I think the idyllic and peaceful looks of the lake betray its danger. The water can appear calm and out of nowhere you get waves, rips, strong currents that could pull anybody under and away.

I’m a mom to a 6 year old, and I consider myself a decent swimmer but if I’m swimming with my kid in any body of water higher than my shoulders I’m wearing my vest. Period. R G The boy didn't make it back to the boat by himself. In part of the interview given by the sheriff (or whatever his title is), he mentioned that Naya put her son back in the boat. This was according to her son. He was probably tired and didn't want to swim anymore, so she stayed in the water by herself for a while he rested on the boat.
The simple and most obvious answer is that she jumped into the lake and was pulled under by a underwater current and drowned...but logically, what mother would jump into a lake with no life jacket and leave her 4 year old child unaccompanied on a boat?

One possibility is that the son drove the boat while Naya was in the water swimming. And the boat was too far for her to catch, got exhausted, and drowned.... Again, it's just a possibility... we all know how curious and unpredictable 4 year olds can be....

It must have happened soon after they were out on the lake because the little boy wouldn’t just have fallen asleep after his mommy jumped in and didn’t come back up. Reports are saying that he said she put him on the boat, but she didn't get out. She might have slipped trying to get out and fallen unconscious before she was able to get out. Hopefully they can find her or her body so her family can find peace

Like in a movie where she was pushed to shore woke up but had hit her hit on a rock or something and lost her memory left wondering walking around the lake. But that's the movies it's not possible but it would be a miracle if it did happen that way.

This is heartbreaking but it sounds fishy. I don’t understand how her 4 year old son could swim back to the boat (also coming back up from the water) but a 33 year old couldn’t. I suspect foul play by another person prowling on her while she was at the lake.

One possibility is that the son drove the boat while Naya was in the water swimming. And the boat was too far for her to catch, got exhausted, and drowned....
Again, it's just a possibility... we all know how curious and unpredictable 4 year olds can be....

Reports are saying that he said she put him on the boat, but she didn't get out. She might have slipped trying to get out and fallen unconscious before she was able to get out. Hopefully they can find her or her body so her family can find peace
