When Les Pauls aren't heavy enough...
Bet it‘s lighter than a Gibbi
Its probably still lighter than my '67 golt top was.
Too funny... you had me laughing out loud lol
Fill it with lead...sustain for hours! But borrow Junior Brown's guitar stand.
@@toadetteremotewithwiimotio3330 Gibsons are super light lmao
You should've got someone to demo the guitar for you.
it made by a guy have no idea how to build a guitar, it unplayable! look at how high of the string!
It is impossible as the neck is solid. It would be impossible to set the strings up as the tension bar in wood necks compliments the tension of the strings and creates a bend in the neck for the action.
@@AntiTrollableHey luthier here! Na, thats 100% wrong dingus. Look up EGC and old kramer aluminum neck guitars from the 70's
Like TheDooo
@Shubbit the fubbick ubbip!!! A solid neck would bend easier than the hollow neck he made. Irony.
When the only reason you watched this was just to hear it 🤯🤬
:(
Yeah I agree that sucked
@@mortwally3510 Chances of it intonating and playing if you didn't know how to dial in the setup pre-tack: Zilch.
Right?? I was thinking the whole time “how’s he gonna hold that heavy beast to play it??” Guess I know now.
So lame.. everyone knows SOMEONE who can play.. c'mon! Give me my 7 minutes back!
Lets play HEAVY METAL on it🤣
Literally huh... 😁😆😅
Hahaha
Let's shall
Idontgettit
@@gustavgnoettgen IMPOSSIBLE
"If only I could play guitar."
Then find someone who can! I clicked to hear how it sounds!
me too!!
Leo Fender didn't play guitar either and he built the best guitar the universe has even seen. Great job!
he played the guitar, he may not have been a pro player but he could play.
Both Teles and Stats are great guitars (I like Teles, not personally a fan of Stats at all) but dude, those are 60+ year old guitar designs.
Guitar design has come a long way since then.
@@klauswigsmith And yet his original designs are timeless. I also include his bass designs, the Precision, Jazz, and the Stingray
@@Dwightpower88 Sure, but timeless doesn't mean they're still the greatest guitar designs ever.
All guitars designed back in the 50s and 60's, from Teles and Stats, to Les Pauls and SGs, all have some pretty glaring design flaws that could be improved upon, but both Fender and Gibson are stuck on tradition.
Hell, the development of the "Super Strat" in the 80's should tell you all you need to know about the shortcomings of the original Stat's design.
People love these guitars because they're stuck on nostalgia.
Personally I love Les Pauls, but shit, there's a bunch of things I wish Gibson would address with that design.
Guitar snobs will say the chrome isn’t letting the metal breathe. Needs more sustain 😂🤦🏽♂️
It's made out of tonesteel and handpicked welding rods from the 70's. Not heavy enough? Fill the internal reservoir with whatever tonestuff you want!
Christopher Aaby
Hahahaha
Lol, word.
Marty McFly: This is heavy.
Dr. Emmett Brown: Is there a problem with Earth's gravitational pull in the future?
The action is incredibly high. You need to lower the nut and bury the bridge. Or you could use it as a slide guitar I guess. Looks great though.
Needs better neck angle bridge looks as low as it can go
Truth is that he didn't need frets at all.
It's cuz there's no neck angle
easy fix. just adjust the truss rod.
@@co20ca05 exactly o wait :p
Finally....a guitar that can't be smashed on stage or set on fire! Rock on....
Hendrix used lighter fluid remember so .... yeah there goes that thought. but i have to wonder , if a steel string can give you a bit of a shock from a bad ground wire what can this thing do.
@@kaptainkmann7808 insert emperor palpatine meme here "powaaahh!! unnnlimited POWAAAHH!"
Pete Townshend probably foaming at the mouth right now 🤣
My back hurts just looking at this.
Imagine if he forgot the ground wires
@Kaustubh Singewar indeed aha
😂😂😂
Kaustubh Singewar, I didn’t see that coming! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 that was awesome
uh oh
Then that would be his last video ever made
Plot twist: The thrust rod is made of wood.
