Even when they don't explode, they go unbalanced repeatedly to the point where you can't get a load of laundry to complete. This grows worse over time due to weakening in the 4 support rods that suspend the tub. Each time it throws the "dc" unbalanced code, and you manually adjust the load, instead of completing the spin, it refills with water so it's an endless loop. Only washer that I've ever paid that much for and we are giving up on it four years in. Ridiculous. It will not be replaced with another Samsung.
EXACTLY what my experience has been. Just junked my 4 year old Samsung washer. Replaced all the damping rods, and that worked for about 6 months, then problems started all over again. Tried the "drain the upper ring ballast" trick and that seemed to work for awhile. I just had to give up on it. Gets unbalanced, and starts the spin cycle all over. It's supposed to be a water saving appliance, but because of the refilling, has ended up using way more water. This has really been discouraging. It's like appliances are "de-evolving". I used to get 15 years out of a washer, now it's four. And all the lame excuses for this. Fancy electronics, software control, blah, blah, blah. I'm wondering if my washer is "post-exploding" and Samsung changed the software so that the thing is ultra sensitive to spin imbalance. It has never come close to "exploding" or even walking across the floor.
I had that washer but it is a white version and it didn't explode on me the drum just broke down out of nowhere when it was on rinse cycle if I even get one of those recalled washers then I would immediately put in new suspension rods
These samsung washers blown up with only the drum with that blue coloured part really scare me. Just... there... broken... knowing that they went so unbalanced and so fast that the lid flied away from the washer and broke....It really makes me scared from these Samsumg and LG washers.
