Geographically Georgia is in Asia (in Trans Caucasia), being south of Caucasus. Merely because Georgians want to be known as Europeans it is put in Europe. Joseph Djugashvili. otherwise known as Stalin, was from Georgia.
Caucasus (say Europeans themselves who artificially, non-geographically made Europe as a continent, based on European ethnicity) runs north of Georgia (check it out) passing throough North-South Ossetia border. I as a Geographer can't accept the human, popular version. Geography & Earth's land forms existed million years before men(Homo Sapiens ) came on Earth. Who are they, after all to impose their unnatural definitions? Hmm...?
Poornakumar Das you’re right I mean most of the maps don’t even show Turkey or Russia as part of Europe despite that geographically they’re both partially in Europe
Bayburt Nadim! You are right in parts, but way off on some. Do you know that Eastern "HALF" of Europe is Russia- from Kanin's Nos to the Tongue of Arabat , between White & Black Seas? Probably not. Russians are Europeans (ethnic Rus) all, whiter than most Whites. All Asiatics in that country are called (not ethnic) 'Russian' nationals. You people suffer from a severe incurable disease of Euro-centrism? Geographic basis of delineating continents is never humans' ethnicity. Europe has been named a continent by Europeans yet, on that basis. Continents were here like that even when there were no humans on them. No continent-pair has more than a land border of a hundred miles (if ever), to qualify for a continent. No, but look at Europe? It doesn't qualify for a continent with a 4000 mile border with Asia. At least the Europeans (after conceding their point) must keep their mouths shut (& their other ends)now. But No! The bas tards never learn nor know what is a Continent. What to do with them? Lot of bullshit gets written about Turkey being "Europe". I say "baLLs". About 95% of it is in Asia & about a 5% in Europe, to serve as a fig leaf for its European-ness. Kazakhstan with more (proportionately more) land in Europe & is never named European. But shouldn't it be called European? Who are these fuckers who call one a European & the other something else?
@@MrPoornakumar Why Tongue of Arabat? I was there, it's Crimean peninsula, no way it can or could serve as a border of Europe. In the times of antiquity the border between Europe and Asia was marked by Polibius as (South to North) Dardanelles strait (Hellespont), Marble Sea (Propontida), Bosphorus Strait, Black Sea (Pontus Euxinus), Kerch strait (Bosphorus Cimmericus), Azov Sea (Palus Mæotis), Don river (Tanais). Then in XVIc. Gerhardus Mercator marked the border further from the Don offsprings straight north up to the White Sea. Nowadays the Eastern geographic border of Europe is officially marked in Russia as a line from the Baydaratskaya Guba Bay of the Karsky Sea (600 km east from Kanin Nos peninsula of the White Sea) to the south along the ridge of the Ural mountains comes to the territory of Kazakhstan (yes, this vast Central Asian country is partially Europe) along the ridge of the Mugodzhar Hills then on the river Emba, then across the Caspian Sea to the mouth of the river Kuma, then through the Kumo-Manych depression to the lower reaches of the Don river and further coincides with border marked by Polibius. It's some 200-300 km to the north from Caucasian ridge, so geographically Georgia, Armenia are not Europe. Their politics have another opinion, though.

I really do like this video, although I must say it's not complete, leaving out the Vatican City, which is the smallest sovereign country both by area and population. And if you mention the Sovereign Order of Malta, then you also ought to mention the Holy See - many confuse the Holy See with the Vatican City, but actually it is a seperate sovereign entity, consisting only of the pope and thus making it even smaller than the Order of Malta. And it is in fact the Holy See and not the Vatican City that maintains diplomatic relations with other states and is represented at the UN (although not a member). But still: a very good video. Well, Russia consists of 85 federal subject, and 22 of these are autonomous republics. One is Sakha (or Yakutia), and this part of Russia makes itself 7th in the world by territory - bigger than Argentina and just a bit smaller than India - some about 1/3 of US territory or 2/3 of the Europe-only countries alltogether. Now, most amazing fact: population of Sakha Republic is... less than 1 000 000. Uh oh! But why?! The matter is, it's the coldest place in Russia. There in the heart of Siberia winter frost every year makes daily mean -46.4°C (-51.5°F), and reaches record low at -67.7°C (-89.9°F). Still people live there constantly.
Well, the difference is the US build itself « only » since the 18th century, and they either bought or conquered large land areas which relative ease. Meanwhile in Europe, current borders are determined by two millennia of wars and treaties. Large countries would break up into smaller ones which would then go to war over throne succession. And with even smaller, microstates countries declaring their independence in the meantime, it’s no wonder Europe’s geography is so messed up.

