    Ok, first of all, I appreciate your channel and your honest nature… 😊 I think that people are way too obsessed with “nutritional snobbery” and should take a chill pill. It’s not what you do on a rare occasion that wrecks you, it’s what you do consistently that makes you healthy. You are super consistent with your fasting and health journey, and I commend you. This video shows that we can get so frustrated with “what and when to eat” that we need to just sometimes relax. You’re a great person, and your channel is great, and I will DOUBLE subscribe to make up for an uptight meanie 😉 ❤️

    Can I just say that I’m so glad you did this video; it really hammered home the fact that the right amount of food is so pleasurable and should be savoured but too much food (even if it is stuff you would normally enjoy) just isn’t fun - better by far to spread the gorgeousness out and fully appreciate each mouthful. I don’t know whether to congratulate you or to commiserate!! I hope you are feeling better now.

    i have been doing 36 hours fasting twice a month as a religious thing. one thing that I have learnt is that after 36 hours it is very important to start refeeding with something light and healthy like vegetable soup or coconut water. Give at least an hour of gap before eating the next food item which should also be vegetables based like stir fried vegetables or soup or roasted vegetables etc before eating a proper meal.

    You are AWESOME....I thought - ohhhh noooo...this is a horrible video to watch while fasting but it turned out to be the best!!! I just felt sicker and sicker for you as you went a long and even though I didn't eat the food - I could feel your pain!! Thanks for doing this video - it really made great points and was very encouraging!!!

    I cant believe how positive and good you seemed to feel all day. After the pie I'd be lethargic, grumpy, and sick. I love the advocacy you're doing to encourage people to stop being afraid of food. I have had an unhealthy relationship with it for too long. Now that I'm IF, it feels so good and I have such a better relationship to food. Also my stomach shrinks so much that I can't eat a lot so I don't even know how you did this! I could tell by dinner that you were breathing harder though. You rock! I hope you felt OK next day.

    Watched this right before my eating window and now I am sure to not binge today! Not feeling bloated or full most of the day is probably the #1 reason I am still at this over two years later. I am actually glad to close my window! Such a crazy mind shift! Still enjoyed the video! Would be fun to figure out what I would choose to eat for such a challenge. Would probably go light on the sugar maybe.

    BRAVO - YOU DID IT! WOW - that culver's burger looks amazing! Thank you Jackie for doing this experiment so I don't have to - I don't even want to TRY it even though in the past, I could DREAM of doing something like this with my sweet tooth, which I am not sure if I even have one any longer! In the past, I would always in the evening be hunting the freezer or cupboard for a sweet and creamy snack to eat. I am on my 25th day of my 28 day clean fast and so far no longer have the desire to have something sweet or even feel hungry in the evening after I have closed my eating window. I have been using my window from 12:30pm and allow for a 6 hour cut off. I rarely make it to the 2 1/2 - 3 hour mark and I am no longer hungry. This IF lifestyle, done correctly, really works!

    This video came at the perfect time for me!! I have been IF for 13 days. Love it!! You are super helpful, too!! I bought Fast, Feast, Repeat. Great book. Your videos have been helping me more than anything!! This is an amazing lifestyle that I would love to stay with forever. I have been on a diet since age 10 when someone told me I was chubby, which I really was not, looking back!!! So happy to be over the diet brain!! Anyway today I ate about 4,000 calories because I just felt so famished!! I went with it and now I will fast until tomorrow - at least 18 hours, but probably will go longer, due to how full I feel. I love the flexibility with this lifestyle!! I feel thinner and have more mental clarity in the short time I have been doing IF. Thank you, Jackie, for your videos!!! They are so very helpful and your children are so CUTE!!!! You are helping me so much!!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!

      I wish my hubby was on this journey with me. It makes it super hard when he’s binging on a huge bowl of ice cream and I’m eating granola and yogurt. I do love it but helloooooo Ice cream is always better 😂 I have amazing will power but we’re still human. I’m so glad you have a partner in crime! Mine keeps going back and forth on it. He’ll do it for a couple days and give up, and that’s maybe once every few months! I work so hard to keep healthy for a long life and he really just looks at it like it’s a ridiculous lifestyle to live. My goal is to keep trying and get him interested. He usually will get on board (at least for a little while) once he sees the weight coming on. He’s just not consistent. I love him more than anything though! Just venting 😮‍💨

    I found this very interesting and can appreciate the effort and planning that went into this, and the message that it shares. It is fascinating to see how much food that was, and how it became difficult to eat it, but ultimately it didn't continue to impact you for long. That's people's fear, is one bad day impacting us forever, but this shows that the effects do wear off. I will remember this next time I eat too late or wake up feeling icky. :)

Cherry Pie? The best! I can't wait to see what's coming. This is so much fun. Thanks! A forty-hiur fast isn't so much. I would probably put a 5000 cal limit on the follow day. Why 10,000 cal today? You should have put two HUGE scoops of vanilla ice cream on your cherry pie. I've been doing OMAD for over a year while exclusively sticking to a vegetarian diet. I allow myself two cheat days at the end of every month. My favorite cheat meal consists of pizza, tortilla chips, and salsa. However, I would love to indulge myself in eating a dozen Krispy Kreem donuts in one sitting. But I keep reading about how sugar is extremely toxic to the human body. So I've given up eating and drinking anything with sugar in it.

    No, I wasn't surprised you did it...but I was just diagnosed at the ER last night with Influenza A. Once you got past the Taco Bell breakfast, I just felt sicker and sicker with every mouthful. Funny how watching someone eat copious amounts of food can make you feel sicker when you are already sick.
    I had Delta in September, and it totally shot my immune system. I catch every little thing going around. 😞

    IDK if you will be able to complete it or not, but I'm watching to see!🧐 🤣 I have ADF as a lifestyle also, and I'm 100% sure I could not complete this challenge mostly because I don't like sweets. I didn't like them before ADF so it's not the fault of ADF it's just the way I am. Wow, you did it!!! I had my doubts at the point of the pizza.🤣
    I don't see why people are so upset by this it's not like it is something you do all the time. Personally, I think it was great to show that it's fine to go off plan sometimes and recovery happens pretty quickly as long as you jump right back on plan afterward. The only thing I would say is to know yourself and be honest. If you think this would totally derail you then you're not ready to try it.

    • @FastingFoodie
      @FastingFoodie  2 года назад +6

      Please don’t be freaked out. This is not at all part of protocol! It’s a well known RUclips challenge I decided to take place in as an extreme depiction of the flexibility of fasting. It felt awful, & I wouldn’t recommend. But I didn’t ruin all the progress I made, my love of fasting or fall off any wagon. People worry what will happen if they go off their fasting schedule, or binge a day, or have a long eating window. This was my ridiculous example of you can have off days but keep going successfully.
