- A lot of patients find root canals scary, and that's appropriate. But that's partly due to a lack of understanding of the process and what to expect.

Root canals, or extractions, can SUCK. I’ve had them both, many times. If you can afford, literally afford, to save the tooth, do it with a good endodontist or dentist. If not, prepare for the expense of dentures later in life (or sooner) of dentures. If, like me, you have a condition like Gastroparesis and are prone to vomiting, I sincerely and deeply wish you the best.
prayers for u all
I had a tooth with a very bad infection, nearly killed me. They pushed for me to get a root canal and save the tooth. I would have loved to do so but it’s not like I have $1400 lying around. The tooth extraction saved my life at a fraction of the cost.
I just went to the dentist and had to pay 750 for my root canal,Then I gotta go back in 3 weeks and pay another $1,100 how fun!!!!
You’re healthy for doing that!!
That's basically what idid I got one in my teens and had a crown put on. Still have it 10 years later
Never try and save something in the body that's already dead...
root canal cost 20x than extraction, so poor people always opt for extraction... so oral hygiene should always be thought more on less fortunate people.
ROOT CANALS ARE POISON. IT'S NOT ABOUT THE MONEY. Read the books: THE ROOT CANAL COVER-UP & DEATH BY ROOT CANAL & TOXIC TOOTH & MANY OTHER BOOKS. ALL WRITTEN BY PHYSICIANS AND DENTISTS that fought against the ADA. THE AMERICAN DENTAL ASSOCIATION COVERS UP THE TRUTH.
Wow, you an american?
@@iiiAcceptits not just america, i live in australia and dental work costs s lot of money.
@@iiiAccept mainly no government gonna pay for root canal sadly. It doesn't matter anywhere , you have to pay it yourself and the price is expensive.
@@iiiAccept I live in PH i can vouch also in NZ too price.
I paused and watched your video without sound. You look quite normal !
I’d rather catch the cavity early and get a 150 dollar filling instead of a 1900 dollar root canal. I had 3 enamel cavities drilled and filled. Never had a dentin cavity. Regular brushing and flossing as well as dental checkups are very helpful in preventing root canals or extractions. However I’d take a root canal over an extraction anyday.
It's 850 here in southernCalifornia
Omg so expensive, In India GI filing is 10USD and composite is approx 15USD and RCT would cost somewhere around 100-150 USD (with crown )
Los Algodones Mexico. $260 for root canal & it can get cheaper at different dental offices there. Also fillings are around $50 or less. Amazing work they do aswell.
thanks champ for taking time to explaining, great
Root canal’s are horrible! They cause loads of problems! Please do some research before making the decision to get a root canal. The documentary “root cause” is a really great starting point.
Root canal are good if u can get the good dentist
My dentist’s solution to everything is extraction 😅
I would go with extraction anytime and get the main issue resolved at once. I can deal with rebuild or replacement options later on when I get the money to do it. I'm not saving any tooth that is already damaged. Root canals are not always done properly and you would have to spend more money to address unexpected issues on that same tooth.
Screw that. It costs more therefore you will try to “save” it. Just remove it!
What if you can't afford root canal
After getting a root canal, the teeth can get dull and discolored and then opting for veneers or crown etc
My root canal filling came out after 10 days,my dentist lives very far away and it is not possible to go there immediately. what should I do now?
Hello, I was wondering something. About a few weeks ago I got my root canal treated and everything was going good. But, these days I started to taste something burnt when touching on that tooth exactly. Is it something normal? Or should I see a dentist?
A root canal is really expensive where I live.😢
They rebuild mine with filling after the rootcanal.
I'm so afraid to go to the dentist :(
The more reason you should practice oral health and have regular dental checkup to prevent having more serious procedures.
Google a dentist near you and look at reviews, I was afraid to but I needed to go, I had 12 fillings, 2 crowns. Trust me you wanna take care of your oral health
Had just a basic cavity no pain only 1sec sensitivity with extreme cold, they still did rct claiming the place of cavity and then can't do filling there.
