there not slayers like we used to see them, its more of a culture than a path to doom, we see this in the audiobook Realmslayer, Gotrek comment's there basically bitches compared to real slayers.
That's why I love magmic invocations. Not just the Runic Fyrewall, but the Molten Infernoth too can serve as a blockade since it's base it's quite wide and can block units. Nice batrep!
Ive now watched this twice, it's one of my favorite batreps of all times. In fact, I bought the files and printed the same scenery for our narrative campaign , which was a 4 man, 8000pt narrative battle. Fyreslayers and Kharadron vs Ogors and Gloomspite in a genuine Order vs Destruction battle. Kharadron were bribed into helping defend the Runefather's kingdom from the beasts! It made for an awesome game. We gave the walls any doors their own stats, because the Destruction Army's goal was to push the Fyreslayers out of the kingdom.
Remember that the fyrewall has a 1inch zone around it. So LOS was not possible for a few of the Rock throws because the 1mm line would have passed in the 1” zone
This game was basically decided once the lists had been made lol, its like a 8-2 match up in fyreslayers favour lol. Slowing their movement, reducing their to hit, mortal wounds, good save, anti monster guns against a whole monster army
The wall gives you re roll 1's for armour saves if wholly within range. Also you had re roll to wounds on the hearthguard which includes their axe's which you didn't even fire.
I am thinking about playing AoS myself and I have a question: are Sons of Behemat fun? I mean, they have no magic or really cool abilities, they are just massive and they smash things.
id love to get into this. i just have no clue on painting and id love to be the one who paints my own army. im in love with total war warhammer. thats what got me into the table top. been watching these videos for a few years and i just have no clue on how you even get your foot in the door with this.
The magma blood, is the full wording in the battletome? I play Creamatorian Bonereapers and every first turn is his magmadroth charges my Mortek Guard, kills some, they explode, he bleeds, they explode, ad infinitum until the magmadroth dies and half+ a unit is re-dead. Have we been doing this wrong the whole time?!?
Only once per battle and if you declare it at the start of combat. He missed doing it on the first unit that was in the fort. He remembered on the other two units though.
But it was also played that way (Defensive formation) due to the double turn. Without this threat, we would have a much more offensive move from the fireslayers. We would have also see a first turn from the Behemath, and I'm pretty sure it would have also been far more offensive, at least on the map control. (Just be outside of shooting range on one part of the map) I'm not saying that it's good or bad mind you. Just that even if a double turn does not occurs, it impacts how you play the whole game. (As long as you take it in account. If you run forward and get doubled.... Well.) My issue with that is more the really heavy shooting/magic double turn where pretty much everything can be vaporized. Here, not so much.
@@Michael-gs3lw Oh I agree, but what I am saying is I prefer that the double turn mechanic did not exist at all. And a melee double turn can be just as brutal as a shooting/magic double turn, though the alternating combats does help to mitigate this somewhat.
@@daemonnexusknight I understand. For me, it's just a flavor, a choice and a gut feeling that I'm pretty happy to have. It just really suck when it destroy a game, but on the other hand, it's never really over until the end. I would like them to keep it, but to have more way to counter act the power of it. (Like not available on second turn, give more incentive for second player, this kind of stuff) P.S : Sry, it's not an attempt to sway you on anything. I guess it's more for me to put my thought on "paper"
@@Michael-gs3lw Yeah, Matt has mentioned that he would like to see them do that as well if they keep it. While I would prefer it be dropped, I would be open to having it become an actual choice more often for sure.
5 years I ignored this game. I'm not going to get into AoS, I swore. Never going to happen. Then 2020 happened, and now I have a fyreslayers, Ogor, and Kharadron army.
Yep, expensive as hell though. I have 4 mega gargants, two mancrusher gargants, and an aleguzzler gargant, and it cost me well over 1k$ cdn. I bought them one at a time while I built my other armies.
I've just started playing SoB. They're loads of fun and easy to counter but that's not a bother to me. But I do have a question: Why is every SoB list I see the bloody same? Taker Tribe, 3 Megas, 3 Little Giants? Is that the "meta?"
Giants seem like an extremely easy army to counter. Debuffs gain so much value against them and they are funnelled into your kill zones. It's going to be interesting to see how they deal with other competitive armies.
Sons of Behemat are awesome, but also the most expensive models. Josh's army there is about 1000$ Canadian, just for the unbuilt models. The Fyreslayers, otoh, can be had for 5-600$. There is also a lot of armies the Sons just aren't effective against, while the Fyreslayers are badass fighting forces (especially hearthguard Berserkers, who matt isn't using here). Fyreslayers were my first AoS army. Followed by Ogor Mawtribes, then Kharadron (my current favorite). Now im building Gargants and looking at Gloomspite Gitz. I have a serious problem.
Love AoS battle reports. At one point he says "smell them, hear them, then see them" not sure which faction that comme t was for. Assume Behemat. I would think hear, smell, see. I mean thats my thoughts on a comment I sort of heard haha
I really wish they would have gotten rid of the double turn for upcoming 3rd edition, but it doesn't seem that they have. I don't know anyone who likes the mechanic (unless they just won a double turn). But someone at GW likes it.
My advice Matthew for improving your Scottish accent is to not move your mouth too much. The Scotts are not an excited people and often want to avoid getting rained on. If you can do the accent without really moving your teeth it'll be grand.
