I am so sorry to say that this is not the real Chi Gong way of practicing the Eight Pieces of Brocade. The way he practices is very closed to physical exercise. Most of his movements violate the principle of the original Eight Pieces of Brocade. So, I believe that he does not understand the theory of every movement. I have written a book " Taoist Eight Pieces of Brocade" in which the theories of all the movements are explained. By the way, such Chi Gong is not originated from Shaolin.

Thank you for your comment. Nobody mentioned it was originated from Shaolin, however Shaolin has its own practice of Ba Duan Jin which is focused on tendons strengthening and breathing.
I have practiced this for a decade and definitely help improve my whole physical form external and internal.
But I understand it might not be conform for a lot of people.

@@YokohamaShaolinKungFuSchool Thank you for your reply too. I said that because the name "Shaolin Ba Duan Jin" is misleading and your way of movements actually downgrades the original practice to just breathing exercise and stretching. The original "Ba Duan Jin" is Chi Gong and there are theories for every movement. Also, there are reasons why the movements are practiced in such order. If people just want to get a better physical form, I would say that yoga can give you a much better result. I have been learning Chi Gong for more than 30 years. It is kind of sad to see that the original "Eight pieces of brocade" is downgraded by almost 80%. I hope that what I said did not offend you, since you are a Shaolin master.

It did not offend me, I am open to different opinion and understand your point of view. I am also defending mine and we are not pretending anything. I’m also convinced that there are different way of practicing as long as it can benefit people.

請問你了解背後動作的理論嗎?如果你了解,你就不會這樣綀了,你只是在做運動而矣。Do you really understand the theories of the moves. If you do, you wouldn't have practiced in this way. You are just doing physical exercises.

@Ana Quellmalz Chi Kung is neither physical exercises nor dancing. The gestures should follow the theories of Chi Kung. I am sorry to say that most of his gestures don't follow the theories of Chi Kung.

...I am wondering how would look like that ba duan jin that would be in accordance with the theories of chi kung....how?
...neither sport nor dancing. But an amount of stretching??? That precise amount that would allow certain paths between the muscles to open, for the qi to flow +what the monk is doing with his mind during " exercising".
... this shaolin form seems to have more "stretching unites" than others forms I saw, some of the moves are similar to yi jin jing.
Anyway..., I am only sincerly curios about that Chi Kung you mentioned.

@@anaquellmalz1620 Hello, I learn Chi Kung theories from the following channel :
      ruclips.net/video/rteQ3XEuYwY/видео.html
He teaches theories for all the "ba duan jin = The Eight Pieces of Brocade " gestures, but he speaks Cantonese. I think you need someone to do the translations. Perhaps, you can ask him those questions, I am not good enough to answer. I hope he can give the answers you wanted in English.
