Do you have this just this dove or a second one. I recently bought a diamond dove and I have been seeing both things saying they need a second dove and others saying the opposite
doves need to be kept as a pair. only debate around the topic ive seen so far is whether or not you can keep more than one pair together, because they might get territorial towards doves of a different pair (this is dependent on the personality of the individual doves you have, but its generally adviced against) but please do not keep a single dove!
@@martenmaarten 100% correct. Diamond doves are NOT solitary birds and do need a companion 24/7, something humans simply can't provide for them even if they tried their best. And yes, 2 pairs - or 2 males - can lead to disaster since they are pretty territorial, specially during breeding season. And no, males don't need to have a female dove around to know it's breeding season. Their instinct kicks in naturally. :) Cheers.
Yea the boys have dark orange rings around their eyes. Also, doves and pigeons actually have a male anatomy. They aren’t like parrots. The males actually have a penis.
My diamond dove heard the coo at the end and responded back! They're still doing it

There are different physical signs like the orange ring around the eye is smaller on females, and she laid eggs.
@powerrangergirl9010 soft fruits and vegetables and a hard boiled egg is good for them you cant just feed store bought seeds.
The males have darker rings around there eyes the females have lighter rings
