I never played TFU, and to be honest I don't care for it. However, I am satisfied that my favorite character from a game I have played has become Canon. And that character is REVAN.
Star killer is easily one of the if not the most powerful force user and insane duelist let’s not forget he made Vader’s force choke look ten times better when he choked like 100 stormtroopers at once than turned them into dust
Starkiller acting as the main bad guy of Fallen Order 2 would be intense. And you could have it be a thing where Vader selected him specifically in the hopes that you two kill each other, as he fears Galen is growing a bit too strong in the Dark Side and may become a legitimate threat.
If you want to get technical, Kanan is technically a canon version of him. Both were blind drunks who distrusted clones, became blind because of the actions of sam witwer, and were integral to begining the rebellion.
That wouldn't be bringing him "back to canon" he still is part of the canon he appeared in, that would be introducing him to the new one. And it wouldn't be really him, just a guy with his looks and name, like they did with Thrawn. Master Rham is doing fine, why don't you enjoy him as he is? Do you really think that if something isn't part of the Disney canon, it isn't worth your time?
There are absurd things forced into Canon (not all of came from Legends), and by comparison, Starkiller can be incorporated more naturally than people give him credit for.
@@jmgonzales7701 He is powerful, but not extremely overpowered. At least, not anymore. I just got done watching EP 7, 8, and 9 again with fresh eyes. Both Rey and Ben Solo were extremely overpowered compared to Jedi and Sith in 1 though 6. And if you look at the Sith of the Old Republic (Revan, the Sith Eternal, and most likely Malak. Now cannon), as portrayed in the games they out match anything Palpatine could do. And look at Vader at the end of Rogue One. That was very much a call back to the Force Unleashed game. I personally think it would be very possible to bring Galen into the fold. Disney is slowly inching its way to the Force being that powerful. And I would point out that the game's whole point is kicking ass with the force. That was the point of the game. But if you read the books, Galen is not nearly as powerful as he is shown in the game. And I think that is important. If LucasArts uses the books as a basis of Galen's power, it will be far more effective. Something Sam Witwer (voice of Starkiller) said was Galen almost made it into Rebels. Mr. Witwer also said that if you look at the animated series (cannon), Ahsoka is extremely quick... quicker than any other Jedi save maybe Yoda. That is due to the fact that it is animation. In live action, Ahsoka is not going to be that quick. In animation or live action, Galen is not going to be as powerful as he was portrayed in the games.
I see Galen roughly as "one of the more-likely of the unlikely characters to return" Not likely but also not impossible. My best bet? Elements of Galen Marek will become an antagonist in the Fallen Order series
Honestly, I've always been of the opinion that much of Galen Marek's story could be adapted into Canon without needing to change much of the details. He was Darth Vader's Secret apprentice, afterall. So his existence and everything he was involved in would be about as 'top secret' and 'off the books' as you could get in the Empire. I'd be willing to bet that not even the Inquisitors would know of his existence. Would he be as OP with the Force as he was in the games? Probably not. Much of that was exaggerated for the sake of gameplay. However, as Galen Marek is supposed to be the child of two Jedi as well as being pushed to and beyond his limits and experimented on by Vader, I think there's a lot you could do with that in Canon.
i wish we got force unleashed 3, cause 2 was kind off a cliffhanger, and his story didnt really have an ending on the is he a clone or not, vader being captured and boba following him and i fully expected starkiller to either retire or die in 3 back when they were making it
@@eduardosotelo8446 The coolest thing about Force Unleashed was the alternate skins and the "What if" style of dlc. It came out way too late to be a good hack and slash and the way Vader was handled in the game was atrocious. As opposed to fallen order which took A LOT from Sekiro and the soulsbourne games, and handled the lore and existing characters like Vader extremely well. But we can have differing opinions and both still be right.
@@everythingdibs344 These are the same fans that would claim rian johnson hates star wars, because he made an episode they didn't like. Like guys, anybody that listens to rian talk about star wars for 5 minutes will see a true passionate fan. I also have my issues with episodes 1 and 2, but you don't see me saying that George Lucas hates Star Wars.
@@w00ds98 why do you automatically assume Sam witwer fans are Rian Johnson haters. It’s toxic fans like you that incorrectly label fans as haters when you don’t know what they like and automatically generalize them all as the same when it’s only a minority that is actually like this. The problem is the minority is the most vocal. Also what’s wrong with disliking the last Jedi? I like knives out and the episodes of breaking bad Rian directed, I don’t hate him, I just dislike one of his projects.
