One more advanced way is to design a depressed 'basin' the diameter of you magnet in your CAD software before the slicer (say, 8 mm), then with the slicer poke a hole in it which is smaller in diameter (e.g. 6 mm) so that you end up with a circular depressed lip (1mm wide) all around the hole, that firmly fits and holds your magnet (I am speaking with the head upside down of course)
Just a little tip, still on Chitubox, if you make the hole first while the piece is still solid, and only then leave the piece hollow, you will have a support wall for the magnet, making it easier to apply to the piece.
Have you been looking at my workbench recently? I was literally doing magnets last night and having the issue with them falling in! The Q-tip trick is genius. I'll certainly be looking into doing that. I really wish Citubox, or Lychee would have a facility to make indented cylinders. That way you could make a capped hole the exact size you need for magnets. (Maybe one day) Thanks Henry! (Great hat btw) 👍
Thank you sir, just the info I was looking for, cool Hat by the way🤘you can start your band up again with it being you have no hair to thrash around anymore😜
Excellent informative video, AS ALWAYS!!! Quick question, not related to magnets. Since I watched one of your videos a long time ago, I have always finished my products with a coat of Krylon ColorMax Flat Crystal Clear. It had worked great but lately I get a haze on my prints after using it, pretty significant. PLEASE, what could I be doing wrong?? As always, thanks for your reply!!!
Most of the time the haze is from not shaking the can up good enough. You have to shake the shit out of it. Plus you have to watch the paint you're using. Make sure it's acrylic based.
THANK YOU! You are right, last few times I have been in a hurry and I have not shaken the can the way I used to. Thanks for taking time to answer my question!!!! Keep those fantastic informative videos coming!!!
Is there another way to get your stl files besides patreon? I saw your Captain America and would like to print and paint him myself. But with Patreon I only get access to current models. not in past months...
OK. many thanks for the quick response. I'll take a closer look at your patreon and will probably join soon! and a big compliment for your videos! keep it up!
This is honestly one of the best videos you’ve done. Thanks for everything you do for the community!!
Impressive something to help improve your display pieces. 👍👍👍
School is in thanks for all the knowledge… keep it coming will watch.
Digging the hat dude 🙌🏽
Well done. Thank you, I've been waiting on this one.

Thanks for the info!
Fantastic tip. Ill try it on my next model.
And you can skip that sanding by doing the pocket/hole in example for a 5mm magnet simply by digging a 5.1mm hole.
@BStadtFilms Doesn't always work but thanks for the tip
Great video for today 👍👍
Thanks 👍
Great vid Henry! I'd love to see a video on airbrushing zenithal highlight...how much is too much am I spraying too little...that sort of thing.
Damn Hank really do love the channel, quality 😊
Good stuff!
Ok, I love the hat

@tonyt3484 Anytime. Hope that helps
Great helpful video Henry. What size magnets do you have. I didn't see the link for them :o)
I mainly use 5mm but I have different sizes. I'll double check on the links but I thought I put them in the store
I know this is not part of your video.i see you like the punisher.have you painted a 3d print using Tim bradsetreet style black and white?
I have not but I'm wanting to commission a Bradstreet style Punisher.
Do your models come pre-supported?
No
Is there another way to get your stl files besides patreon? I saw your Captain America and would like to print and paint him myself. But with Patreon I only get access to current models. not in past months...
Right now it's just through patreon. If you join now you get any two models from my catalog plus the current months models.
OK. many thanks for the quick response. I'll take a closer look at your patreon and will probably join soon! and a big compliment for your videos! keep it up!
Any suggestions on how to paint fishnets on a print? Everytime I try it, it just covers the skin tone and ends up looking like a solid stocking🤬
Try light dusting it with pastels with a makeup brush over the raised surface.
Just had a thought whatever happened to the thin curing lights you could fit into the drain holes to cure inside thoroughly.
But legit question..How do magnets work?
They hold your parts together
Like Henry said they hold your parts together but if you do not pay attention to the polarity they can also repel your parts from each other. 😮
