      @@obsidian8099 Any science or engineering related degree that shows a genuine interest in aviation will be an advantage. Obviously Aviation Technology is probably the best degree that shows this.

    I'm 38 and would love to change career direction to become a pilot. hopefully there is still time for me as I realise there will be an upper age limit.

      I'm 40 and I was advised by Atlantic flight training to qualify by 45 if that helps

    hopefully one day I can apply and get it!!!! :) From what I've read I don't think I need to get any kind of a degree in college, just a good leaving cert to meet the requirements. Am I correct in saying that I do not need a degree?!
    Thank you!

      +Luke Byrne You don't HAVE to have a degree but considering how many people are applying and how little places there are, a degree would give you a much better chance.

      ***** Alright thank you! What is the degree in? A degree in aviation/ pilot studies or in any course? :)

    I'm an American interested in the Aer Lingus Cadet program. I'm unable to apply this year because I have to finish secondary school. Next year I will be able to apply and I was wondering if Aer Lingus accepts applications from the United States?

    • @drewkrzywonos2573
      @drewkrzywonos2573 8 лет назад

      +Liam Doyle I will write to Aer Lingus to express interest. It would be great to work for them. I don't know how hard it is to obtain a work permit for Ireland however.

    • @drewkrzywonos2573
      @drewkrzywonos2573 8 лет назад +1

      Probably. I assume leaving certificate is the equivalent to a high school diploma for Americans.

    • @drewkrzywonos2573
      @drewkrzywonos2573 8 лет назад

      That may be a problem regarding Irish citizenship. I don't have any Irish ancestry that I know of. I am taking flight lessons currently if that helps out.

      +Liam Doyle I have looked at the American carriers and thats the route I will most likely take. The only problem is in America you need 1500 hours before an air carrier will hire you.

    How much is it per year and how long

    • @helenaville5939
      @helenaville5939 5 лет назад +3

      It's free. Aer Lingus covers 100% of the cost of training its pilots. In return the pilots must commit to working for the airline for a minimum of 7 years after qualification.