@@everythingdibs344 Hey Buddy I think you misunderstood me there. I meant people who would hypothetically be mad about them „ruining“ starkiller, if they brought him back into canon. I was basically saying toxic fans will be toxic about whatever, even about huge star wars fans like Rian and Sam. I wasn‘t saying Sam Witwer Fans hate Rian Johnson. Wouldn‘t make sense since I like both. Sam Witwer is am amazing actor and an even greater voiceactor. And I‘m saying this as somebody who adores TLJ. I‘m aware Sam dislikes it, but that don‘t take away his cred as an amazingly passionate Star Wars Fan :)
@@w00ds98 I understand what you mean. Also the main reason lots of people accuse Rian of that is for multiple reasons but mainly it was that he and JJ both said multiple times that they don’t like the prequels in a time when prequel fandom was at its peak and changing Luke from the optimistic character that he once was to someone with no self control and no hope, sure he has a redemption later on but there was no reason to have one in the first place. Also he created plot holes like why would like Luke leave a map behind if he didn’t want to be found. I do really like what he did with Kylo Ren but I don’t like that it came at the cost of other characters like Luke and snoke. I also liked that he made Rey’s parents nobody but then JJ decided to clumsily change that. I still respect all non toxic sequel fans because at the end of the day we’re all Star Wars fans.
If nothing else, I hope some of the costume designs from Force Unleashed 1 and 2 get incorporated into Canon at some point. Eg: The Jedi Adventure Robe (final mission), Ceremonial Robe (Light Side ending unlock), Jedi Hunter (Battle of Endor DLC) and any variation on the Sith Stalker Armour.
Maybe Jedi - Fallen Order 2 could let you play both as Cal and as Galen, similar to the Episode Hero (Cal) and Episode Dark (Galen) campaigns from Sonic Adventure 2, or the various character swaps in the Batman: Arkham sequels. The final showdown with Vader and Sideous will, in turn, either allow either one player to swap between each character, or play at home with a friend to allow for both characters to be controlled simultaniously.
Here's a twist: In Fallen Order II, you play as "Starkiller" (under the title of Eleventh Brother). We get flashbacks that highlight how tragic Galen Marek's backstory is, we acquire a number of dark side abilites while we hunt Jedi survivors and ultimately hunt down Cal Kestis and his crew, until Galen eventually turns to the light and allies himself with Kestis, joining his crew in their fight against the Empire. Fallen Order III could then have us play as both characters.
Love this idea, but one change. I don’t understand why no one has ever picked up on this, but the inquisitors naming convention follows a pattern. Where it alternates gender except for the dead middle being the fifth and sixth slots. Very likely the red skinned inquisitor female that was never named was the 11th sister. Which means that our dear seecret apprentice could be the 12th brother.
I think Starkiller would work better as an antagonist that you really get to know over the course of the game. He’s basically the same age as Cal Kestis and they could be excellent foils to each other. Perhaps they could incorporate part of each other’s move sets as the game goes on, so you get some dark side abilities as you want, but the heel-face turn takes place from Cal’s point of view. I don’t think changing protagonist would be a good idea for the sequel.
I feel like if he was brought back, it would’ve been in Rebels or another comic as an inquisitor. But there are still some missing inquisitor numbers, so it could still work!
I loved how Starkiller fit into the story in TFU. He's among my all time favorite characters and I really appreciated his sacrifice at the end. I hope if they bring him back, he can maintain his significance and story arc
Somehow you made me think "What if he is the Inquisitor that Maul killed and stole the lightsaber he uses in Rebels from?", just thinking about the meta layers with Sam Witwer there.
This issue is why I always caution people who want to see characters like Mara Jade return. Thrawn was beloved because of his personality and abilities, not his specific feats and stories. Similarly, something like Abeloth would be fairly easy to transfer into Canon because her abilities and nature are what is important, not the precise circumstances around her Legends stories. For other Legends characters like Mara Jade (and to a lesser extent Galen Marek), the context they lived in was as important to their fan support as the character themselves, and that makes them extremely hard to reproduce in a new continuity. With Galen, it does seem particularly hard to fit him as "Vader's secret apprentice" into Canon, given how extensively the comics have shown Vader's career, UNLESS it was like ~8 years after Revenge of the Sith - after the post-RotS comics end, but before the ANH build-up stories really begin.
I wish he was, his family crest being the symbol for the republic is a million times better than the canon origins of it, as much as I love Saw Guerrera
You could say he was the Star Wars version of the winter soldier. The empire had him around to complete missions, but he was unstable so he wasn’t used much.
I loved Cal's Inquisitor suit so much, it got me thinking about how cool an alternate campaign would be where you start as an Inquisitor and gradually return to the light side. Galen Marek would slot into that idea of mine so neatly, as someone who starts as an enemy but is called back to the light.
I didn't even consider him coming back as an inquisitor! I don't want to get my hopes up, but Fallen Order 2 would be an awesome place to have him come back. Part of me wants to see him redeemed too, but even if he remains a villain, I'd be down. Anything for more Sam Witwer.
Idk if this would be better answered in a Q and A, but could the Inquisitors and the Empire Hands coexist? I feel like that would be a LOT of sith-like people running around, but having some sort of elite team that answer directly to Palpatine would make a great path for Galen Marek.
@@CyberController- Or anyone at all maybe, especially in the outer rim and backwater planets where there isn't any proper acess to the history of the universe
I feel like Starkiller could be a cool villain in the Ahsoka show with the two apprentices of Vader fighting. Or we could maybe get him as an inquisitor in Fallen Order 2
Starkiller as an Inquisitor could definitely work if they want to make the character canon. Next to Darth Maul, Galen Marek was one of my favorite siths in Star Wars.
