Moondrop really need to up their game and revise their pricing. The market has gotten really competitive and caught up caught up a lot since 2022/2023. I am afraid the Kadenz get snubbed by most.
When I saw the Kadenz I thought it was another version of the Kato Matte Steel as they look so similar & with how far the hobby has come in the last few years for nearly £150 it's going to be a hard sell with what's available today.
I think Moondrop is stuck in some sort of bubble. It seems they still haven't realized that new competition has come up and are quite good, if not better; and have even over taken them to some degree. I don't think they've noticed yet, that it's now all about the "price to performance" ratio. I think they still haven't gotten past their Aria "glory days". ...they better wake up, because if not, even a brand like KZ will definitely be overtaking them as well- and that ain't even a joke.
Demo at a local store with my 1zm2 , sound absolutely hilarious for an iem at that price, bass is only sub nearly no mid bass (not a con tho, its preference) details is veiled and seems to smooth out to be safe, treble is weak, spike up and disappear faster than its spike up, almost like the treble Is trying to exist. Overall it leave me no good impression and I return it back.
Kato revamped? I feel Moondrop needs to upgrade their game. Hard to see them releasing anything really good ever since the Variation days(I personally did not like the Variations much either though).
I feel like if these where at least as good as the nova/sm4 the price could've been justified given the nice accessories and the unboxing experience :/

Surprisingly, XuanNV has very mature take on it instead of being gooner box for fetishers.

Buying Nova felt tempting but I had 6 IEMs at that time and getting another one didn't seem plausible. In the end I decided to use the money I saved for MSR7b + FiiO BTR15. The next time I decide to buy IEM, most likely QoA Adonis New will be my target. It looks somewhat too womanly, but whatever.

I was thinking to sell my Xuan NV and Origin just to get Kadenz, but this video made me think thrice hehe.. Maybe you need to check this with the DSP included as it is the main gimmick. A Kato with the DSP cable might be good or not, just sayin'
Not only does this KadenZ sound like a Kato, but it also looks like the Kato and the old KXXS reskinned, and they have the audacity to charge nearly $200 for it ?!? Lol Moondrop's mindset is still on the moon if they think this is still 2020 when they struck gold with Variations & Blessin 2. All of their modern releases can't even compete, let alone being vanguard and redefining their relative price bracket. And don't let me start on their horrible qc, my old Variations got its faceplate dropped while most of the audio friends I have in my circle also have different kinds of problems with their moonderp stuff. Never again will I touch or recommend their stuff, no matter how good they might get in the future.
@@teamlulquit if that is the point it seems a bit weird. Eqing well isn't that easy and dsp cables allows manufacturers to do fine tuning and propose various tunings. For mobile devices, eq can be unavailable or more cumbersome.
Honestly I miss the old moondrop but recent moondrop drops have been a downgrade considering the competition we have example the aria 2 is not what I expected like different tuning or more drivers
it maybe not best price/performance (audio wise) but looks amazing, u gotta pay premium lil more for how they look no? lets not be delusional, its doesn't look like any typical other single DD. maybe if they make it $120-$150 its better pricing IMO. but iam just talking from my as, i dont own an audio company and have no idea how much it costs to make this insane angular design IEM.

If you’re going to use the DSP then it’s the same thing as EQ. The Moondrop app is not very reliable so I wouldnt recommend it