Geographically Georgia is in Asia (in Trans Caucasia), being south of Caucasus. Merely because Georgians want to be known as Europeans it is put in Europe. Joseph Djugashvili. otherwise known as Stalin, was from Georgia.
Poornakumar Das yes we know but I have legit never heard anyone refear to it as Asia
Their politics have another opinion, though.
i’ve actually considered luxembourg as one of my options for where i’ll move in the future! i’ve always had an interest in the little place :-) found it kinda cool when there was a luxembourgish one-off character in an episode of mash, luxembourg doesn’t rlly get mentioned in much media (especially american media) so it was a nice detail

Well said,@@igorvoloshin8515! I think Europeans' sense of proportion is well distorted.
@@francis_p ! I agree with you.I wouldn't have written any better.
@Σκληρός Καριόλης the euroean union is not a single country like the united states, and its not meant to be a single country. it will never unite into one country
Oh man I really hoped to learn something :(
Greetings from Germany 🇩🇪
Hahah :D
Preach it brother
Of all these countries, I only don't know about the "Order of Malta"
13:01 "Two thousand square kilometers" -- C'mon, General Knowledge, can't you read from your own transcript? It's about 2 square kilometers.
He probably had 2000 square metres written
Macedonia Changed Its Name to The Northern Republic Of Macedonia
Iowa Mapping Yes but they haven't done that oficially because that name has to go through referendum.
Republic of North Macedonia and it's official now
As a European, I feel offended
San Marino: I'm the smalle...
Vatican City: hold my beer
Don't you mean hold my wine?
I new them all.
Monaco has only 2 sq km, not 2000!
Yeah, 2,02 sq km not 2020 sq km...
Dennis Fluttershy - I figured everyone would type km² if it were easy to type, but I didn't even know how to type a squared symbol until just now when I googled it, and on my computer it requires pressing ctrl+cmd+spacebar, then waiting for the popup to load, and then finding the squared symbol. Or, I could just type two additional letters and it'll still get my point across just as effectively. That's why I personally just type 'square km' or 'sq km' or something - but if I'm writing on paper, I would absolutely use the squared symbol every time. That's just me, though.
A Dodge Monaco is bigger than the country of Monaco.
:D You made my day!!
I from Argentina 🇦🇷 and I know these countries 👍
The rule is that people from US don't know Europe geography, but it's good to know that it's only US
Me who knows everyone of these +more: sad American noises
The capital of Malta is most certainly not 800 square meters in size. That's the size of a moderately sized backyard.
Vatican,Jersey, Gibraltar ?
isle man,sark.
Gibraltar is a British territory not a country,so is Isle of Mann
@@greyjay9492: The Isle of Man is not a British territory: it is a semi-autonomous Crown Dependency - as are the Bailiwick of Jersey and the Bailiwick of Guernsey. Elizabeth II is Duke of Normandy within the Bailiwick of Jersey and the Bailiwick of Guernsey, and Lord of Mann in respect of the Isle of Man.
@@gerardcollins1767: Sark is not a country but a royal fief, and is a part of the Bailiwick of Guernsey, a semi-autonomous Crown dependency. The Isle of Man also is a semi-autonomous Crown dependency.

So Georgia is on the list, but Armenia not?xD It's as unkown as Georgia.
Georgia and Armenia shouldn't be considered European nor Asian.
They are are part of bigger Europe(?) which goes to the ural, over the bosporus, to irak/iran
Over the Bosphorus to Iran? So even Turkey and Azerbaijan is Europe. And why not Kudistan too? It's near Israel, wich has a strong occidental culture xD
@@LuísJarles Yes turkey and azerbaijan to
Kudistan is to far away from Europe
Bigger Europe ends in Azerbaijan
I like the video, but I can always expect snobby know-it-all commenters on your videos.
Regarding Macedonia, it was in 1913 that the region of Macedonia got to be divided between Serbia, Greece and Bulgaria. It is the "Serbian" part of Macedonia that in 1945 became one of 6 Yugoslav republics and became independent (today North Macedonia), all because Serbs gave the most freedom to Macedonians to developed themselves, unlike Greece and Bulgaria which didnt wanted even to discuss about them and just forcebly incorporated them.
San Marino "since the 16th century" but then you wrote 1600s, (that's the 17th century)

@@omni-man3870 Why do you have to be such a dumb Nationalist? Kosovo had been recognized by 100+ UN members and most of the Kosovars clearly aren't Serbian, and want to break off of it, why can not you allow it?
