Thanks for this! Yours is the best youtube channel for BMW servicing, I love your videos, do all my work based on your guidance. I would be really grateful (alongside many other fellow home "mechanics") if you'd explain how to sync the throttle bodies and make the engine idle and run smooth - pleeeease! Best, Daniel

The tdcs on the left and right are 180 degrees opposite. When riding a bike, the arrow on the right cylinder chain gear is the right cylinder tdc, and the black plastic tab indicates the tdc of the left cylinder. And it is more accurate to put an 8mm stick in the hole on the back of the right cylinder to fix it accurately.

You should hold the adjusting screw in place with the allen key while tightening the locking nut, at it can turn the adjusting screw a you tighten the nut and throw the adjustment off. Also you should check and possibly adjust the rocker arm clearance if it is out of spec also. Of you are going to do a job, do it right.

Just saw your video, only a day to late for me. Yesterday I broke one of the bolts in het cilinderhead. It should be tighten to 10Nm instead of 20Nm like a had written (wrong) in the haynes manual. Love your video's! Best regards

I have an 05 R1200ST. I don’t see where to stick the feeler gauges. My valves have a ball & cup set up. Anyone know about this?

Hello, I am hoping you can give me some guidance please: I just bought a 2007 GSA. Well maintained bike, runs great. While riding it home...1200 miles, all of a sudden the Rear lights stopped working (Yellow triangle and the word "Lamps R" in the display. Checked the 2 fuses and connectors under the seats, disconnected all the wires from battery and cleaned them....nothing. 2 hrs later all was back to normal. Then "Lamps F" came on....front lights were out, a bit later all lights didn't work and on the display it said: "Lamps". Called the BMW dealer and the mechanic didn't seem to know, other than telling me to do what I did already. I never seen this on any other bike. Where is the CANBus located on this bike? and where should I look to fix this issue.??? Can't afford the dealer prices. I appreciate any help you can give. I am trying to avoid having to take the bike apart completely to find any faulty wires...if this is what causing this issue. Previous owner said he never had this happened before, I trust him as he seems to be an honorable fellow. Thanks so much.

why didn't you fill the new filter with oil before refitting it ? that's the usual practice on any engine
