for murder with no body after they found bio evidence and other circumstantial evidence. With that in mind, why haven't they arrested Aaron? It might be tiny traces or maybe not even blood. That's why it's quite dangerous when police don't release all the info, which I know they can't because it's an open investigation, but with all the holes it just leads to nothing but speculation which can and has ruined many people's lives. Kerry in the UK 💖
I hear ya... other cases have been prosecuted with no body as well and with circumstantial evidence. Being able to have 1 bite of the apple... double jeapordy, I can understand why they'd want to wait until have a slam dunk case. Just by what Stephanie has said about the case, I lean toward Aaron. I also listened to Unfound video about this case. I feel for the mom... and I hope she gets closure and justice and that Aaron is cleared of any wrong doing for her sake.
Maybe Aaron trafficked his sister in exchange for drugs especially if Mandy had intervened with one of his dealers. I think he was involved. However, after you said he believed that Mandy was still alive somewhere either means he knew something happened to her but he didn't kill her himself and he's just in deep denial about how and why she went missing.
I kind of thought that too. I wondered, if she approached a drug dealer, what are the chances that dealer might trade drugs for the sister to A.) keep a good customer and B.) get her out of the way for him. Realistically, if she made trouble, he might not be involved at all. Someone else around him could have just seen a very easy target.
I read it, and I think it’s pretty awesome that you took the time to leave such a comment. ♥️
I read it💕 Great commentary! I agree, if ppl don’t enjoy someone’s content. They should simply not watch. No need to be rude.
Edit: type of commentary, not time. 🙂
I read it too & completely agree. I love details & some ppl are just assholes. I hope she sees this!!💖💖💖

I'm in recovery too, and I agree she did a great job explaining alcoholism and addiction without judgement. 💕
I was going to say the same thing! The way she explained addiction was very well. Most people don’t see addiction that way
i thought she didnt do it justice. i too am a recovering opioid and speed addict, and work with addicts (NA/AA)
@@randomtology2173 she didn't go super in depth but that's okay because when she was explaining it it wasn't based off of stigma and judgement and portrayed in a negative light like we see often in media. I understand what you're saying though.
@@melissamarina4884 oh, yeah i agree with that.
Mom definitely doesn’t want to lose both son and daughter.. denial.
Very likely scenario.
Whitney we think alike. I had these same thoughts.
Sounds like the best scenario .... He's going to tell his mother, because he knows his mother is going to be looking for her ....
I know a woman who was stabbed to death by her own son because of his drug addiction. I believe her brother killed her.
Sad, but true.
Of course those things happen. I agree. The brother looks very good for this crime.
Here's your one chance, "Fanci" don't let me down!--Reba McIntyre.
It has happened yes but that doesn't mean all drug addicts are killers. I feel like this story is way too strange to say one way or the other what happened but i don't personally believe with the evidence available that it was the brother. if more evidence comes to light though i'm open to changing that opinion.
That little whisper of "I missed you" to the coffee was pretty cute.
Good point!
Bingo. He knew she wouldn’t be around.
Exactly!
I think that’s possible, but also drug addicts are going to be drug addicts. Maybe he needed more and more money to feed his addiction.
@@bruppieo5118 Yeah but what are the chances that he'd coincidentally decide to clean her out right after she disappears?
Something that struck me as odd (I'm only 22 minutes in) was how Aaron said he was in the shower when Mandy yelled to him that she was going out. He said he yelled back to her "love ya" before she left. So if he's in the shower, how can he be so specific about exactly what pants Mandy was wearing when she left the apartment and exaxtly what items she was holding in her hands? (keys, wallet, cellphone). 🤔
Also, how can he be so sure that she got into her vehicle and drove away? He was in the washroom taking a shower when he said she left.
I don’t believe she even told him she was going out. They had just had an awful argument about him stealing her money. First of all, they would still be fighting, he would not say “love you” like everything was all good and dandy. The cops found some biological evidence so maybe they got into some physical violence. She fled the apartment to decide what to do and he was probably just sitting there. She leaves and calls her boyfriend, still bleeding. If they found this biological evidence, why doesn’t the boyfriend in NY mention her being hurt. There is no way she would get cut and not include that in her pleas to fly back to him.
yup
This was my same thought!!! He was not in the shower imo

