What kind of experience do you need to work at summer camp? I’ve got 0 experience with kids and would like to know what i should do to be able to apply to camp
I would definitely advise trying to get some experience! Whether that’s volunteering at a local sports club or babysitting. Being a camp counsellor is a hard job and you’re with your group of kids 24/7, it would definitely be beneficial to have some experience behind you first!
Hey, I’ve been seriously thinking about doing camp for the last year and was wondering roughly how much money you’d recommend bringing, and do you think it’s realistic to do if you’ve never been out the country before?
@@jimbob-eo4ks of course you can still apply for summer 24! I use BUNAC as my agency and you can use my code VIC25 to save money on your application! In terms of how much money to bring it completely depends on you as a person and what you plan to do after camp! I never spend much when I’m actually at camp but if you plan to travel for 30 days after, you’d need more money than if you were just travelling for a week!
@@victoriawhitehouse704 thanks for the response! I was also just wondering how it works as a sports specialist, do you have to make the activities up yourself?
I had a family friend that went the year before me and I got an amazing vibe from my camp director when I had my interview! It felt like the one for me!!
I have signed up with Americamp for Summer 2024 and I am SO excited !!! I would absolutely love to get placed at a camp in California and was wondering if you knew of any ? 🫶🏻
I love watching your camp videos! I went to a summer camp in Germany and I’m so glad I did! Massively because of your videos 😅

Hey Vic! If I can ask when you first went to camp, what previous experiences with kids you had?
So I had coached gymnastics since I was about 14! Qualified to get my Level 2 Gymnastics Coaching cert but the time I was 19!
How did you know Tyler Hill was the right camp for you?