Did you get a second opinion?
@@dejuhvu1793 no ,they i was stuck in trap.
@@noone-zl2di They did that to make more money. Sad but true.
@@zachariah1990 yes ,i always a supporter of modern medicines and doctor but these practices are just evil.
@@noone-zl2di next time you have a cavity try xylitol sugar if you can tolerate it safely. Check with your doctor but if you catch a cavity early enough your tooth can remineralize and stop the cavity. Xylitol kills the bad bacteria that cause cavities so it’s a win win. Xylitol has been hidden by many dentists due to its powerful anti cavity and dental decay properties. Xylitol comes from birch trees and corn it’s a alternative natural sugar alcohol.
Had a root canal, and I truly had to work non stop to afford it. Post the treatment, I've got an abcess on the tooth next to it, and have been told they may have either treated the wrong tooth or both needed treatment, so now I need another root canal. So I guess I'll need to have two jobs on the go now, cos I simlly cant afford it 😢😢.
Same I got an abscess too...
Give me told about another treatment..!
I have spent a lot of money on multiple root canals. I was just told now that one of my teeth that has a root canal probably has a crack in it and now I will most likely have to lose the tooth. I am upset I spent so much money to save it and now it’s all down the drain probably. Can you tell me how a tooth gets a crack in it?? Thank you Doctor.
On multiple and you still haven’t learned your lesson. Girl please brush and floss yo’ damn teeth! It will save you thousands! 🤭🤭😆
Chewing. Also any treated tooth is weaker than before 😢
Pull it!
All I can extrapolate from this dialogue is there is absolutely no guarantee in modern day 2023 dentistry.
it’s a crap shoot.
Pain and Time VS Finances.
Be afraid be very afraid.
I’m sad because I have a root canal 😢 and I’m scared
Hey ,? So what's your situation now ?
Did you done the root canal procedure ? Or you have choosed the extraction option
I had wisdom tooth growing into lower left molar teeth. It is touching the molar teeth and still I didn’t feel pain in the lower left one. The dentist told me wisdom teeth has damaged the lower left one already and root canal has to be done so I went through that procedure. But I feel that was unnecessary and there wasn’t any damage yet because there was no pain I felt. Only sort of pressure when I used to chew first few bites of food. I feel depressed sometimes thinking about it.
Hi Fawad - I have same situation. Should I also go for the root canal or extraction ?
for root canel I just were for appointment and now so much pain in it another's appointment on Tuesday when filling will be done
Are those tool HYGENIC?!?!
I got a cavity but it’s not the nerve can I do a root canal and I’ll fill it up or I need a crown
Can we stop acting like extraction and an implant are good options? Getting a metal screw lodged into your jaw bone???
prayers ipd
Two before i completed my rct
Now i facing while eating food on that tooth
I got both
At what point is root canal not possible
Money is my problem 😢
I have a tooth, treated and has a crown, but now it has an abces....
Root canals will cause so many health issues.
Like? Health issues like?
Leaving an infected tooth in your body causes way more problems than a tooth that has been root canaled.
How?why?
How?
Mine brother having RCT with local dentist from 8 years without any cap he doesn't even think about it ...but his healthy even more then
Why do you charge $900.00 for a 5 minute root canal?
It takes at least 45 minutes on a simple case by an endodontist. If its a difficult tooth it could take over an hour. If a general dentist does it, you're looking at 2 hours of work. Either way, you're paying for their experience, training, and expertise. Then you factor in the other dental staff, all the equipment used, and materials actually used in and on your tooth - that equals $1,000 +
Come here In India it roughly costs 100-120 dollars for quality root canals LOL
Dentistry is very advanced but if you think about it, it is still very crude based on potentialities of the future. Talk to a general dentist and you'll quickly find out these people don't even know how to explain the details of the human body they specialize in. It crazy but its what we have in the year 2025 still.
Even with insurance, root canal cost like $1,900
Unless you’re loaded with money, people will always go with extraction especially if it’s a back tooth
im sayinnn
A simple filling is 150 dollars per tooth.