Respect for you on your recovery
I cannot imagine how hard each day must have been for you, and probably still is . Keep strong
congrats on the recovery!
@@ShastaAnn I'm sorry you went through that. I hope he got help and you guys are okay and you are safe.

actually, thats not true i called the police department closest to me, and they said that i was jsut over the line, so they had no jurisdiction (this was for an assault that i witnessed, which was happening when i called the department.) then they hung up.
In CA you don't have to be on the lease, if you live in a house and can prove it's your main dwelling (like getting mail there) it's considered your residence and you can deny police entry as much as the legal lessee
True, not only in CA.
That’s interesting.
I was just going to comment something like this. It's the same for IN. As long as they can prove contractual interest or prove that they've been living there for a specified amount of time according to that city, they have established residency and do not need to be on the lease to be considered a legal resident.
It’s Fourth Amendment law. It’s the same throughout the United States. Long term residents can consent or not; property owners and managers cannot.
Exactly! Was looking for this comment.
Aaron will forever have to live with the fact when he comes out of his coma he was more interested in getting high than immediately putting out a police report to find his sister.
I agree with another person on this thread. Aaron drained her bank account because he knew she wouldn’t be around to give him problems about it.
YEP
Exactly!! I just commented same thing!
@@annkatt3 you wouldn't drain the account tho. You would take a couple hundred bucks, not $6000.
@@pocketlinttreasures33 idk man he might have so she wouldn't cancel the card and he would have been cut off from the money and had to be sick again.
You are really beautiful!

Congratulations on your sobriety! Thank you for sharing your story💕
I agree. Addiction is brutal and it dictates everything. Have addicts in my family too.
As an ex addict who knows addicts I can say it's not too far fetched
My ex bf beat me while I was pregnant trying to keep his mom debit card away from him.
@@mariearchambeault145 the issue isn't that they're addicts. the issue is that they were already bad people. i never stole never physically hurt anyone. i know many addicts that were the same. if you do shitty things like that on drugs you'd do it sober

So, if Aaron was in the shower and just yelled to Mandy that he loved her before she left, how does he know what she was wearing so specifically? He didn't just describe her outfit she was wearing for that day, he was pretty specific with the description of her when she had left.
My exact question as soon as she said that!!
The only thing I can think of (other than lying obviously) is that's what he saw before he got in the shower and he assumed it was all still the same when she left.
I thought the same thing
Did they live together? With their parents? Maybe they were both using in the bathroom before he got in the shower?
@@nurse3074 What? He was the one who had a shower, not her. And he was in the shower when she left.
Interested to see peoples theories on that half of it.
maybe he dumped it after going to the atm
Maybe she was unconscious and not dead and he sold her for money in a desperate attempt to both get rid of her and get drugs.