I like the idea in my head where he isn't a part of the Empire, and is a sith that just appeared out of nowhere (though that could obviously be explained, I'm just trying to keep a blank slate haha) and he could be hunting Jedi, without the Empire knowing (for a while at least). It would make things more interesting and it would more unique than just another inquisitor, and the mystery of where he came from could be compelling (if it's not handled like a certain gold robed disfigured being *coughs loudly* Snoke
@@StarNameKev no, this was a "sith holocron" (temporary power-up that lasts for around 15-20s). However, you could still spam force push, just would eventually run out of energy for like 2-3 seconds.
I think if they bring him back they could at least keep the secret apprentice thing, even if how they'd go about it would be different. Having him as just another Inquisitor feels a bit too understated, I mean we couldn't even call him Starkiller if he's one. :P
Imagine starkiller and Ashoka meet, that would be great for them to teach luke both the light and the dark side of the force. If they execute that moment great
I agree that he should come back in video game/books entirely. Maybe a cameo in a show or comic wouldnt hurt. But I like the thought of bringing him in as the main character or the main villain to something, like mentioned Fallen Order 2.
Honestly I dont know how much would really need to change to just slot the original games in as Canon. Vader having a secret apprentice we havnt seen yet makes sense, it makes sense why he would want to keep Starkiller as secret as possible. In the first level of TFU he literally orders you to kill every stormtrooper you come across so your existence remains a secret.
Mara Jade should definitily come back to Canon. She would be a former imperial guard or emperor's hand. She and Luke would have a rocky start, but they would work together and eventually, have a relationship. But why they never had a child? Maybe they didn't because the emperor required the guards/hands to be sterilized, so they would never have compassion and other allegiance (kinda similar to black widow). Maybe they did, and Mara and him/her died along side the other students of Luke's either before or during Ben's fall. Either way, she could have helped Luke in a number of things, they could have built together a super holocron that posses the knowledge of all others, and was hidden. Maybe she died in a fight to prevent that snoke took Force sensitive beings and brainwash them into darkside slave warriors. Both these holocron and force sensitives would have been taken into hiding by those 3 jedi we saw in the rise of Kylo Ren comic by order of Luke, Leia and Mara, and would eventually be found out by Rey. So, from a certain point of view, the skywalker twins and Mara would still be responsible for the rebuilding of the Jedi order, by setting the foundations for Rey and Finn to develop them.
I think in new canon she could have a romance with Luke, but like many relationships it just doesn't work out forever. Or they could just have her story be a even more different and leave out the romance with Luke.
He could become a failed Inquisitor who defected and died averting an early version of the Final Order, but during the Empire (a colossal fleet of Planet-Killing Star Destroyers).
I think it'd be cool if they brought him into the second fallen order game as someone sent after Cal directly by Vader that way they can still have the point of him being someone who is directly under Vader. Could be a cool way to weave him into it maybe even use something similar to the movies with Rey and Kylo were Cal and Garen get to see each others memories (opportunity to rework any of the story for Garen they want and show it to players) which could end with a battle between the two that could go either way with Cal killing Garen (later brought back as Starkiller) or Garen turning to the light side and helping Cal restore the jedi. Just a idea in my head but sounds cool to me.
I think these ideas could work! And maybe he was Rahm Kota’s apprentice prior to Order 66! Side note: I’d love to see Kota return! The idea of a Jedi that survived Order 66 because he didn’t have Clones around him is really good!
I think there’s a way to bring him into the story if they did tweak his story slightly. I could easily imagine Vader training an apprentice to hunt down Cal or any other Jedi still in hiding. I think it’s also very much in Vader’s mind that he could never fully trust the inquisitors so there was always a backup plan (Galen) whom he kept not only as an apprentice for whenever he finally chose to overthrew Sidious but also as a counterbalance to ensure against any inquisitor getting too strong. Rebels makes it seem like there were multiple factions fighting against The Empire before they became “The Alliance” so I don’t think it’s beyond belief that Vader tasks someone to help go undercover and flush out The Empire’s enemies into the open.
I'm surprised a question like this never came up in your charity stream with special guest cameo Sam Witwer. There was talk about Star Wars, there was talk of the characters he played in media both animated and live action, but there was never a question asked of if Sam would do any live action work in Star Wars. I could absolutely see him portraying a version of Galen Marek simply because he portrayed him for the game and they modeled the character to look even more like him after he was cast. Like, come on, it's perfect casting. Now obviously he couldn't say yes or no to such a question, but come on, that would be pretty cool to see Sam do a live action Star Wars thing.
I actually had this idea a while ago with the introduction of the Inquisitors that maybe Galen Marek could have been not just a normal inquisitor, but the most powerful Inquisitor/ex-inquisitor, who either turns good (which I love about Original Star Killer) I don’t think would work since at this point there are in my opinion, there are too many Jedi alive after Order 66. So maybe instead of him turning good, he is just some apex predator inquisitor who you’d have to run from. Or if he does finally turn good, he dies as not to undo the weight of Order 66 wiping out the Jedi.
