Dude you nailed what is without a doubt the most underrated and deceptively hard solo in rock freakin history. To those who say it’s too long I say it’s not long enough. Well done. Rock on!
Tailhook MD Dude ! Thanks for watching this, I totally feel the same way, really appreciate the time you took to make this comment, let me know if you have any other solos in mind that you think I can perform 👌👍👍👍
Cris Arriagada Sorry just saw this reply. Honestly this is my favorite solo ever. Love Steve lukather of the Tubes and Toto. Keith Scott (Bryan Adams). Jeff Carlisi 38 special. I guess like the finesse guys. Keep rockin!!
I'm seriously pissed off at Capitol records. They put out a single that cut out more than half of the solo. I'm 75 and didn't buy the album and never heard this solo until 2022. I've probably listened to it 100 times this week, virtually every RUclips video of the Knack just so I can hear this solo. I even know to advance to the three minute mark when it starts. Now I see your version of it and I have to say fantastic job! I figure Berton Averre played it 10,000 times and of course could play it in his sleep while you had to learn it and then had the nerve to put it out there for people to see. Superb! Thank you so much for posting a video where I could really watch the technique. I think I'm done with My Sharona now 😂.
Holy sht Batman you freaking nailed it , left me in tears from the 70s . One of favorite guitar solos . You took me back there . Every note perfectly played . Thank you
I am a guitar and no way could I ever get to that professional level you just demonstrated. That was 100% awesome. So well done. Thank You so very much.
Great job man. I remember that song well when it came out. I think they shortened the solo for radio, but this version is one of the best solos in rock history...well done.
This is the best ever rock solo hands down my number one anyway a teacher that wrote a song about one of his students ended up marrying her in the long run
Dude, the sheer joy and exuberance in your playing gave me fucking chills and a smile on my face. I always thought that this song was kind of maligned by many as a kind of dumb new wave song but it was catchy and seriously had a killer killer- and you killed it, thanks for sharing.
Mind blowing. I've seen plenty of guys who can play the fast stuff but you absolutely nailed the vibrato and bending, which is hard to do what makes this solo so great. Hats off, monster performance. Your vibrato is as good as I've seen and heard on one of these videos. Best version on you tube.
@@-8h- The solo uses a warm pickup throughout, but when he switches it down at the end it adds treble and removes bass, emphasizing the overdrive tone of rock n' roll, it really adds a lot to the climax
Wow. Awesome job dude. You played it a little differently than most (including Berton ) in places (I’ve been studying this solo this week. ), but who cares because you ripped it up! This is my obsession for the coming week. I must play this solo perfectly. It’s my life’s mission now. 😀😎
@@chrisaria I understand ..., Like that without thinking ,as the rythm guitar on that solo reminds me the riff of "Sweer Jane", may be you could do the solo played by Steve Hunter on "Rock 'n roll Animal" or the one played on "Rock and roll " from the same live or still on the same album the solo played alternativly by Hunter"and "Dick Wagner at the end of "Oh Jim " ... Take care ,stay safe . : )
YOU KILLED IT! My Sharona without a doubt has one of the most underrated guitar solo’s ever
Couldn't agree more....been sayin that for years!
The Knack's first album is LOADED with killer lead guitar, of course My Sharona is probably the best example.
the best one for me.
Probably cause when people hear it in the radio, about two-thirds of it is cut out.
My favorite solo ever. I hate how FM radio stations cut out two-thirds of it.
Yeah bro, I think it's totally underrated lol
It should be a criminal offence to cut that solo
Same here bro only heard the complete solo on my dads mixtape
Zaclky.

"To those who say it’s too long I say it’s not long enough. " +100. Can't remember how many times I've rewound the song just to hear the solo again.
One of the most underrated leads ! And Bruce Gary on the drums with his 70s surfer style and the use of flams in this song was brilliant..
thanks for watching and taking the time to comment ;)
Cris Arriagada one of the best lead covers of this song that I've watched, it was worth watching ,I think I'm on my 10th time since I found the vid.
Standing "O"! That was a solid cover of a very underrated and difficult solo! ...guess I'll go list my guitar on eBay now

I love this solo and you killed it!
Beautifully done! It's an incredible solo with some really fun guitar licks but the trick to it all is in the ..... timing!
All over that neck bruddah!! A stellar cover of a mammoth solo. The radio edit that cuts it off midway should be a war crime. Keep shredding.
Great job, congrat! My fav guitar solo!!!
Great job man. I remember that song well when it came out. I think they shortened the solo for radio, but this version is one of the best solos in rock history...well done.
Mark M thanks brother
The moment I heard this song when I was a kid I already love it until now. this solo is really magical to me.
Wow! So good.
This is the best ever rock solo hands down my number one anyway a teacher that wrote a song about one of his students ended up marrying her in the long run

1:12 when it goes double time, I can’t help jumping out of my seat whenever I play this on my bass. Great cover dude!!

Amazing Job man, this should have so many more views