Congrats on your recovery!!
I agree. Also heroin addict and I couldn't even steal from people which is a common practice among addicts. Let alone murder. If you're gonna murder someone, youre just a murderer and a monster with or without drugs.
Preach!!! I just hit a year on 2/25. We DO recover! 💕
I'm so proud of you for making that demon submit and you're strength is phenomenal!
Wait a second, if he was in the shower how does he know what she was wearing and what she had when she left?
Lol, thats exactly what I asked. I also found it strange that he said she left and got into her vehicle and drove away. Again, he said he was in the shower. How can he be so sure she got in the car and left? 🤔
I think its pretty obvious that her brother knows a lot more than he's admitting. I think she confronted him about the money he was stealing from her account and told him she was moving and he had to go find new living arrangements. I think he killed her.
I thought the same!
While hes washing his face i sneak in and turn the hot water valve off and then haul ass 🤣🤣🤣 he secretly loves it... he wont admit it but hed miss me doing it if i died 😆
Edit: wait thats her brother hahaha i thought it was her bf for some stupid reason... ok x the kiss could bye but she might have knocked on door and he stuck his head out or he saw her before he got in shower
Exactly.. I was thinking the same thing. That doesn’t make sense. Unless he was about to get in the shower and saw her walking out of the door.
When Mandy said she didn't want to go back, she knew.
Usually if you call the wrong number of a police station or dispatch area, they can transfer you to the correct one or at least give you the right number. They’re not just going to hang up the phone with you without giving you some direction.
In a perfect world, this would be true. But that has not been my experience with police dispatchers in our area.
@@laurad8035 this is teue for me as well! This absolutely is a possibility in most of our worlds!
It was probably Aaron. Their mom dorsnt want to lose another child. But She deserves to rest in peace. They made their choices....she deserves to at least have her soul rest and go in peace. Same for him. You can get away from human justice but he’ll have bigger problems when his time comes..

Can they search the entire place if they only have consent from one resident? That's always been my understanding.
Scrolled down here for this, good job!
Occam’s Razor - Law of parsimony
I agree.
@@ashy.aquarian indeed
Tbh I think it's super common for people to use both opiates and amphetamines. When they get too low they look for an upper, which could easily overlap withdrawl. So you could get a person desperate for a fix and violently out of reality at the same time. My ex was a tweaker but died from an opiate overdose 🤷♀️
@@khaightlynn ooh, that's true. If someone is in withdrawal and tweaked out, they could definitely lose it.

Very specific details he was able to just see from the shower I reckon.....
yes, I thought about that, unless if it was just conjecture from him seeing her walking around maybe before he got in the shower, but unless he was talking to her at the time, it is kind of a weird thing to yell, or even know she was walking out the door at that moment, unless she was yelling she was leaving?
door open maybe, could’ve looked out, i’d be interested to see what he has to say about how he knew what clothing she was in and items she had
@sarahC87 I had the exact same thought; forgot about it then read your comment. Weird indeed.

Well he had ample time to figure it out if he was storing her body in the room

I can't believe none of the neighbors called the cops when they were arguing.
Yup they could have saved her life..
The neighbors could’ve just been used to it if they had a tendency to argue
Depending on the neighborhood, some people just keep to themselves and don't get involved unfortunately. Especially if arguments are a regular thing. My ex lived in a apartment complex where if someone wasn't outside arguing, it was a strange day or night. When we would call it in, it would be hours before the police would arrive to do a check on it because it was so common.
This happens a lot. People want to keep to themselves or don’t know how bad the argument is so they don’t call the police.
In my neighborhood, someone reported that my husband was screaming at me in the garage when in reality, he was listening to the radio and building shelves. I wasn't even home. So...

I too have a brother who's a heroin addict. It's really difficult for everyone. I understand the feeling of wanting to help but not knowing how
*Excitedly runs to get my own coffee when I see we're doing a coffee and crime again* ☺️
Just home from grocery shopping, it's a blizzard outside now, so time to cozy up with a blanket and crime time ♥️🥶
PERFECT timing! You’re coming with me on my walk. 🥰
I walk with stephanie all the time too. Lol
safe walk!!!
Also, I’m in recovery from a heroin addiction that lasted for years and I definitely agree with everything that your source said. I can totally see how that may have happened.
i am very intrigued by the man with the short term memory loss. it’s just such a unique situation i haven’t seen in any other case before.

It's more likely they fought about him stealing her money and he accidentally or on purpose killed her.
i mean it depends on who he knows. most low level drug dealers don't even know how to sell people. they don't want to do that. its way too hot.
That seems like a Hell of a stretch.
