Glad you're trying this out! As a Crypt of the Necrodancer veteran (what this game is based off), my best advice is to slow down and observe the enemies. Just like Hollow Knight, this game punishes rushing or impulsiveness. If you slow down and learn enemy patterns, it's still tough but not this punishing.

I want HIM to see the ditch and drive in HIMSELF, that's content!
You keep moving directly towards enemies while they're moving towards you. Meaning that they attack you. Start jumping to the side instead of into them unless you have a weapon with long range
Just hit them without getting hit

I feel like this is just a rhythm game but you actually get to decide which buttons you press instead of the game dictating it for you
So since you haven't played Crypt of the NecroDancer, most enemies take one action every two beats, and in most cases, if you attempt to touch an enemy on the same beat they touch you, _their attack wins._ To beat an enemy you have to identify their pattern and time your movements accordingly to strike them during their idle turn only, then immediately step out of the way before they take their next action.
Also, the layout of the World Map is randomized differently at the start of each playthrough.
For anyone that has not played the game before, you get to choose if you play as link or zelda

YOOOOO I love this game, it's like Quin can read my mind of what games I love, I swear like 8/10 series Quin makes are games I've played and loved (ESPECIALLY for indie games)

@@QuinBoBin I recomend doki doki literature club, but I warn you that It will be painfull, really painfull
Quick six tips!
1. All enemys have a pattern, so I recommend observing them for a while.
2. Items are completely randomized in shops, so if you don’t see something, save your diamonds.
3. You don’t have to defeat enemys to activate a guidance stone, so if you wanna just run in, you can
4. Items aren’t only found in shops. Some, like the rings and weapons, can be found in the world in bushes/dirt, or dropped by enemys, so look around before buying.
5. Each area has a different rhythm, so take time to get adjusted and study it for each area.
6. The world map is randomly generated for each file, with only a few constants, so walkthroughs may be inaccurate. You have to explore yourself.
This is possibly one of the most obscure Zelda games, and it’s an Indie game so I’m glad you can play it. The original, which is more of a rougelike with the same controls, is also on switch if you want a game to play on your own, try it out! (It’s ok to play on your own, it’s more of a for fun game than a content making game, so just enjoy it)

so glad you're bringing attention to this game, it's so good, the soundtrack is bangin and the map is somewhat procedurally generated which actually adds a lot of replay value.

This reminds me a bit of Link to the Past aesthetically, but if LTTP had been a rhythm game I would have yeeted it into the sun.

They are tied for the best Zelda game alongside breath of the wild, (it’s kinda debatable what is better out of the 3) so you should totally play them

You're 100% right Quin, many Zelda games start with Link asleep for some reason, maybe even most Zelda games. I don't know why, but I love that it's relatable.

I am playing The Legend of Zelda Wind Waker right now and I totally recommend! Since the HD remake was only on Wii U most people haven’t played it which is unfortunate because it is a gem. I bought it for Wii U but both the Wii U and the game is collecting dust in a box somewhere so I am running it on an emulator and it’s a blast. I really wish Nintendo would bring over more of their old Zelda and Mario games because it’s a shame most people won’t have access to play them.

You should really buy some permanent weapons from the shop beyond life. Also theres a nice peaceful village you probably should go to.

I think I read somewhere that Link always being asleep at the start of the game is meant to show him awakening as a new hero as soon as the story begins, whereas before he was just a lazy average dude like a farmer or something. Skyward Sword does a good job at showing his awakening as a hero when he starts having dreams about Zelda and the Imprisoned.

Ah yes, hippedy-hoppedy rythm Zelda. I play this on and off too. Little fun fact, you can play as Impa (if you get the DLC). Also, those wizard guys are your favourite enemies, the Wizrobes who brought you so much joy in the Links Awakening remake.

Fun fact: Link starts almost every Zelda game asleep/unconscious; It's a recurring thing in the serie. Just like the fact that you don't hit cuccos.
