Here’s a quick summary of everything that happened in Portal 2: Wheatley was trying to escape with you, because you were the last test subject left that is still alive in this facility, you got to a room with a bunch of switches and you were trying to find one that says “Escape pod”. When you plugged Wheatley in, to find the right switch, the platform suddenly started moving upwards and turning on every single switch it revived GLaDOS after being dead. She broke Wheatley and threw him away and started testing with you. Wheatley somehow fixed himself and made it back to you and started escaping with you again. You made the turret making machine (I don’t actually know what to call it) only make the defective turrets and then you destroyed the neurotoxin generator. Then a pipe broke and sucked you and Wheatley in. After that you got split up and GLaDOS trapped you in a glass box. She placed turrets around you, but since they were defective, they just exploded instead of shooting you, they almost broke the glass. Since that didn’t work, GLaDOS decided to kill you with neurotoxin instead, but instead of neurotoxin Wheatley came out of the tube and broke the glass. The facility detected that GLaDOS is a corrupted core and that she can be replaced with Wheatley, you plug Wheatley in and he calls the elevator to the outside of the facility, and then he decides to betray you when you get in the elevator, turns GLaDOS into a potato battery, GLaDOS gives the backstory of how Wheatley is a moron that was built to make her stupider and Wheatley doesn’t like that and punches you into a pit. You fall down with GLaDOS and find the old Aperture, you find GLaDOS and she tells you that this whole facility will explode if you don’t put her back in her body, you learn about the propulsion, repulsion and conversion gels. You manage to get back to the new Aperture and Wheatley tests with you, because in the new body, the robots are forced to test and after testing Wheatley decides to kill you, because he found robots that he could test with instead of you. You manage to escape from him, find corrupted cores and get to “His Lair” you manage to plug multiple corrupted cores on him to make him be detected as corrupted and activate a core transfer. But he puts bombs on the stalemate button and you somehow manage to survive the explosion. You put a portal on the moon and it sucks Wheatley and one of the corrupted cores into space. After that GLaDOS decides to finally let you go.

I didn't catch that bit about me being the only one alive, so I guess Wheatley didn't kill a bunch of people in the beginning (or he killed the only alive ones). Also, I'm kinda curious why we needed an escape pod instead of just finding an exit. I mean, as far as I know, we weren't on a ship or anything, right?