Les Paul Ballesteros *truss rod
@@ZaneDalton i dont thrust you
Thrust that wood. 😛
@@Xianpaul0523 I don't thrust you.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but wouldn’t the steel neck be stiff enough to not require a truss rod?
I want to do this out of solid material, put a maple cap on it and call it a lead Paul.
Mans fashioned an entire guitar outta steel and y'all are complaining that he can't play. Respect the craftsmanship y'all
I made an Acoustic Galvanised one a couple of years ago.. The sound was awesome. I gave it to a Cancer fund raiser and it sold for about $350.00 (Aus$)
I really wanted to hear how it sounded 😢
No you dont
This is super cool!! My brother made a Flying Star guitar in his welding class a couple years ago. It’s cool to see how other people make steel guitars
He just used a wood neck though
The nut is wayyyyyyy to high my guy like Jesus Christ the action on that thing would make it unplayable. Looks great tho
could play slide
That thing is unplayable lmaoooo that action and is that fretwork eyeballed from the other guitar?! Lmao that thing can’t be playable. But I respect the effort!
Id love to see this done again, and get that neck angle bang om, that guitar looks amazing, but that action was sky high.
Congrats on winning forged in fire!! Your very talented. Keep up the nice work
Gibson actually gave the “metal” body Les Paul some serious thought and produced a one off prototype. A hollow body version made of welded aluminum pieces to scale with a “carved” top and a rosewood neck. It’s a piece of art and is beautiful! They quickly put an end to any further development because it sounds like absolute garbage!!! Thin and tinny. Absolutely no warmth to speak of. Like I said it’s freaking gorgeous !!! A friend, who is a serious guitar collector, owns this guitar. He has many one offs and prototypes from Gibson and Fender, including five hand painted Strats, made for Hugh Hefner , with PlayBoy pin up girls. Pretty cool stuff
It's so sad that it sounds like garbage... it could be true METAL GUITAR
I cannot discribe how awesome this is
This guitar is gonna be heavy as hell, however you´ve done a great job. I wish I could play it ¡¡
You got to plug it in to see how it sounds man!
Great craftsmanship!
I love guitars, but I can't play either.
Whew...I'm so glad you made a hollow body instead of a solid body.
Work of art!
This is awesome
I've seen a lot of guitar builds but I've never seen some one hand weld a guitar
It was worth every single second
Edit: but I noticed something, when he does the close up to the pickups, the strings have very high action
Great job!
Looks absolutely FANTASTIC!
Love the idea, goodbye humidity changes 😎
That’s awesome and this video is going to blow up. See you in June bud! Bring the guitar and we can get Jimmy to play it. 🤣
ManCraftingTM thanks chad!! Im glad you like it! And I should!
Hey Man make a video playing the guitar I want to her it
Well. Maybe not June. October?
You made my day by showing off its looks and completly ruined my day by not letting me hear how it sounds.
I can't thank of words to describe what I think of it it's beautiful I would love to hear what it sounds like
Oh my god, the action is so damn high lol 😂
Damn. And here I was struggling for days just to make a guitar pickguard out of stainless steel. To be fair though, I only had a hand saw, a Dremel and a cheap table router, none of which particularly well equipped for cutting high-carbon steel. Wish I had had a torch/plasma cutter like you're using. Beautiful work. I like it.
Use salt and rust it off.
I feel like not enough metal-working videos include the mandatory "Oh, that's heavy" exclamation
On today’s episode, Paul builds a Paul !!!
can't be more metal than this.
I thought a good idea would be to use used train wheels, smelt them, then pour the smelted metal into a mold that is in the shape of a custom guitar with a neck, and apply the smelted metal to other molds as well utilizing everything from the same train Wheels to build the same product. The real work in this case is building the molds themselves, because that's where the artwork customization sculpting comes into play, the rest of the guitar should be built like blacksmithing, and routing out the actual metal pieces to make for the electrical parts of the guitar.
As for the rest of the guitar it should be fully Iron and Steel, and because it's made in the mold the neck and the body would be one piece.
The beauty of music is never seen... it is heard
Just hit a few open strings XD We will love you for anything we can hear. I'm sad but, great looking guitar!
Wow, Amazing JOB !!
