    Cheers, guys! I love this vid, it was very well researched and presented. I'm Lebanese and yeah, the country is full of great contrast, historic elements fused together. Even our looks are mixed as you can probably see. As an eastern Mediterranean country, many of us are tan skin, some of us are white with blonde hair and colored eyes and so forth. It's a shame what happened to Lebanon after the civil war, but our spirited livelihood was never stolen. That'll always be there.

    Hi Lee and Lucy, I’m British and I lived for a while in Lebanon for work. Next time you are around, visit Byblos and Batroun to enjoy its beaches, great seafood, wineries and ancient beauty. Beirut is more for clubbing and nightlife. Hope you had an enjoyable time!

      @@leeandlucytravel totally did😎💪🏻🥂...by d way I noticed u mentioned some other places in Lebanon... don't miss jeita grotto at jounieh.... as well as Baalbek temples and quarry...and if ur heading to the mountains... There's the small cedars of god forest but very majestic and 3 other significantly larger cedar forests one at tannourin just after the Jurassic natural suspended bridges with a cascade at balaa gorge...one at barouk and the third in d north at ihden....not to forget the faraya ski resort that u already mentioned...as well as arz ski resort just near the cedars of god which is near to...la jeteé ..a cool overlooking point on top of the kadisha valley at becharré....
      Finally u shouldn't miss Byblos and Batroun...😅🌲🏞️☃️❄️🏔️🎯🍳 Hope I wasn't so long but these all are super cool places and don't need too much time to surf them all.... 😅😅😅🥂🥂🥂 Cheers...

    I really enjoyed the video which I watched in full. I was born & raised in Lebanon. Currently living in France. I was wondering why downtime Beirut looks deserted even though it was rebuilt after the civil war ! My friendly advice for you is to go for a ride on a speedboat or why not a fishing trip especially that the exchange rate is in your favour. Do also enjoy mountain resorts next summer or winter. Thank you for dropping by and investing your time & money. You did a WONDERFUL job showing what lebanese food tastes and looks like - Cheers !

    Hey guys! I am Lebanese, and I love watching people from all around the world get to see and fall in love with my country❤. I am still not done watching the video but I just wanted to point out some misconceptions:
    1. The serail area (government building) is surrounded by barb wire because of the revolution that we had back in 2019-2020; it wasnt always like this.
    2. The beirut souks were booming up until the lira devaluation that started in 2019 (more than half the lebanese population was not able to afford going shopping there), and you stated that the destroyed shops are destroyed because of the civil war (the lebanese civil war ended a looong time ago, before this souk was even founded). Those destroyed shops are because of the August 4 explosion that shook the whole area back in 2020, and the people didn't have the government's support to rebuild, so they just left everything.
    3. The mohammad al amin mosque was founded by the late prime minister rafic hariri who was martyred on valentines day 2005. That is why he was buried there.

    • @racharamadan6141
      @racharamadan6141 6 месяцев назад +1

      4. The area that you walked to get to the restaurant: le chef, is the area that was most affected by the port blast on 4 august 2020 and again, no government funds were given to help restore anything so whatever is rebuilt, is because of the lebanese people's efforts (foreigners as well). Fun fact: le chef was immensely damaged by the blast and it was only renovated because of the contribution of the actor Russel Crowe, as he loves this restaurant and visits it whenever he comes to lebanon.

      Hello thank you so much for taking to time to watch and write some awesome comments, apologies I didn’t realised I’d said the would were damaged in the war, I’m aware the damage was done from the port blast, my bad!!
      Le chef was great, they actually have an article about Russell on the wall in there, we totally loved Lebanon and will be back soon for sure. Take care

    Wonderful video and it’s definitely my kind of city , I love buildings new and old plus we also love a beer or 2 your very similar to us . Can’t wait to visit , I guess from what I’ve read is exchange money on the black market rate in the city itself , some say bring US dollars as easier than using pound Sterling . Cheers guys subscribed and so glad I came across your channel . Ps we won’t stop visiting so called no go countires lol more chance of getting into trouble walking down Watford high street on a Saturday night and I’m not joking thanks again and hope I didn’t bother you to much cheers 👍 it’s nice to be able to talk to people who get it instead of eyebrows raised as if myself and wife are stupid lol

      It’s totally fine, happy to chat about travel, beer at any point. We took dollars and changed at a local place 1,000,000 = 100 usd although it changes rapidly. Not been to Watford for many many years. People don’t get it!! As you say it’s easy to go to turkey all inclusive for a week every year, it’s a big world out there my friend

      Once in from work I’ll watch this , just a little story to tell if ok . We’re 52 and about 5 years ago we were in Portugal lying on a sunbed by a pool which isn’t massively us but we also like down time because of work . My wife looked at me and said you ok ? I said is this it is it untill we die the same boring routine of visiting places we supposedly should visit according to the lying media . So that was it , first different country Lithuania followed by Albania north Macedonia, 2 visits to kosovo and more trips planned , honestly our lives have changed almost like we’ve been born again , we have smiles on our faces and met the most amazing cultures people food etc etc , Lebanon is high up along with Syria and Iraq , my own family laugh at us but you know what it’s the greatest decision we ever made , next trip Bosnia 🇧🇦 . Ps let them laugh 😂

      We did the same 8 years ago, looking at a beach holiday in Cuba, ended up booking a flight to Thailand. A year later we quit our jobs to travel, 10 countries later we came back, I landed a job in Qatar and it’s a great base to see something different. Don’t stop doing what you’re doing guys
