The little red light is autofocus assist for dark environments. If there isn’t enough light for the camera to “see” contrast, it can’t autofocus. This is handy at times, but not for photography of people because it blasts them in the face with red lights. TTL stands for through the lens. It’s a kind of automatic mode where the camera and the flash work together to determine the correct amount of flash light for a photo. It is good for photography in changing environments, but isn’t always perfect.
Thank you for your video. I can see the work that went into it, and frankly I appreciate your honesty, your no frills approach to explaining everything, and your own approachability in general. I just got the same flash, and this is the best video I've seen on it.
Your welcome!!! How are you liking the flash so far? I had a hard time at first but I bought some triggers for off camera flash and it helped out a lot.
Bro I did swipe my mom's the batteries for this🤦♀🤣 Literally just got it today and looking for videos on how to use it. Liked your video and vibe. Thanks for the content. I like the sock on the mic #smart
Hi! I recently got a Sunpak Df4000u flash and I was trying to put in the diffuser the white piece on the flash that comes with it but it just doesn’t seem to be able to get in and it’s the one the came with the flash…any help would be appreciated…thanks!
One thing I have been searching RUclips for about this flash is how to turn off the sound. The beep that comes with every shot is so loud especially in a quiet setting. I can not figure out how to turn it off.
I’ll be honest, I haven’t used it since I got it. I started working with this really great photographer who uses Godox flash systems with wireless triggers. So that was the last time I used this.

Lol… yeah, I got a new sock on that mic but I also have new mics so I barely use it.

This is a great flash for a great price, highly recommend
I agree. Using triggers and bouncing the light has been a game changer as well. Especially with product photography.
Can u connect this wirelessly??? Been trying with the canon m50 it wont work??
To wirelessly connect it, you need to get wireless flash triggers.
@@SnackyPOO oh okk thanks
TTL Means through the lense my guy 🤘🏽
Learn something everyday!!! Thank you!
Is it good for night street photography?
It can be, but I would suggest using it off camera with triggers.
@@Bthefilmer so you mean not attach to the top of the camera?
@@CuriousGeorgePhotos exactly.
Great video, very detailed. Did you ever find out what the red light is for?
Actually have not used the flash at all lately. But I did look into it and it helps your camera autofocus in low light situations.
@@Bthefilmer thanks. Was just thinking it’ll probably be annoying to have that red light light blinking in the dark
How does the flash stay on in video mode
It’s not meant to be like an LED light if that’s what your talking about.
Through the lens TTL
thrrought the lens
Whole lot talking about nothing .
Glad you enjoyed it.
There was nothing helpful in that video