Literally a heavy metal guitar!
Never mind the negative comments Paul , it's beautiful work. You clearly have great fabrication skills. It's perhaps an unusual piece , maybe even impractical , so even if it is unplayable so what, like Leandro Batt says below - it's a scultpture . I enjoyed watching your video
@Paul Pinto
Since the body is hollow you should build that version of it. A pair of cutouts in the top plate.
Keith Richards would instantly faceplant hard with that guitar
Holy back breaker!! That is the nicest boat anchor I have ever seen. It's gotta weigh at least 20lbs. Still, you're a masterful craftsman. Good job.
What's the point if you can't hear how it sounds like?
Do you see an output jack? I guess it was made to be an art piece.
@@PastelComGini Fair enough. Though, I guess he could've recorded with his phone
Now thtis is what I call industrial metal
Vibranium, sustain and resonance is great. . . and it returns when you throw it.
Maybe pass it around the different guitar channels? That would be great to watch.
That's a bad ass looking guitar!
Now that is one metal guitar
Just looking at that action makes my fingertips sore. Sick guitar though! One of the dudes from Rammstein should get one.
This is a true Heavy Metal guitar.
Good job, it is a fine guitar, unique
very nice , I love it
RJ
Awesome build Paul!! That thing came out gorgeous!
The ultimate guitar for heavy metal.
I wish I was as creative as this dude is, beautiful crafted guitar, good on ya.
Now that’s metal🤟🏼
Wow - I love it. Please make someone play it for us.
This is the MASTER CRAFTSMANSHIP!
Wow 😊 such a beautiful Guitar so special 🎸 Thank you for sharing 🙏
Thanks for sharing the result of your work. Beautiful one, ehhh... Btw, how much does it weight?
Great job on the final looks, but I don't think that would actually play. I'd suggest mill it out of a billets and have a Luthier get the fretting and stuff right. I'd like to hear how that sounds.
This gives a whole new meaning of lap steel guitar
Action seems SUPER high. Shame if that can't be fixed as the neck doesn't have any adjustments. Cool build whatsoever!
GOT TO HEAR IT !! Let a guitarist play on it !! !! You cant do this to me !! Got to hear it :)
That guitar is 🤘metal🤘 af! That looked fun. I miss working with metal.
Awsome job! This thing looks perfect for Mick Thomson🤘
Nice Job ! Only one question : What's the weight ?
Heavy metal lol
Great Job BRO!
Dang! Beautiful!!
Amazing video. I have one question. How tick is the steel in mm from the plates? Thx for your answer. Best regards!
A beautiful wall hanger...
Now that's some heavy metal
Now that's true heavy metal
Nice work.. pretty cool!
Its a piece of art! Job well done.
That's gonna play some REALLY heavy metal
That nut is REALLY thick. The string action looks a little high as a result. Very cool build either way.
How much does it weigh? And how does it sound?
Now that’s true metal
Wow a pure metallic guitar is so beautiful but also much more susceptible to interference than a wooden one I imagine
Finally a les Paul headstock that won't snap
A dean ML shape made like this would be insaaaaane!
Amazing what 3 weeks and a bit of chrome plating can do... How does it play??? No sound test??? 🧐
Hope it doesn't rust!!!! Looks great
LOL that action is a MILE high! I don't think that thing will ever be playable.
Amazing and highly detailed piece of metal art work!!!
The action on that thing is higher than a kite
With this guitar every live gig is a work out session.
is it a only decor? we want to hear sound.
Really awesome man... But the action (the distance between the strings and the neck) is SUPER high. That would be extremely hard to play, and the sound quality would suffer as well. Maybe you could just fix that by adjusting the bridge, but I have a hunch that it has something to do with the position of the neck (and possibly the size of the nut, that thing seemed a little big).
Anyway, it's absolutely gorgeous. I would love to hear it play.
A hallowbody guitar made of metal.
While it looks really cool and the craftsmanship is amazing, I'm wondering how much feedback it would generate when plugged into an amp lol.
Awesome vid!
I want to see and hear this guitar played, demo'd. It will have a metallic tone and resonant overtones and be microphonic and have great sustain.
