I love these handles! I found a cheap pair on Ebay a couple months ago and put some wooden fat grips on them. I use them full time now (except for rows for which I still use the straps together like a V-bar). I also use a long bar, triceps rope, or some "ninja" grips (basically 6" sticks for handles) for variety. Glad you did a video on these. I think people will like them.

Yeah those handles came with the old Total Gym XLi shopping channel model for sure. I have mine in a box somewhere. No idea why I haven't swapped them over on my XLS yet, I'll have to do that.

Ha! I knew you'd like these Mike! These have always been no-brainer handles for me on Total Gym. Like you kind of noticed and will probably more realize with use, depending on the direction you grip these, it changes the handles perpendicular pull with the cable and gives a slight EZ curl bar grip variation. I do still like the newer style handles for some movements as well. Thanks for reviewing these and validating for me what I've always thought for myself! Excellent TG/Sliding Bench Trainer content! They do look like the ones that were on the TG 1000. I got rid of that unit, but I think I kept the handles. I may have to pull them out and give them a try again !
I love these chrome handles also. One thing I did notice though is that they, or the larger carabiner clip (which I also have) seem to twist the TG cable itself, which I heard could shorten the life of your cable. To remedy this, I added a large swing swivel that I bought at a local home improvement store. This allows the handles to twist freely.
Good idea. I'm going to try to find some. Ring on each end? Or ring on one side and clip on the other?

@@Agent_G_33 The type I have has a ring on each end. One ring clips to the main carabiner, the other end you can attach the quick-screw carabiner that came with the handle.

I traded a guy a George Forman grill for a Total Gym and it came with these handles.
That's a solid trade.
Initially ordered a weight bar and chrome handles with Amazon prime and it came to a total of 85 dollars. From totalgym direct both of them land at your door for a grand total of 64 dollars. Something to note at least. I've been finding that for most things Amazon doesn't really have the best price available. Best to shop around
Yes, definitely I think Total Gym is the cheapest and best option especially if you're buying more than one attachment.

I've used the bear grip gloves in the past if that helps.
Hav XL....what came w/ it(metal handles)....ordered plastic handle ones just to hav both....cant say I prefer one over the other, think they each perform better in certain exercises....good stuff! 👍

I like the chrome handles rather than the straps. They are also shorter in length.
What would be the top 3 attachments that you recommend we should definitely have?
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. Assuming they have a wing dip attachment, probably be a swivel, pilates bar/ squat stand combo, weight bar attachment and my angles 90 straps as far as what I've been using the most. I know that's not 3 though.

Yes, pretty much for that last year and a half. I feel that it does everything I want with my fitness goals, is fun, versatile, and efficient.

Mostly it's a variety of rowing / pulling related movements from different positional angles. I should make a video on this in the near future.

I prefer these Handles. Can you please tell me how you were able to remove the screw clips that came with the handles? I would like to replace with the carabiner clips, but I can’t seem to get the screw clips off….
On mine, I just unscrewed it with my hand. Yours must be on tight and will need a wrench to get off.