@@davidperry4013 you can’t get filings if you need a root canal first
That’s why Mexico is the best spot to go to get any dental work. I paid $260 for a root canal & have had no problems. Also had other dental work done. Los Algodones , Mexico. Also I will say they do better work than most American dentists for a way cheaper affordable price.
@@arizonadrama facts America is about money lol
I was told I need a root canal, but they told me they would fill it first and if that didn't work THEN a root canal, but they said they wanna do a root canal, but can I still try to fill it then root canal or no? Bc I don't want a root canal
Gotta get the root canal if the tooth is badly damaged
I don't really have money to do root canal ,the dentist that i go said my tooth only can do two things , root canal (which is expensive) or extraction. I only can choose extraction ,my question is. Can extraction side of tooth to chewing food ?
Get the root canal
Root canals are poison
They just fill it up with thr cement , nothing poisonous

Have you had any experiences with root canal ? Like have you noticed health changes before/after root canal ? Would love to hear about that
@@la381 plenty of time dentist don't clean out the root. And then u have infection and have other one so you rather. Pay maybe 10,000 or pay couple hundred for pull and never have any trouble
Root canal should be avoided from my readings as the RC procedure just removes the main infected nerve and blood vessels leaving behind all the tinier branches (which are also necrotic) to rot away, harboring anaerobic bacteria that gets into the blood supply in due course causing serious chronic diseases in susceptible individuals with weaker immune systems.. antibiotics will not help as the RC procedure had cut off the blood supply- tooth connection.
Take it out. Root canals are a waste of money
Hi I want to know more. My 14 year old needs a root canal. But I don't want him to have that what's the alternative
There's no other option other than extraction, a root canal is only option if the tooth is badly decayed, it's not bad at all, I've had 3
@@rondas7772 thank but his teeth is saved through an innovative new method cant remember the name. Dentist did various tests and said his nerves were not affected. Sp cleaned the infections and covered the area with filler that generates the tissue of the teeth and grows within. Long procedure 4 hours but success. Teeth is there no pain and going for review next week
god is inside the u sir 🙏🙏🚩🚩
What happends of the crown falls off and what are the chances??
Just spent 200€ on root canal 😂
I just bit worry should I save or pull
So what do you think?
What's the healing period with the root canal
1 day with light pain
Root canals sucks. Plenty of time dentist didn't clean out the root. And yr later you will need to do it over. With more money you need to pay so easier just to pull it d ntist want money so they make more money on. Root canal then pulling
Had mine done at a root canal specialist. He had so many advanced technology that no dental office had.
I would never recommend a crown I had my root canal done 7 years before they crowned mine had no pain no issues a month after they crowned it they told me there’s a lesion in the tooth and I need to have another root canal done if it ain’t broke don’t fix it but my dentist insisted on a crown being the best option for the tooth I told her about the complications after the crown and she insisted that the root canal just magically failed she’s retiring now conveniently I wonder how many other people she messed up on
I had a similar story. Im no longer getting root canal
Im only option the extract bsd teeth now
I wish i have a lot of money
nah i let it pull out much better less money no regrets the pain was so bad
Root canal sucks big time.....fuck root canal treatment....there must be some other alternative....Root canal is a scam possibly
No it's not I've have3 and they're painful with a great dentist
Please give me knowledge about why the teeth are black..!
It is dead . Usually not painful . Have it checked .
Black before root canal or after root canal

Most Dentists are legalized sociopaths and crooks. It's rare to find an honest dentist. They are worse than the lawyers and car mechanics. That's because the ADA is, too. Look who is educating them. I’d rather just have my teeth pulled . Then to have a root canal fk all that lol.
If you have your teeth pulled a.k.a. Extracted, you're basically left with a empty crevice forever (unless it's a baby tooth) or the dentist have to literally drill into your bone to implant a new tooth, which are way more invasive than just cleaning out the infected nerve tissues and replacing the top area of a teeth with a crown with the other parts of the teeth intact.