If star killer were to return i could imagine him being a very powerful inquisitor that eventually gets on vaders bad side due to becoming a potential rival and thus vader tries to kill him. However instead of him just being killed of his fate would be a bit unclear and he would eventually make a return in a different series kinda like maul did
I haven't played Force Unleashed but it looks awesome is there anything in the game that contradicts current canon or would it be possible to be recanonized one day?
Him as the main or secondary antagonist to ashoka would be really cool. Like he could be the grand inquisitor that replaced the paun one and has survived thus far working with thrawn
Not as he was. If they want to use the name, or Sam Witwer's voice, that's great. But just bringing back the character from Force Unleashed would be a horrible mistake. The idea of making him an Inquisitor (maybe even the Grand Inquisitor's replacement) is the best way they could add him in.
I would love to see him Fallen Order 2, but as a anti hero type character. Maybe, they make a former inquisitor assisting and at odds with Kal and the crew through out the game. Through out the game we get more of what is new canon story is. Similar to Ventress in the Clone Wars.
Galen showing up as an inquisitor would be a perfectly fine interpretation of his original character, I just would hope his internal moral struggle would still be present and hell, even more fleshed out than it was originally.
I think you can defiantly rework his story into cannon. Vader can still find him as a child, that part has already been established in canon with the empire seeking out force sensitive children. You can then have him trained by Vader, not as a secret apprentice but as the next generation of Inquisitors. So far, all Inquisitors we've seen are fallen Jedi, and their success rate has been less than impressive. (I mean, the Grand Inquisitor lost to a former Padawan and his Padawan.). So training a new generation of force users without the taint of the Jedi for new generation of Inquisitors is already the perfect back story. And instead of him influencing the Rebellion, this time the Rebellion influences him to fight back against the Empire and turn against his Brothers and Sisters.
I run an Edge of the Empire campaign, the inquisitor hunting our group is Star killer :) I tried pretty hard to stay true to his origins but weave him into the current canon
I think bringing him back as an inquisitor would definitely be the most badass idea of all. I’d see him not just as an inquisitor, but one Darth Vader deeply respected, as if he was his own apprentice. He’s powerful, (not as powerful as he was in the game but still very powerful. And more powerful than Vader and Palplatine combined) Galen Marek is easily one of my favorite legends characters. And the Force Unleashed is still one of my favorite Star Wars games of all time. I have both games and loved both, less TFU II was a disappointment for being so short but it didn’t stop me from playing it over and over again.
I think that he could be added into the canon but as an inquisitor and not as overpowered and only an adaptation of the first game (the second ones story was bad and definitely couldn't fit into the timeline). If they make him an inquisitor who was a child of a jedi that Vader killed and have him slowly join the rebellion only to die fighting Vader, maybe he can't move away from needing vengeance against his adoptive father after learning of his real family (give him a tradgic angle). I'd not have him be part of the rebellions formation partly cause that's already been well fleshed out and I never liked it in the first place, maybe he could form a cell within the rebellion but it would also be nice to have a story that isn't about that, so I'd rather it was just a simple he discovers the truth and tries to get revenge. You could link him to the fallen order games and have him start out as another inquisitor but he is then told the truth and over the game begins to accept it and at the end joins them, only to die in a later game on a quest for revenge against Vader, the other characters could choose to leave to fight another day but starkiller doesn't, it could either be a cool bonus level that you can't win or a awesome cutscene. After spending at least two games with the character, maybe even helping him uncover his true past, and seeing him go from the darkside to the light, only to fall to his darkness in the end, his death would have a lot of weight.
Since the second sister, and grand inquisitor were killed, the skilled inquisitors are near to none. I think starkiller should take the mantle as the Grand Inquisitor, a menacing Lord Starkiller helmet would make people hype as hell. And keep the reverse grip, everyone will go crazy If they see an inquisitor using the grip form.
I love the character of starkiller! He’s honestly amazing I think and the force unleashed games are very underrated I think but gameplay for the first game can be very wonky at times. Lol
I'd like Starkiller as Ezra serving Thrawn, but I doubt anything like that is even discussed. Starkiller as an Inquisitor is the most probable way to introduce him. Though giving Sam Witwer another role in a TV show, would be great.
Ah yes Darth Default Face. You'd have to make him much more grounded but it could work. That said if I wanna see someone reappear as an inquisitor it's Mara.
