I managed to snag a few of the orange ones first time around. Even though there are a number of Walmart stores in our area, I never even saw the gen 2 or the white one. Still keeping an eye out.😄👍🏻
The newly purchased D2 in the old style is likely "new" old stock that either got hung up in transit to the US or in a stateside distribution center and got sent out to your store because they have the same upc as the newer version. I have a feeling the "old" ones will be trickling out for months.
$3 is pretty cheap. But I don't think Ozark knives are cheap. I just think the other knife brands are too expensive. A pocket knife should NOT cost more than a price of average pair of pants, shoes, or shirt. These knife makers that are charging $200 to $2000 are ripping people off unless they are custom makers who hand forge their steel.
So I have a couple of the first run.. and one of the “new” versions or so I thought lol, last week I stopped at my local store and checked to see if they had any more and they had both versions! So I took a couple more home they’ll probably be Christmas presents. I’ll have look close and see which ones do or do not have d2 printed on the blade. Knowing a little about Walmart being I live in the homeland area for big blue.. could have had a container of the first version that showed up with the newer version mixed in. The maker probably used up all the prior parts and just sent a mixed load. Or! Original vendor couldn’t keep up and they found a second supplier.. idk who knows I did reach out to some people I know that work for Walmart, I’m curious to see if I can find the “story” behind the Ozark knives and who came up with the money making benchmart knife idea..
Box cutter without razor blades is more than $3. If you think of it as a reusable box cutter that you can sharpen after a days work, it maybe better than using a box cutter. These are the types of knives warehouse, factory, retail, workers use to open boxes and cut tags off. You know...REAL work not some fancy $500 knife that never gets used except as a fidget toy. :0) And if you have a knife maker or knife consumer poor shame people, they are FAKE NEWS because real people who do real work can't really afford to spend $500 on a pocket knife. So in that way, I can't hate China.
In this video, Ozark Trail's $3.00 knife is mentioned. I just got a NEW Old D2 knife. How do I use a zipper pull for a lanyard?
I thought the Ozark trail ridge has an SR suntour with 100mm of travel😂
Cool..

Yep. It’s not bad for $3.00 and it does loosen up a little. I bought a couple more. 😉

I bet they had no idea how popular these became. 😆
