It didn't actually blow up, it just came apart, and because it was spinning, the drum bounced around and banged up the whole machine. Still quite scary though. :P
It's still an explosion with all the outward dents on the machine, the top being blown out of position, and the small pieces that flew all over the place.
The real question is if you have had even more reports between no and 2018. I purchased a 2020 model last week and the dryer as well. My only hope is that it survives. WT7300CW is my model, which is the best top load available according to appliance factory
My friends caught on fire and blew up into a full-blown fire. Thank goodness no one was hurt. It was in the garage not the house. There was no electrical problem with the wiring going to the machine.
That usually happens to those washers, that is an LG Mega capacity direct drive washer, since the direct drive motor is guaranteed strong because this is a mega capacity washer, as a result the load wasn't balance enough causing to explode the washer
Why was he doing slacks and shirts with towels? That's simply user error. The best that could've happened was If there was someone there when it started banging around, they could've simply paused the load rearrange or just taken the towels out. But, people never cease to amaze me with their stupidity. 2 towels slacks and shirt... That doesn't sound even the least bit balanced. Think about it, which fabric retains the most water (hint the one that has only two of which in the tub) so naturally all the Weight shifts to that one side of the tub and add 1100rpms to the mix annnnd... You get a mechanical failure. These problems are easy to avoid and don't happen as often as this little station blows it up to be. In any which case, hopefully he learns from his mistake and leaves the laundry up to his wife if those are the results he produces when he mans the helm.
Frank Borrego , I know right? This is about common sense. For some reason, many don't have any. I've had an LGWT5270CW for 2 years. I love it....no problems. I can wash a month's worth of my dress shirts in one load. It cleans them without damaging them. A lot of people buy these machines thinking they can use them like a top loading center post agitator washer from 1988 --- when nothing could be further from the truth
Wtf? Fuck washer if it cant wash whatever I put inside. No one has time to sort shirts with shirts, towels with towels etc. its just shit washer and thats it. Toploaders are horrible anyways. Frontloaders ftw!
Borrego Images seriously 😒 it only takes 2 minutes to separate ur clothes and so laundry the correct way. I also wouldnt run a load foe 3 or 4 items, to me thats a waste of everything
Samsungs certain ones do this too and rust out. We are dealing with ours now hasnt blowed up but was under recall and guy who come to fix it fixes it best he can cause washing machine less than three years old but, one of the pins that hold it together is completley rusted apart
Again, here in Panama we can at least select between HE and non-HE washers. Of course I love HE front or top loaders but lately I dont want one of them because they're extremely expensive and no got enough money.
All modern washing machines and dryers are made to last between 3-5 years. In the 70s and 80s people cared more about durability instead of cost, my wife and I had a washing machine and dryer that was older than us still going strong after 35 years of use.
I've never heard of an LG smartphone blowing up like the note 7 and 9, or the fact that it was a full year til the washer exp loded. Samsung's would blow up in 2 months or 7 hours. Like wtf samsung?

Same exact thing just happened to me with my LG washer. So upset! Glad my children were not harmed!!

this happened to is yesterday. spending over a grand for a machine that lasted just about two years is BS!!
My friends caught on fire and blew up into a full-blown fire. Thank goodness no one was hurt. It was in the garage not the house. There was no electrical problem with the wiring going to the machine.
NEVER BUYING THAT WASHER
NOT ONLY SAMSUNG!?!?!?
Last year Samsung had problems with machines blowing up, now LG has the same problems
miss our old Maytag. easy fix , nope I can't possibly be right that it's easy to fix those smh
LG now, seriously ☹️

My god no slacks and shirts if your washing towels how many times will you guys reminded of that
I am getting a GE high efficiency and i really hope that won't be a problem like that!
I had the exact same experience also with an lg model...
these LG engineers must've been born yesterday.
At least LG handled the situation well. Unlike Samsung who handles it terribly.
No excuse for this whatsoever, Regardless of how its loaded.
Good thing I have a old he washer with metal construction
Pure Junk, buy a Speed Queen
@@ryanmoralesdisneyparkfans2057 only the older TROMM
We can buy whatever the hell we want! If we don't want a speed queen or used DD, *then we don't want it*
How about a Newton Built Maytag model?
they now put metal on it and i think this is why the rpm s for each model is only 950 rpms
Why was he doing slacks and shirts with towels?

There's no way this washer should have done this with that load, no matter how it was loaded. The machine was obviously defective.

What cycle is he in?
What was the model number
I have a Maytag top loader and it’s fine
This LG top loader blew up the same way as Samsung’s top loaders
FIRST OFF DONT PUT A TOWEL IN THERE WITH OTHER CLOTHES THAT DON'T BECOME AS HEAVY WHEN THEY'RE WET LIKE A TOWEL
Why are you yelling?
My old washer that I've had since 2004 holds several large towels, jeans, etc. without a problem. Washers should be made to wash all clothes.
GET A SPEED QUEEN
Ours just did
wow
those kind of medieval toploaders are the worst machines ever made.

😱
kaka
overloading washer could explodes
LG TRASH

All modern washing machines are garbage, they are made to only work for 3-5 years at best.