The reason fallen orders force powers were done right is the fact that Kal is still a novice with the force and combat. It was pretty lackluster if you asked me. But that's the point So let's not compare the 2 games or their characters, buddy. Kal had a little bit training before order 66. Starkiller on the other hand was being trained by Vader himself, and was being constantly tested and battleharden, of course he's gonna be OP ASF
He could come in as the 1st Inquisitor to be an inquisitor who wasn't a Jedi previously. Vader could still find him the same way he did before and could even have Starkiller convinced that he is his in fact Vader's, secret, apprentice. We could follow him hunting Jedi with the same crew from the 1st game even have him "betrayed" by Vader again because he was "found out" have go out and try to assemble as many Jedi as possible instead of starting the rebels alliance, maybe have him meet Cal and the Force sensitive children he's found. Vader comes and takes the children to become inquisiters similarly as Starkiller did. Then Starkiller mounts a rescue for the children and Cal. PLOT TWIST! Replace Juno with Mara Jade have her brought in and also believes she's Vader's secret apprentice, giving them the titles of "The First Son" and "Daughter" and while together they might be able to bring Vader down Palpatine tells the two if they fight each other then the winner could become his new apprentice. They fight maybe only one is interested in becoming a Sith. Cal could interfere or their affections for each other over power the the dark side desires then Vader returns and injured one, most likely Mara. Cal with Mara escape with the children while Starkiller hold of Vader to give them a chance. He's defeated and is tortured by Vader until he swears loyalty to Vader and Palpatine followed by dawning something like his Sith stalker helmet and swears to kill both Cal and Mara taking the children to training them to become the next generation of inquisiters, End
In the context of legends canonicity, anything created by or overseen by Lucas was highest tier. So, it was below film and tv, but higher than everything else.
Would be awesome if he was a kind of deuteragonist with Cal. You get to play as both characters, Galen initially hunting Cal and letting you play with dark side powers, then at the end the two of them team up and stop a genocide or something ultimately losing their life.
I think Starkiller as a character or him in a new Force Unleashed style game would be a perfect way for Lucasfilm to still do new stuff with old Legends characters without having to worry about implementing them into the current canon. There could be lots of new stories told with characters like Starkiller, but keeping them labeled as Legends would allow for more creative freedom to tell cool new stories with these characters that lots of people love without being restrained by having to make them fit in with everything else that has been created for "canon".
id love to see starkiller return as vaders personal assassin again bc even tho inquisitors were around im sure vaders secret apprentice can still be but the emperor has his own assassin mara jade (my friend gave shared his head canon to me) and her mission is to kill starkiller after he is revealed to the emperor by his spies
id change the jedi on felucia from shaak ti to someone else and change the relationship between stakiller and the rebels bc that half of the story wouldnt fit into current canon still the first 3 missions can stay mostly the same with minor tweaks
The games exaggerated his powers for the sake of gameplay, the novels explain it much more, and he’s not as powerful in the comics but still powerful and rightly so. Tbh force unleashed 2 was a little strange but still kinda cool. Idk the force unleashed 1 is fine as it’s own conclusive story that I wish was still part of canon.
Since the second half of his story is all about clones I think it'd be cool for him to be a new type of Jengo Fett character and star wars moving forward having a big presence of Galen clones
I do understand their reasoning with not bringing back Starkiller because the fans would be mad they nerfed him. I would still love to see him though, regardless of how strong he is in the new canon.
I'm playing the force unleashed for the first time rn and this is what I expected when I first heard that respawn was making fallen order (which I love the way it is) and I'm kinda surprised how good this game holds up
They could go down a route where fallen order 2 does a time jump maybe five years so that way they could say Galen Merrick was 10 when order 66 was executed in the empire rose. Going off from that they can make it to where he was one of the first children taken by plapatine like we saw him do in the clone wars wars and in rebels. They could even go as far as to make him Vader‘s personal inquisitor like how Ventress was Dooku’s own personal assassin.
Would be cool to play both sides in Jedi 2. You play Cal Kestis fighting alongside Saw Garera’s rebellion whilst playing an inquisitor training under the inquisitorious, being looked over by the Grand Inquisitor, but personally trained by Darth Vader. Would even be cooler now since Vader sees one of these Inquisitors as potential and trains under him, competing against the Grand Inquisitor for the rule of the Inquisitors, and maybe even does rule after the Grand Inquisitors death??? Would be good for a Force Unleashed 2.0 Another idea: Starkiller is adapted as a powerful Inquisitor threatening the Grand Inquisitor's rank, the Grand Inquisitor sees Vader's interest in Starkiller to replace him, letting himself go in Rebels. "There are some things far more frightening than Death." This leaves the rank of Grand Inquisitor open for Vader to promote his favorite closer to his side, as his indirect apprentice. Vader's Apprentice (The New Grand Inquisitor) would be sent mission-by-mission, just like The Force Unleashed, to hunt Jedi and take the prize to Vader. This works in Vader's favor greater than originally (TFU) because of Starkillers professional rank as a Jedi Hunter, and not (at front face) an apprentice; until he becomes too powerful for the Emperor's taste. Some of Starkiller's trophies could be Cere Junda, Cal Kestis, Quinlan Vos, Oppo Rancisis, Coleman Kcaj, etc; until he (the apprentice of Darth Vader) faces the Apprentice of Anakin Skywalker, Ahsoka Tano. I would like Ahsoka to be the one that chooses Starkiller's fate, whether she's faced with killing him or not; but showing Anakin is the better of Vader.
