    Thank you so much man. I've been studying like crazy using Khan academy and ASVAB for dummies but these videos help out way more when it comes to math.

    This was the first video I was able to do the math on my own. I'm proud of myself & I have you to give credit for. Thank you so much for these videos. I thought I wasn't actually good at math but it turns out all I needed was someone to help. I'm trying my hardest to learn so that I can get a great score, and I actually believe (for the first time) that will be achievable.

    yo man thank you for these videos, watched these and even if i couldnt complete the entire operation and get the answer I could figure out which one was correct based on what I did know. Ended up with an 84 on the asvab

    Hey man just a question , the problem at 29:50 , why dont we add the two "y´s" in this instance?

    • @GrammarHero
      @GrammarHero  5 лет назад +1

      If it's helpful, you can think of there being a 1 in front of the "y's" in the parentheses, and anything times one is just itself.
      For example:
      (1y * 1y) is 1y^2, not 2y^2.

    Im lost on question 24.
    Could you please explain more in depth the short cut has me lost..
    Thank you so much for making these videos for the most part all of your content has been helping me extremely well

    • @GrammarHero
      @GrammarHero  5 лет назад +1

      To solve the problem without a shortcut, you would just work out 72 divided by 108.
      Since 72/100 = 72%, however, we know the answer will be close to 70%, which means C or D are the only reasonable answer choices.
      When I started working out 72 divided by 108, I asked myself what times 108 will get me closest to 720 without going over.
      108 x 6 = 648
      and
      108 x 7 = 756.
      Since 756 is too big, we know our answer must start with 6.
      In light of that, we conclude that the only possible answer choice is C. 66.6%.
      To do well on the ASVAB, you have to get very comfortable doing long division by hand, including with decimals.
      I hope this helps.

    • @GrammarHero
      @GrammarHero  5 лет назад +1

      Also, you could reduce 72 / 108 to 2/3 by dividing 72 and 108 by a common factor of 12 and 3.
      72 divided by 12 = 6
      108 divided by 12 = 9
      6 divided by 3 = 2
      9 divided by 3 = 3
      2/3 = 66.666666%
      There are multiple ways to solve this problem.

      Parentheses>Exponents>Multiplication>Division>Addition>Subtraction. It’s the order you do all math problems.

  • @taylobabe14
    @taylobabe14 5 лет назад +1

    So basically in order to pass this section on the test you need to know all of your formulas for a square, rectangle, triangle, right triangle, circle, cube, rectangular box, cylinder, pyramid, prism, and a cube?

    • @HAWK45454545
      @HAWK45454545 4 года назад +1

      These are just the easy questions. It gets harder as you get answers right.

  • @josereyes2393

    I’m lost on Number 16! why didn’t you multiply 30 x 12 x 24 x 7 ? Instead you did 30 x 24 x 7 ? What about the 12 ?

    • @GrammarHero
      @GrammarHero  5 лет назад +2

      7 x 6 x 5 x 4 x 3 x 2 x 1 = 7 x 30 x 12 x 2 = 7 x 30 x 24 = 210 x 24 = 5040
      I grouped numbers so the multiplication would be easier, and there is a lot of mental math required to do this problem efficiently and correctly. As you can see, I multiplied 12 x 2 to get 24, which is where the 12 went.

    Is this on the real test? Because i watch and did the whole video and i got half of the answers right

    • @GrammarHero
      @GrammarHero  6 лет назад +1

      I pulled a lot of the questions for the video from ASVAB For Dummies, which covers most of the concepts that will appear on the real test. If you want more practice, you should look at a few of the other videos I posted here: ruclips.net/video/yw6wDoGxF3o/видео.html. Chances are you'll find some practice tests easier than others.
