I failed my exam in January, and yesterday I passed!!!!! Youre videos helped me immensely! And all your memory hacks came through yesterday! Im so grateful to have stumbled on your goldmine of videos! I cannot thank you enough!!! Thank you Ray!!
Thank you Ray!! I passed my LSW because of all your help and great techniques with breaking things down! I have taken boot camps and studied many times but you have helped me pass
Very helpful, thank you so much. What about if a mother is in a shelter and plans to return with her children to a DV situation? Would that be reported to CPS?
@raytube, with the resources, I was thinking that if the abuser is the client, they would get to view the resources and possible see what's in it. What if there is info about shelters or are we not putting that information in the resource packet?
Hey! It’s standard resources. We don’t have to announce that we believe abuse is occurring. We could say, “Here’s a list of resources we give out” and just have DV resources in there and even do it in front of the suspected abuser. We’re just doing our job so it wouldn’t warrant anything “suspicious.”
Hi Ray I recently found your page and love it! I had a question here that wasn’t covered. What about if there are children involved in the DV situation? I suspect SCR might have to be called … is there anything else?
Help them come up with a safety plan if they want to return and there's no knowledge of abuse directly to the children. If they don't seem to know about the cycle of violence, you can educate them on it.
Thank you so much for using non gender specific language when talking about the abuser. Too many times people assume men are always the abusers when that's far from the truth
So do we ever inform authorities? Or do we always educate, refer or safety plan with client ? I saw that on my exam wondering if my answer was correct 😂!

Very helpful, thank you so much.
What about if a mother is in a shelter and plans to return with her children to a DV situation? Would that be reported to CPS?
Oops just saw that you answered this question already, all set and thanks!
You're the best
Appreciate that insight Ray! Thank you, you are absolutely right. I’m in NY would the CoE be a good place to figure this out re: NYS laws and DV?

You are the ultimate Supervisor! Do you offer mentoring?
What if the question states the couple argues but isn't saying anything about specific dv?
Hi Ray I recently found your page and love it! I had a question here that wasn’t covered. What about if there are children involved in the DV situation? I suspect SCR might have to be called … is there anything else?
Hey! If children witness abuse, educate the client about the psychological impact it has on children
Ah! Okay so that is another reason to educate and witnessing DV in the home isn’t a reason to inform SCR … thanks so much!
@@CreativeConnexions-h8oin some states, you have to inform CPS that a child has witnessed abuse. The context of the question is imorotant
You are my study buddy for now
Hey Ray! I love these videos. What about if they may return home to the abuser WITH their children? Is it self-determination or is it a call to DSS?
Help them come up with a safety plan if they want to return and there's no knowledge of abuse directly to the children. If they don't seem to know about the cycle of violence, you can educate them on it.
A Great training
How can I get your notes ? Do you coach ?
Hello Ray, I am taking my exam in February.
I failed my test and I am pretty sure it was because they gave me questions about couples therapy. That threw me off big time.
I thought this would talk about how to create a safety plan.
Tomorrow, is the big day.
Thank you so much for using non gender specific language when talking about the abuser. Too many times people assume men are always the abusers when that's far from the truth
Absolutely! 🙏🏾