I always had a ideia for Galen's return in the new Star Wars canon without change much of his backstory: - Vader found Galen in the same way as the first game, maybe a little bit more older and maybe a padawan of his own father - Galen became a Inquisitor at same time he is secretly training by Vader with the same goal to kill the Emperor - Vader use Galen in secret missions around the galaxy, mostly to find and kill jedis and even other inquisitors as way to weaken the Emperor powers - The best way to introduce Galen again is in Jedi Fallen Order 2, first hunting Cal and the other Inquisitors, then he is betrayed and join Cal against The Emperie ( we could even play as Galen at some point in the game, seeing he's past and understanding more about him ) - Juno and Proxy could return as well, i would love to see both of them in the Mantis - General Kota could return as friend of Jaro Tapal and help Cal against Galen until he comes to the Light Side and then becomes Galens Master, just like the first Force Unleashed - Galen could die in this game and be one of the inspirations for the Rebellion, if a Inquisitor can defy the Empire, others around the galaxy can
Could Galen still become canon? It would be more interesting if he was Palpatine secret apprentice instead of Vader. I want more Palpatine I'm sorry I rather see him train this secret apprentice as his own son. Despite him being who he is he could have a 5% chance of empathy as long as it serves his purpose. Let's just say if the man wasn't a Jedi but was force sensitive and didn't care for jedi politics but where there must be balance where both sides thrive. Palpatine didn't always agree with his friend in his views but admired how you can quickly get things done by having balance. He knew that his friend and this female jedi loved each other and orchestrated them away from order 66. The emperor dispatched two inquisitors to go along with battalion because rumors of a rebel uprising on this planet. The two inquisitors were killed along with the female jedi and the other fatally stabbed. As Palpatine arrives he moments later with his theme music playing he begins to tell how disappointed he is in is friend as that he could've been so much more and offers him a chance to redeem himself knowing that its love the can change things. As he is being tortured he is stopped by a child and at the same time the troopers come in like the game and well you know
I know I’m late but I’ve had this idea that Starkiller would still be Vader’s secret apprentice but only as a contingency in case the grand inquisitor died. Starkiller would be his replacement. But the inquisitor program wasn’t very popular with the empire after most of them failed.
I think it would be a very interesting story to make him Canon and instead of Darth Vader being his master, his master would be Darth Maul, Maul would train him and he would not be as strong as in the game but he would have potential, he would perform similar missions as a spy or bounty hunter. Maul seeking revenge against Darth Sidius would train Starkiller to defeat him in a hypothetical and epic double combat between Sidius and Vader vs Starkiller and Maul. Ending in the "death" of Starkiller and Maul managing to escape heading to Tatooine tired and disappointed to face Obi-wan ending his life. While Darth Vader as a result of his fight against Starkiller, weak but in awe of Galen's potential, secretly rescues his body to clone him and then train him himself in order to overthrow Sidius. That just as an alternate story of course.
Reflecting on both the video and the comments: while it seems like a long shot, what if Sam Witwer/Starkiller was the eponymous Acolyte in the upcoming Acolyte show? He could be a secret sith hunting jedi.
I don't know about others But galen Marek was is and will be one of my top sw characters the force unleashed was a great game and Sam witwer did an amazing job portraying him I just hope some day i see him again playing as galen
But i also want that characters like Rahm Kota and his Militia returns. I loved that faction always because they were like the template of the Rebel Alliance
If you think about it, Starkillers timeline in legends already doesnt fit into the story. The Emporer knows that Leia and Bail Organa are part of the rebellion but waits a long time before doing anything about it.
What if Star killer was a stalker enemy like in resident evil. As you travel from planet to planet. He tracks you down and tried to kill you in the open world from time to time
Galen Marek could return in jedi fallen order 2. We could follow both him and Kal (like in the last of us 2). And he could eventually come to the light side, and him and Kal would have to fight Vader and maybe they both die but their friends (and mission) survive. Or maybe only one of them dies, or neither dies who knows. but the idea of following and playing both with a light side and dark side force user, would be amazing (Galen wouldn't be able to use force lightining, since he is just a inquisitor, but he would have a electric glove or something to compensate that).
Even if the character/timeline had to be changed, a live action Starkiller played by Sam Witwer would be incredible. I love the Force Unleashed because it's unrealistic, but also a really cool origin of the rebel alliance. Regardless, live action Starkiller would be cool in any form
Starkiller is probably one of the scariest characters I've seen in Star Wars, along with Abeloth and Nihilus. Horror + Star Wars is a perfect combo. The Death Trooper novel is a good example. I know it won't happen but... a Star Wars horror movie with Starkiller would be awesome.
Galen Marek will probably be the next Grand Inquisitor who later turns to the Light Side and join the Rebellion. He will be the reason why the Inquisitors go extinct.
