    I've just got a pair of Mach X, only 1 run so far but they feel great to me, so many elements of your description don't really mesh with my first impressions, I wonder if later production versions are slightly different. Mine don't appear to be anywhere near as stiff as yours, and on foot the upper feels very similar to the Mach 5 in terms of fit, also medial heel stability feels very reassuring to me. I'm pretty happy with them and looking forward to plenty of more runs.

    I have the Boston 12. Excellent for me once I don't let my cadance drop.. Even took them off road and they were very stable and comfortable. Usually I hate plated shoes on loose gravel because they are to stiff but the Boston 12 with the rods does a great job also on gravel and camber roads.

    When I tried the Boston 12s on, I found the midfoot was very narrow for me; I felt like my arch was collapsing medially off the shoe with no support at all. I sent them back. I don't have a wide foot, but my foot shape seems like it's almost the same width from heel to toe. I also have the Mach X. It's ok, but I find that I don't do well with any kind of plate in a shoe. The hunt for a daily trainer continues (I use the Topo Cyclone 2 for faster workouts, but didn't like the fit of the Phantom).

      Asics Superblast sounds like it's made for you.

    Love my Boston 12, they are good at slow pace but they really shine at faster paces and they fit my slightly wider foot. I don’t think the Hoka would fit me.

      I don’t know how your foot compares to mine but I demoed the Mach x and a half size up worked fine :)

    Great comparison. Tks. I would also like to see a comparison between Boston 12 and puma deviate nitro 2. Have you thought about that? I think they fall into the same category, do you agree? Tks

      Si,hay una comparativa y el Puma es más lento comparado con Boston 12.

    I tried the Mach X, didn’t like them but then I didn’t like the Mach 4, so I’m guessing the Mach line doesn’t work for me.
    Looking to upgrade my Boston 10 so the 12 might be the better choice for me.

    How is the durability of the Boston? I tend to wear the rubber off on the posterolateral side really fast so I’ve been trying to a shoe I can run 400+ miles in without wearing through the midsole.

    Still looking for Goldilocks. A stable neutral performance shoe with good traction for running in the rain. Think Superblast with a Ghost outsole.

    I tried the Boston 12 in store and I found that the lateral side of the heel was not level with the medial side (lateral side was not touching the ground), making it I guess not very stable at the heel.. Is it safe for a heel striker? All my shoes have significant wear on those lateral heel sides.. thanks

    • @DoctorsofRunning
      @DoctorsofRunning  Год назад

      Lateral heel bevels are usually pretty good actually. The midsole itself is a bit unstable and through the midfoot which is it’s own thing, but a lateral heel bevel is our preferred often. When the bevel is medial or centered, it causes more issues.

    boston 12 was a big let down for me. I really wanted to like them, but unfortunately they just didn't hit.
    - found it hard to get a good lock down.
    - sizing is off. i'm always a US10 in everything, but in my boston 12, I had far too much room in the forefoot and heel.
    - heel area feels heavy. I have to adapt my usual forefoot strike to more midfoot for me to feel 'comfortable' running.
    sad...

    Which would you say is a more stable shoe, Boston 12 or Adios Pro 3?

    • @DoctorsofRunning
      @DoctorsofRunning  Год назад +2

      Adios pro 3 by far due to the increase rod stiffness and better sole flaring
