@@CaptainStevenMarkovich captain on 31:55 that american 737 max was taking off the wrong way to going to miami not the right way takeoff now it would take that american a little bit to get there because of that wrong takeoff direction 😃
My dad was a crew chief on the KC135 with the 134th Air Refueling Group in Knoxville up until he passed in 1990. I miss going with him down there, he loved flying but has made his last flight to his eternal home far above the stars.
We moved to Knoxville proper last year after living in the Secret City most of my life. I started seeing lots of medical helicopters and tankers and other planes flying over. People are mystified as to why I have taken up plane spotting. But you have summed it right up when describing that tanker. The fleet usually goes by SODA which I think is very clever. Especially with Elvis the C17 flying from Memphis to refuel on a regular basis. And when these things low fly over the house, I am always impressed. Also your description of those Dassault Falcons is right on. They are impressively loud. 👍
Holy Cow Captain I just watched a biography about the KC-135 Stratotanker it's an absolute favorite of mine because I loved the 707 which is similar what a fantastic aircraft it's even older than I am
I’m about15 miles east of tpa. I use flightradar24 and track and follow everything “spotting”. I’m inside the pattern for the KCs out of Mcdill. It never gets old watching them. Now with the volume in at out of Lakeland (Amazon) it’s been a blast with 737s and 76x. They fly on low and fast. Usually at around 1800 feet or so where I’m at. Also set an alert for the British Air flight to London out of tpa….flys over my area and I love listening and watching it. Thanks for doing this! Awesome for fellow local spotters like me.
A few decades ago,,,,, I got to fly in a KC 135E from Topeka, KS to southern New Mexico and we refueled two B-1 Bombers then came back to Topeka. We got to lay down beside the "boom" man and watched them refuel. On take off I got to be in the jump seat in the cockpit. The KC tanker is one of the best!
I was a KC-135 Boom Operator from 1979-1986 and I probably flown on it before the reengining. I couldn't read the tail number. In 1983, my crew was the first operational crew on the KC-135R when i was based at McConnell AFB in Wichita KS. This aircraft could have been doing depot maintenance at TIA. ...as we say in the boom field when we were done refueling, "Boom Stowed, leaving position."

The KC was nice! When I worked at TIA in the 80's I saw (they called it a Guppy) cargo transport. The whole front of the nose flipped up to unload kinda like the globemaster. Another day we loaded a 707 cargo with show horses, cargo and 30 or so caretakers going to Sweden for a horse show. The captain said he was overloaded by10,000lbs but he signed off to take responsibility if anything happened. He taxied to the end of the runway by Hillsbourgh ave, reversed thrusted to the edge pointing south then gunned it! Very slow start we all thought it would not take off. Finally with a few feet left down by Eisenhower he rotated! Our supervisor was down there and said he barely missed the lights on the end of the runway. From our angle he was just above the tree line south of Eisenhower blvd! We all thought for sure it would not make it but she did....... if we didn't take off some of the cargo before we pushed it back I would've crashed for sure. I do miss the smell of jet A burning on that job
Another great video with the added surprise of the KC-135. Did you notice no thrust reverses. Only the E models had them and they've been gone since 09. Yours is my absolute favorite channel!
Great job Cap. Hope you had a very Blessed Thanksgivings. If you notice, when you get older the years go by faster. That Jetblue Boston Celtic livery had, basketball players, managers, agents, and wantabes on it. 😁 Great to hear you have cross the 9,000 mark. Just another enjoyable watch. Thank you. God Bless.

Don't ya hate it when the volume mysteriously gets turned down! 😁 The tower controllers wants to get more airtime on your channel with his voice inflection, though it does tend to give the sense of a bit of humor on his part, but nothing like the humor of the Captain! yet again you're on your game, nailed it. With that 20 MIT you can keep airplanes moving with creative taxi routes and keeps passengers happy as they are not sitting still for 10 minutes or more. The FAA needs you in flow control. In the little known yet useless information, you can call the C550 a "slowtation" as it is a stone in the river though with that huge landing roll-out one might think not so much, but oh so true.
Hey Steve , Another great video. I have a question.. Do you have any idea about an aircraft that might be similar to this one its the same grey color, but underneath is like a yellow stripe or something...and it has a weird sat or something on the tail section. I see it flying often in the sky around the tampa area.. It has 4 jets as well similiar to this.

A KC-135 almost flipped me and my little C152 over when I was taxing out for my solo long cross country. Just happily headed down the taxiway and BAM I was weather-vaning and all over the place then just as suddenly as it started it was over. I was shaking from adrenaline and dumbfounded then in the distance I saw a KC135 slowly taxing away engines pointed where I was. That was at Salt Lake Intl. just before 9/11. Good times lol

In the middle 1970's I watched a flight of F4 phantoms launch from HNL for the mainland using runway 8. 8R (reef runway) hadn’t been built yet. First in line was a KC 135 followed by a phantom, then another KC 135. The tankers looked like they raised their landing feat to avoid snagging perimeter fence. 5 tankers launched to escort 4 phantoms across the pond.