I'd love this. Might be a bit of a stretch, but a fan-fic-y way of getting him in cannon that I made up for the Star Wars tabletop I'm in is that he was a dark side acolyte on Exegol who's life was destroyed when the Resistance and the Galactic Fleet brought down Sidious and his fleet of Xyston class Star Destroyers. Orphaned and alone he fell in with remnant cults and bounced around the seedier side of the galaxy collecting dark artifacts and doing the dirty work of the cult's leaders until he runs afoul of the Jedi or whatever is left of the New Republic. In the tabletop he was hunted down and crashed on a backwater medieval world that the Sith used to train on (by slaughtering the armor clad knights sent to slay the lightning breathing demons from the sky that would come every few decades). Once there he saved a girl from being burned as a witch (she was force sensitive with animal-empathy abilities) and eventually he and the rest of the party helped take out the Sith possessed god-king of the country we were in (no planetary state yet). Now a fleet of bounty hunters led by a Jedi Paladin have basically invaded this medieval world looking for him and the dark side relics that the god-king was gifted by the Sith, and it's getting very 40K Exterminatus so we're looking to either turn ourselves in or take out the cruiser overhead. The apprentice (another player) is also stuck with us so they're most likely gonna have to leave their home planet and see the wider galaxy they never knew about.
idc about Starkiller per se but I think Sam Witwer definitely deserves a live action role in a major Star Wars production.
He was briefly heard in TROS, but it would be cool to see him do more.
Yea that’s would be what I prefer
I never played TFU, and to be honest I don't care for it. However, I am satisfied that my favorite character from a game I have played has become Canon. And that character is REVAN.
Star killer is easily one of the if not the most powerful force user and insane duelist let’s not forget he made Vader’s force choke look ten times better when he choked like 100 stormtroopers at once than turned them into dust
He could easily play a live action maul
Starkiller acting as the main bad guy of Fallen Order 2 would be intense. And you could have it be a thing where Vader selected him specifically in the hopes that you two kill each other, as he fears Galen is growing a bit too strong in the Dark Side and may become a legitimate threat.
That would sell me on the game instantly.

If you want to get technical, Kanan is technically a canon version of him. Both were blind drunks who distrusted clones, became blind because of the actions of sam witwer, and were integral to begining the rebellion.
@@subjectnether959 When was Kanan a drunk?

That wouldn't be bringing him "back to canon" he still is part of the canon he appeared in, that would be introducing him to the new one. And it wouldn't be really him, just a guy with his looks and name, like they did with Thrawn. Master Rham is doing fine, why don't you enjoy him as he is? Do you really think that if something isn't part of the Disney canon, it isn't worth your time?
@@subjectnether959 Yeah but we want Kota too, not just Kanan.
There are absurd things forced into Canon (not all of came from Legends), and by comparison, Starkiller can be incorporated more naturally than people give him credit for.
I 100% agree he can still be hinted at as a secret apprentice and also keep his true capabilities a mystery play on that jedi hunting role he has
How can he be incoporated. He is also extremely over powered.
@@jmgonzales7701 not really, other characters could achieve the same feats he could like anakin, yoda, mace windu, etc
@@giosbizarreart9048 Can windu bring down a star destroyer from orbit? Or disintegrate Stormtroopers?
I see Galen roughly as "one of the more-likely of the unlikely characters to return"
Not likely but also not impossible.
My best bet? Elements of Galen Marek will become an antagonist in the Fallen Order series
Just make Sam Witwer himself canon
Honestly, I've always been of the opinion that much of Galen Marek's story could be adapted into Canon without needing to change much of the details.
He was Darth Vader's Secret apprentice, afterall. So his existence and everything he was involved in would be about as 'top secret' and 'off the books' as you could get in the Empire. I'd be willing to bet that not even the Inquisitors would know of his existence.
Would he be as OP with the Force as he was in the games? Probably not. Much of that was exaggerated for the sake of gameplay. However, as Galen Marek is supposed to be the child of two Jedi as well as being pushed to and beyond his limits and experimented on by Vader, I think there's a lot you could do with that in Canon.
i wish we got force unleashed 3, cause 2 was kind off a cliffhanger, and his story didnt really have an ending on the is he a clone or not, vader being captured and boba following him and i fully expected starkiller to either retire or die in 3 back when they were making it
Lets not forget that it would be a beautiful and thrilling explanation on how the rebellion came to be, would be a giant step up fron the current one
I wasn’t a huge fan of the force unleashed games, but your idea for Fallen Order 2 is really interesting.

@@eduardosotelo8446 The coolest thing about Force Unleashed was the alternate skins and the "What if" style of dlc.
I have a feeling Alex has been wanting a reason to use Kriff in one of his videos since its appearance in the High Republic comic series.
Last of us 2 style hell yeah

I think Starkiller would work better as an antagonist that you really get to know over the course of the game. He’s basically the same age as Cal Kestis and they could be excellent foils to each other. Perhaps they could incorporate part of each other’s move sets as the game goes on, so you get some dark side abilities as you want, but the heel-face turn takes place from Cal’s point of view. I don’t think changing protagonist would be a good idea for the sequel.

Everything is canon when its a legend :)
Indeed. Star Wars is a mythology, and if you look at something like Arthurian mythology, it's full of contradictions and there is no canon as such.

I mean, someone had to replace the Grand Inquisitor 🤷♂️
Just what I've been thinking, we know nothing of the Inquisitors from after Rebels.
Yo? Thought this was a different channel for a second!
Love this video fam.
