For me, it seems like the best executed races always have that “maybe there was just a little more in there” feeling. But IMHO, that’s better than the alternative.

Edit, cut, sound, content, talking. Outstanding video. Keep up the great Job. Not many of the running, or sport channels are that well produced. It's natural, professional and authentic, but not too personal. Even when you talk about personal things sometimes, you manage to keep the audience at a respectful distance, not abusing them as your therapy mirror. In particular this is one of the few running channels I know of, in which the presenter has an actual talent to talk and entertain. I'm a big fan of yours and Daniel's work. One last thing: Register “love the grind” as a protected brand ASAP, it is tooo cool.

Loving your work, its refreshing to see behind the scenes, to see the struggle is a real for a weekend warrier as it is for an elite (legend), also helps that you are so down to earth
Has anyone ever run a perfect race? Isn't there always something that you think you could have done just that little bit better? You ran bloody well and contributed to a really good race, one of the best of the weekend. Whatever it is that is next on the horizon - good luck!
The perfect race is when you know you are done. Spewing up at the end having gave everything lol
@@bh4560 That is, no doubt, a courageous race, a good "guts race" but not necessarily perfect. If you are going for a 32 minute 10K but go through half way in sub 15 minutes you can end the race utterly exhausted but are unlikely to go sub 32. Is that a PERFECT race? suely not?

Well done - another really exciting race. Apparently, shouting encouragement at the TV doesn't actually work... Will be really excitig next year seeing what you can do on top of what it going to be an epic marathon season. Assuming you don't melt in Arizona that is!
Also really cool seeing faces from various other vids popping up in these race volgs - it's a great way to up the wider GB running presence!

Possibly the happiest video you’ve made! May be the weights have been lifted from your shoulders! Strong running!!! Makes me laugh…..you literally run nearly twice as fast as me 😂😂😂
Doping controls are a blast. As a coach, I've seen my share of athletes been requested for testing. The first nervous test, where they got pee on their hands. The test where reservations were lost, due to taking too long to pee. Where they had to drink multiple bottles before being able to deliver a sample, only to needing to pee MULTIPLE times on the way home. Even heard of an athlete being held for hours, unable to deliver a sample, that the refractometer was satisfied with (note, do NOT drink a liter or more of just water, prior to being tested).
Why wouldn't you drink a litre or more of just water prior to being tested?
@@Flawgore 'cause if there isn't enough Stuff in the urine, it looks like you're trying to cheat the sample taking by flooding out the concentrations of whatever you don't want to be detected. It's called 'masking' in anti-doping terms (and is also why diuretics are banned substances without therapeutic use exemptions)
@@Flawgore because it dilutes the sample so much that they’ll class it as invalid and wait for another one
Used to love taking my turn at the front when running repeats or intervals at the track. No-one blocking my air cooling! ;) Well done Phily. PBs are always satisfying.

Question Phily: is it a risk to go out in front like you did, or is it an eventual winning strategy? I never ran mid to long distance in track, so I’m genuinely curious about the tactics.

I don't know if this is true or not, but when I saw the title, I thought you meant like you have gotten injuried and you won't be racing for a REALLY long time or something, and I was confused when I saw you at the start line of the 5k, but are you going to be doing more races at like XC, if that's even a thing anymore after college and high school, or are you still doing mostly track in terms of racing? Or are you just going to stop entirely. I really enjoyed watching your racing videos, and I hope you continue to do more of these. By the way, congrats on the PR, 15:22 is incredible. You've broken the 5 minute mile barrier pace for the 5k. Maybe you can train to break 15 minutes in the 5k? I would LOVE to see that series!