Not as he was. If they want to use the name, or Sam Witwer's voice, that's great. But just bringing back the character from Force Unleashed would be a horrible mistake. The idea of making him an Inquisitor (maybe even the Grand Inquisitor's replacement) is the best way they could add him in.
Agreed. They could pull a Thrawn and put him in another era but that really wouldn’t be the same character
I would love to see him Fallen Order 2, but as a anti hero type character. Maybe, they make a former inquisitor assisting and at odds with Kal and the crew through out the game. Through out the game we get more of what is new canon story is. Similar to Ventress in the Clone Wars.
Galen showing up as an inquisitor would be a perfectly fine interpretation of his original character, I just would hope his internal moral struggle would still be present and hell, even more fleshed out than it was originally.
he would need to be massively nerfed but i hope disney brings him back at some point
I want to see Sam Witwer play him in one of the live action shows
I run an Edge of the Empire campaign, the inquisitor hunting our group is Star killer :) I tried pretty hard to stay true to his origins but weave him into the current canon
Can you make another video asking the same question about Mara Jade?
I’d love to see Galen show up in canon some day
Yes. He could fit in as the next grand inquisitor. Keep the secret apprentice thing but move the timeline closer to ANH
But that's the point
So let's not compare the 2 games or their characters, buddy.
Will the upcoming 3rd season of the Mandalorian use Mando'a? Mando'a was used in Rebels when Sabine went home.
Was Starkiller ever canon? The game felt so isolated from Legends and had heavy direction from Lucas who notoriously ignored Legends.
You briefly mentioning fallen order made me re-download it. Might be time for another playthrough!
Inquisitor Starkiller is something I didn't know I needed until now...
Honestly one of my favorite characters in the Star Wars series.
I'm playing the force unleashed for the first time rn and this is what I expected when I first heard that respawn was making fallen order (which I love the way it is) and I'm kinda surprised how good this game holds up
Starkiller is by far my favorite character, i'd love to see him in a movie/tv series
If he returns to Canon with the Sith Stalker armor, I’d cry.
Not only you- Starkiller have special place in our hearts
Would be cool to play both sides in Jedi 2. You play Cal Kestis fighting alongside Saw Garera’s rebellion whilst playing an inquisitor training under the inquisitorious, being looked over by the Grand Inquisitor, but personally trained by Darth Vader. Would even be cooler now since Vader sees one of these Inquisitors as potential and trains under him, competing against the Grand Inquisitor for the rule of the Inquisitors, and maybe even does rule after the Grand Inquisitors death??? Would be good for a Force Unleashed 2.0
Another idea: Starkiller is adapted as a powerful Inquisitor threatening the Grand Inquisitor's rank, the Grand Inquisitor sees Vader's interest in Starkiller to replace him, letting himself go in Rebels.
After Kenobi Episode 5 when Vader through the force brought down that decoy freighter. Hell yes! Bring on Starkiller.
I would love to see him being the very first inquisitor or maybe being a secret inquisitor that Darth Vader chose personally.
I always had a ideia for Galen's return in the new Star Wars canon without change much of his backstory:
- Vader found Galen in the same way as the first game, maybe a little bit more older and maybe a padawan of his own father
- Galen became a Inquisitor at same time he is secretly training by Vader with the same goal to kill the Emperor
- Vader use Galen in secret missions around the galaxy, mostly to find and kill jedis and even other inquisitors as way to weaken the Emperor powers
- The best way to introduce Galen again is in Jedi Fallen Order 2, first hunting Cal and the other Inquisitors, then he is betrayed and join Cal against The Emperie ( we could even play as Galen at some point in the game, seeing he's past and understanding more about him )
- Juno and Proxy could return as well, i would love to see both of them in the Mantis
- General Kota could return as friend of Jaro Tapal and help Cal against Galen until he comes to the Light Side and then becomes Galens Master, just like the first Force Unleashed
- Galen could die in this game and be one of the inspirations for the Rebellion, if a Inquisitor can defy the Empire, others around the galaxy can
Could Galen still become canon?
So you want a different character then?
Reflecting on both the video and the comments: while it seems like a long shot, what if Sam Witwer/Starkiller was the eponymous Acolyte in the upcoming Acolyte show? He could be a secret sith hunting jedi.
I don't know about others
But galen Marek was is and will be one of my top sw characters
the force unleashed was a great game and Sam witwer did an amazing job portraying him
I just hope some day i see him again playing as galen
Yes he should become canon because he’s really awesome and badass
But i also want that characters like Rahm Kota and his Militia returns. I loved that faction always because they were like the template of the Rebel Alliance
If you think about it, Starkillers timeline in legends already doesnt fit into the story. The Emporer knows that Leia and Bail Organa are part of the rebellion but waits a long time before doing anything about it.
What if Star killer was a stalker enemy like in resident evil. As you travel from planet to planet. He tracks you down and tried to kill you in the open world from time to time
omg on one hand I love that. On the other hand I don’t want to scream and cry the entire time like I did during Resident Evil 2
2:19 didn't know you could deflect like that
Even if the character/timeline had to be changed, a live action Starkiller played by Sam Witwer would be incredible.
